Ostensibly an average high school boy from Tsutsujidai, Yuta is far more than he appears. Using the Primal Acceptor and the command "Access Flash!", Yuta can transform into Gridman, a giant robot who fights to protect the people he loves.

Background

A few months ago, Yuta woke up on Rikka Takarada's couch. He discovered he had no memories and was diagnosed with amnesia.

Resources

Junk: Technically owned by Rikka's family, Junk is an old crappy computer. Gridman resides inside it, and connecting with it allows Yuta to merge with Gridman to fight evil.

Primal Acceptor: A device on Yuta's left wrist. It allows him to perform Access Flash and enter Junk to merge with Gridman.

Neon Genesis Junior High Students: A team of four mysterious people. Like Yuta, they're capable of entering Junk. Each of them allows Gridman to summon a different power-up.

Gridman Alliance: Yuta's closest friends and allies. Together, they're determined to put a stop to the kaiju attacks.

Shuffle Alliance: Comrades from outside Tsutsujidai. As many of them are veterans of super robot conflicts of their own, they offer guidance and mentorship to the Gridman Alliance.

Relationships

Akane Shinjo: Yuta's classmate and creator both. He has complicated feelings about her -- wishing to save her heart from Alexis Kerib, and knowing he has to stop her from creating more kaiju.

Anti: Despite how much he hates Gridman, Yuta has put forth a considerable amount of effort to try and save Anti. They're certainly not friends, but perhaps they could find common ground in hating Alexis Kerib?

Kaworu Nagisa: These two are great friends! Yuta trusts and respects Kaworu, and looks up to his skills both on and off the battlefield.

Nidaime: A strange little girl who always seems to have helpful information. Yuta isn't quite sure what to make of her, but he understands that she's a friend.

Rikka Takarada: Yuta's not-so-secret crush, and a fellow member of the Gridman Alliance. Her family owns Junk. In Yuta's eyes, Rikka is beautiful and completely capable of anything she puts her mind to.

Shinji Ikari: Another close friend. Yuta thinks Shinji is popular and cool -- much to Shinji's surprise. Shinji's gentle nature and Yuta's kind personality work in perfect harmony together.

Sho Utsumi: Yuta's very best friend and founding member of the Gridman Alliance. Yuta knows he can rely on Utsumi for just about anything.
