<Pose Tracker> Eisen Daiwel has posed.

        EARLIER

Things were just fine for a bit. Yuta was stable after being pulled out of surgery at Tsutsujidai's Inoue Hospital. Recovering in his bed, untethered, to rest in bed. Only for his face to start going a bit pale hours later, and a strained 'ticking' in his breath.

Calls for the doctors follow, Nurses rushing in at the same time that another person steps into the room.

Lightning ripples outside of the room at night, lights flickering for a moment in the hospital, illuminating the man in black garb. A green glow coming from the accents of his clothing, as well as a device over his right eye. Water drips loudly onto the floor, and his breath just a bit labored. This 'stranger' has clearly just come from outside.

Yet, without missing a beat - that very man declares; "I, Eisen Daiwel, licensed surgeon, I will deal with this." A statement that is perhaps a lot more telling than it might sound at the surface, to those that know of this particular individual.

        NOW

It's been about three hours, after which the light of the surgeon bay goes off. Those who have been watching in the halls have either seen people head out, or personally helped to go to one of the large Ships, or the small Lab at the edge of Tsutsujidai to get some equipment. Nurses checking the equipment for sanitation, mostly tubes and some more complex medical machinery.

But eventually, Yuta is being pushed into a different ward of the hospital. <Intensive Care>.

It's a pitiful sight in a ways. Attached to multiple machines. There's a threesome of tubes sticking out of the boy's mouth. Two small ones, and one thicker one. A cap over his mouth as well. A blanket is covering the silent youth.

Notably, the boy is strapped down. His wrists and ankles tied down to the bed, though loose enough not to cause significant discomfort. Multiple monitors are keeping track of his status, and there's an IV pump going into the back of his hand. Fluids are at a slow drip.

People are being allowed into the place. But there's really not a lot of room to 'sit' anywhere, except for the pull out toilet, and a very large chair.

Eisen is dressed in a black surgeon's outfit. Anyone who enters is being asked to please sanitize their hands, but they are fine otherwise. "Sorry for the scare." He begins, giving people some time to file in.

<Pose Tracker> Yuta Hibiki has posed.

Seeing Yuta deteroriate, Max had been beside himself. Eisen's appearance was greeted with initial wariness -- but as desperation warred with suspicion, desperation won out. Yuta was given to Eisen's care, and Max stood vigil outside the surgery. Unable to call upon his comrades, he bears this burden as best as he can. In his hands are a cell phone, decorated with a charm bearing twin musical notes, and a scarf coated in blood. His knuckles are white.

---

When Yuta finally is released from surgery, Max rushes to his side. The sight of the wires, tubes, and /restraints/ send a terrifying rush of emotion through the large man, more than he's experienced before. Part of him wants to rip those things away from Yuta, but instead, he contains himself. After the endless chairs designed for normally-sized people, Max is greatful for the larger one.

Max waits for Eisen to return, then turns to him. Though his face is nearly entirely covered with a metallic mask, his eyes are full of emotion. "Young man. I understand you are responsible for saving Yuta. I am truly grateful -- and in your debt. But I must ask." Voice strained, Max gestures to the variety of medical accessories spread across Yuta's sleeping form. "/What/ is the purpose of these things? Why is he restrained?"

He's still clinging to the phone and the scarf. Max forgot he was holding them a long time ago.

<Pose Tracker> Koji Kabuto has posed.

Koji had already been in the hospital, helping move patients to where they needed to be. That unmistakable shock of red hair had rung alarm bells in his mind and he'd taken personal interest in making sure Yuta had made it into surgery. The kid's deterioration had only alarmed him further, especially given how overwhelmed Inoue's staff were quickly becoming. Volunteers were needed, and... Koji only knows basic field first aid.

Now, he's leaning against the wall just outside Yuta's room after having worn a hole in the linoleum, sipping from a bottle of water. The fatigue of powerlessness is a hell of a thing to face, even for someone as seasoned as Koji Kabuto. He has the door open just a crack so he can at least hear what's being discussed without overcrowding the room.

<Pose Tracker> Alouette Pommier has posed.

After the hopeful news of Yuta's recovery, hearing that his condition took a turn for the worse is like a punch in the gut. It's just a bit strange too, and Alouette has to wonder what caused him to deteriorate so quickly.

Regardless, Alouette arrives in the crowded hospital room, standing her distance from Yuta's bed. She'd already visited more closely on the morning after the stabbing.

"Thank you, Mr. Daiwel, for your timely arrival." The hospital is already unequipped as it is - an extra hand might've saved Yuta's life. Alouette may not be aware of Eisen's chuunibyou ways, but she's heard his name over the NERV lines a few times - he's hopefully trustworthy!

Still, Alouette looks noticeably nervous when she watches the beeping medical equipment bound to Yuta. He already lost his memory... will such a traumatic experience only make his amnesia worse? Or maybe it will jolt them back, like it happened for her. She hopes that when he wakes up, he at least has the mercy of being surrounded by his friends and loved ones this time.

<Pose Tracker> Sonia Sophia-Grace has posed.

The benefit of having a spread out crew is that news can travel quickly. One crew member that would otherwise chill in their own medbay had volunteered her time at the hospital, and upon finding out Eisen was around, combined with that he was doing a surgery that was evidently urgent was enough, she figured, for Sonia to know. She, of course, doesn't get out the door until she's grabbed by Eisen himself and sent off to go find her.

As such, Sonia isn't one of the last to arrive, but all she does upon arrival is poke her head in to the room, giving the Mad Scientist (Doctor, too, she's adding that to her mental spreadsheet about one Eisen Daiwel), a nod before glancing over at Koji and ... joining him against the wall.

Max takes up a lot of space. He needs to be there, first and foremost.

<Pose Tracker> Eisen Daiwel has posed.

Eisen runs a hand along his hair as Max asks the rather expected question after taking that big seat. "Take note that the big seat is eventually for Yuta, when he wakes up." Giving them hope simply through the use of the word 'when' instead of 'if'. Eisen's expression is a bit softer than it usually is, especially when Alouette also joins in on the thank-yous. "The surgeon who originally worked on him is the one who saved Yuta, in earnest. I imagine they were originally hoping that being this young, he'd recover really quickly and would just wake up." Eisen starts to answers Max - for some reason seeming to discard the 'glory' of having saved Yuta. "The problem is, without him being conscious, and without being on any proper machines to monitor him as he 'recovered naturally', weakness and pressure near his lungs caused a constriction."

He then checks a few values. By all means, the vitals look pretty stable now. "Let me start with this first." Eisen then notes, understanding that he's not immediately giving Max the answer he is really hoping for. "Yuta is okay, physically. I imagine the last doctor told you the same thing. There is some extra fibrous tissue in his chest that I managed to get rid of, caused by inflamation that was pushing up close to his lungs. I did a thorough inspection to make sure nothing was causing extra issues. Still, the boy is going to have some trouble with his breathing for a while." He then carefully removes some of the blanket near his chest, showing a strange 'patch' on his chest. It's looking red, and not too pleasant.

He addresses the room. "I'm looking to do a wet healing of the wound, rather than dry healing. It may take a bit longer for him to recover, but it should allow for him to get away with this with a scar that'll attract all the ladies, without interfering with function." He then carefully puts the blanket back over the patch. "I've left instructions for the nurse on how to use this treatment method. And I'll come check up on him once a day, since I'm now responsible for him."

He then then turns back to Max. "But in order to prevent that weakness from cause issues, this large tube is currently making sure that air ends up in his lungs. There is a risk this may cause weakness in his vocal chords." He turns to the room. "But it was carefully induced thanks to the quick work of the nurses and you people warning the Nurses the moment you noticed the problem. So in a ways, your careful observation was what made sure this did not get any worse." Bowing his head in thanks.

He proceeds. "This tube is to make sure he gets food in his stomach. And this one is to prevent air from collecting in his stomach." Eisen points, but does not touch the tubes. "Right now, Yuta is in a Coma. I've run multiple tests and checks on his brain - in as much as I can do with some basic tests here. He is, by all means, fine."

'Fine' he says, but his expression shows something else. "I've asked a specialist from NERV to come by in a bit to check on him as well. But it doesn't seem like he's 'asleep'. He's just... in a Coma for right now." He then calls for Sonia to come in, and when she does, whispering something into her ear.

Which brings him back to the topic of the restraints. "Which is why he's tied down. If he wakes up, he /is/ likely to freak out. Especially with thes tubes in him. And if he pulls them out, he could do severe damage to his vocal chords, lungs, and stomach. Which is why it's routine for the patient to be restrained."

He lets out a bit of a sigh. "Right now, all you can do to help, is observe him. Talk to him." Glancing to the man standing outside of the door for a moment, seeing just the edge of Koji standing outside, before turning to Alouette. "What happened? Did Akane finally try to 'edit' him out?"

<Pose Tracker> Koji Kabuto has posed.

Koji listens carefully to Eisen's explanation to Max's concern through the door, grimacing and murmuring to himself. "That tracks with some of the stuff I've gone through, at least." He's woken up in a hospital bed altogether far too many times, after all.

He looks over to the young woman who just joined him outside the room, tilting his bottle towards her in a tired salute. "Koji Kabuto, Photon Power Research Institute. You know Yuta too, huh?"

'Did Akane finally try to 'edit' him out?'... Koji grimaces again. "This is getting worse by the day."

<Pose Tracker> Orpheus Zevon has posed.

"Doctor, here's the list that you asked for."

Within another branch of Tsutsujidai's Inoue Hospital a conversation between one of the nurses and a young man unfolds. She offers to him a list of current supplies, name of patients, current and on-standby staff. Though, unlike Eisen, he's no surgeon, he's no doctor at all. Yet even now, she assumes him as such. "Good, this should do for the time being. Make sure that there's staff on watch of the supplies. If things start turning bad, we want to be ready."

A solemn look would come to the nurse's face as he made that point. "I wonder if we've already reached that point... I'm not sure if you've heard, doctor, but there's already been a stabbing, only a boy... "

At first, the young man's expression seems undisturbed by the news. Almost as if he truly was a doctor, accepting such info. "All the more reason the hospital needs to be prepared."

The nurse would look down for a moment after a slight nod. "Yes. It's terrible though. They said the boy had been covered in so much of his own blood when he arrived, they thought he also suffered head trauma. It was a relief later when they figured out it was just his hair...He didn't need anymore of an uphill battle."

There's a visible freeze now at the mention. "Red hair...?"

A chill starts running up Orpheus' spine. A hand begins to look through the patient's list. Don't tell me...He was fine a few hours ago. He was just finishing the fight as Gridman!

"How long ago was he admitted, and is he still in surgery? Which room number are we holding him in?"

A more genuine look of concern shows on the nurse's face as she sees it in the "doctor's." "Just a few hours ago, his file should be near the front of the stack...Doctor, is everything okay?"

That's when he'd see that name and that face upon the list. Yuta Hibiki.

There's an urgency as the doctor steps away. No time for conversation. The nurse tries to catch up to him as he turns the corner, but the moment she had, he was already gone. The only person present was that of a blonde-haired young man running. Running, running. Running like he hasn't run in a very long time...

By the time he stops, he's at the end of the hall, far enough away from the door to not be immediately taken notice of, but not far enough where he can't hear as Eisen mutters those words to Koji, Sonia, and Alouette. "Did Akane finally try to 'edit' him out?"

Akane... A part of him knows how much she yearned for the end of Gridman, but to this extreme...Even he hadn't thought it had reached this point yet. He had yet to realize how cornered she had truly felt.

"Oi, are you all for Yuta?" He steps up towards the other, with genuine concern on his face as he sees the tubes in Yuta's throat from the opening in the door. His eyes drifted back towards those standing outside, "I heard a bit from the doctors already. Do you know who stabbed him? It wasn't because of the rationing right? It hasn't even been two days yet..."

<Pose Tracker> Alouette Pommier has posed.

Alouette listens patiently to Eisen's explanation, nodding. The way he's taking every precaution to ensure nothing goes wrong... Between him and Max, it sounds like Yuta is in very good hands, so there's a hint of a smile on her face.

But when he asks her about Akane, it turns back into a sharp frown. "We're.. not certain about Shinjo's intent yet honestly."

Despite the panic of the stabbing, she carefully tries to remember how exactly it went down. "The way I remember it, she definitely had enough time to 'finish the job'. But.. she didn't. And quite frankly, she lacked true killing instinct."

"After she stabbed Yuta, Shinjo destroyed Junk, told us this had to happen to 'end' things and vanished," Alouette recounts. If that's how it happened, then what she wanted to end was /not/ Yuta Hibiki, was it?

"No one's been able to reach her since, but that's probably not a shock." She exhales a very deep sigh. I hope she didn't.. do anything else drastic."

<Pose Tracker> Yuta Hibiki has posed.

Koji's presence is noted. Max doesn't know this person, but they seem to be concerned for Yuta. "Excuse me. My name is Max, I am one of Yuta's, and Gridman's, comrades. If you would, I have been told speaking to Yuta, as he sleeps, may aid in his waking. I -- apologize for the strange request." Max really isn't used to interacting with this many people. "But it looks as though you could use a rest, all the same. Perhaps both may be accomplished at once."

Alouette, at least, is familiar. "Miss Pommier." She's greeted with a grateful smile -- though Max's face is covered, his eyes express warmth. "Thank you for your ongoing concern for him. Your presence always seems to herald good things. If you would be so kind as to speak to Yuta as well, I would be grateful."

Sonia... Max recognizes her from the destruction of that Angel's core, after a moment. "Greetings. It is good to see you well, after our... Erstwhile adventure." That's a light way of putting it... "I know you and Yuta have had but one interaction, but perhaps your voice may assist in reaching him?"

"Of course." Max replies, about the chair. After his first, and only, encounter with Eisen... Seeing the softness on the young man's face is a surprise. The last time Max saw Eisen and Yuta together, they had to be pulled apart by Calibur, before one of them could seriously hurt the other. And now Eisen is here in Tsutsujidai, trapped. Would his vicious words back on that day return?

Eisen goes into a detailed explanation of the treatment. At the sight of the red 'patch', Max's hand clenches tight around that bloodstained scarf. It takes all he has not to visibly react, limiting himself to a simple nod in acknowledgement. The concepts Eisen introduces are entirely unknown to him. After all, what would a Hyper Agent know about repli-compoid healing? "A scar. Hmm."

Yuta is so gentle, how would he react to being burdned with a scar? Max closes his eyes for a moment. What matters is that he'll be able to function, as Eisen said.

"Thank you." Max intones, as Eisen promises to return daily. "I, or one of my comrades, will be here at all times. If we may be instructed in his care, you will find us eager learners." Each new piece of equipment is explained, and Max finds it satisfactory, if... rather frightening. Max's shoulders slump at the news that Yuta is fine -- though he tenses again as Eisen goes on.

"How long will he remain this way?" Max watches Eisen whisper to Sonia, wariness in his eyes. Eisen has certainly won his trust, but he can't help but feel on-edge with Yuta in such a state. "Your explanations are... reassuring, Doctor Daiwel, thank you. We will observe him without fail. Kaworu Nagisa brought by a selection of music, when he visited earlier, in the hopes it would help."

Orpheus arrives. Max recognizes him, vaguely, from Yuta's several sleepovers. "Yes. This is Yuta's room. I am Max, one of his --" A pause. "...one of his friends. It was not over the rationing, it was Akane Shinjo's doing." Did Akane 'edit' him out? Max rumbles out a sigh. "Yes. She came to Aya Junk Shop immediately after we defeated the strange kaiju. Yuta attempted to approach her as a friend, but she was armed with a box cutter. As Yuta tried to convince her that Alexis Kerib was using her, she stabbed him without warning. Her behavior was strange. I do not know her well, but even I found something distinctly 'off' about it."

"Along with her attack on Yuta, she destroyed Junk, a computer which serves as a connection to Gridman. Without his presence, we cannot transform, nor look to him for guidance. Vit is attempting to repair the computer, but it is in terrible shape. Privately, I do not know if it will be able to be restored." Max turns to the room at large, something desperate in his eyes. "If I may, I implore the aid of the finest technical minds among your own comrades. Any with experience repairing computers, particularly older models. I have nothing to offer in payment but the services of myself, and my comrades."

Max looks down, seeming surprised to notice the scarf and phone in his hands. He leans forward, placing them near Yuta's hand on the bed. "Without Gridman, this place will continue to deteriorate. It is... urgent, that we restore our connection."

<Pose Tracker> Sonia Sophia-Grace has posed.

"Sonia Sophia-Grace, NERV ... I captain one of those battleships hanging around. If you see a group of people in similar uniforms running around and helping, odds are they're one of mine." Sonia admits. Battleship captain? This tiny thing? She's shorter than Yuta! "I had the delight to meet Yuta, Max, and Calibur, as well, during something they assisted NERV with. It was quite an adventure."

A pause as Eisen mentions a specialist from Nerv and she wilts a bit. "Oh, he's going to pay for that." She mutters, acting very much like she should be in high school with Yuta and company. "A pleasure to meet you, Koji... I'm sure we'll both be here for awhile. I have curiosities about the Photon Power Institute."

Ah, nerdery.

Lifting up on her tippy-toes so the six-foot-tall surgeon doesn't have to get a kink in his neck, her dark blue eyes brighten for a moment, then she gives him a look of understanding. "Of course." She says, agreeably, edging her way around the group to wash her hands as is required, humming something about tree of life as her count timer. Once done, she ghosts back down to a corner around the bed, gently touching a covered shoulder, arm, gently. "Yuta..." She murmurs his name, eyes closing.

When they open, a couple of minutes later, Sonia shakes her head. Tinninitus.

<Pose Tracker> Eisen Daiwel has posed.

Eisen lets out a 'hrrmm' as Koji gives him the closest thing to a vote of confidence in the moment. Eisen may normally describe himself as a 'mad scientist', but being someone in the leading biomechanical science, it also means knowing a lot about surgical practices and recovery.

"Kabuto, feel free to come in. I know it's a bit tight, but as long as Max remains seated, there should be enough room." Eisen steps back a bit, making sure there's a bit more room in the place. The bed is taking up most of it.

The bed is so big.

And compared to it, Yuta is such a small young man.

So small.

So fragile.

Laying there. Quiet. But his heart still going strong. Each 'beep' giving people the assurance that his body is still here.

When Orpheus pokes his head in, Eisen tilts his head for a moment. He isn't actually very familiar with Orpheus, nor the staff here. So his presence is just accepted. He lets someone who is more familiar with what happened answer the question - and instead just nods his head when it's asked if they are here for Yuta.

Eisen then remarks, looking at Yuta. "I am concerned." He then suddenly breaks, when Max asks how long he will be like this. He doesn't look Max in the eyes. This entire time, he's been addressing the room, he's been shifting his gaze from one person to the next, making brief eye contact. But right now, he seems almost a bit too tired to continue doing so.

He rather not think of the last words Alouette says, and instead brings something else up. "Yuta was talking about... some things in confidence with me earlier. I think he'll fight to come back to the surface, Max. But I am no expert when it comes to Gods. But I must imagine there is more than just a 'physical' wound, when your own creator stabs you with a blade, even if she doesn't finish the job." He expresses to him - using some of Alouette's words. "I don't know what's going on in there right now." Before seeing that little shake of the head by Sonia.

A little sight escapes him, before he nods his head to Max. "Gather your team tomorrow, if you can. I'll run all of you through the steps of care. The nurses will be taking care of most of it. I am not willing to send him home in this state to be taken care of by your team yet - but you may as well learn now." Which hints that there's a possibility this may take a while - which seems like a slight shift from earlier words.

"But this may be something that Yuta can't do on his own. It is very possible that Akane is the one who has to fix this. Just like how much of what is happening right now... in the end, it needs to start with her." The youth sets one hand to his hip. "Ah, that reminds me. The Nurses told me that they haven't seen you eat yet. I legitimately don't know if your species eats - but it may help the staff freak out a bit less if you look like you're taking care of yourself a bit better. Don't make me put you on watch." His voice sounding like he really means it.

"If you don't get any help on 'Junk', let me know. But I think we have some good resources at GGG and NERV to help with that. If you haven't yet, talk to Kaworu. Knowing him, he'll show up when you need him." Eisen suggests.

<Pose Tracker> Koji Kabuto has posed.

</poem> Koji looks over as a blonde boy he doesn't know asks if they're here for Yuta. "Yeah, I brought his gurney up." He's dressed in his typical red-and-gold guard suit, an olive jacket thrown over it in deference to propriety, long-since ruined with bloodstains from helping move so many of the wounded. "I don't know what happened, but it was... bad for a bit. Complications requiring a secondary operation."

He smiles as Sonia inquires about the Photon Power Lab, tiredly. "When there's time, sure, Captain."

He looks up and over into the room as Max addresses him, stepping inside. "I... sure." He doesn't really have an objection, beyond the memories of him doing exactly that, the times it was Sayaka instead of him in traction. "I'm not particularly good at building computers, but I'll help spread the word." He nods to Alouette, easily identifiable to 3G's friends, as she volunteers. "Operator Pommier can certainly help."

The way the big man is holding himself - it brings back other memories. (Tetsuya, after the Mycenaeans were vanquished.) Koji places a hand on Max's shoulder as he leans forward to place Yuta's possessions next to him. "You'll probably want to get the scarf cleaned before you give it back to him. Maybe wash your hands too."

He glances to Eisen, nodding to the NERV pilot briefly. "Good thing you were here. I think Yuta's stronger than that, though." He looks down at the tiny red-haired boy.

"Akane's hardly a god or a devil, after all." </poem>

<Pose Tracker> Orpheus Zevon has posed.

Max is the first one to address Orpheus's concern. Though in the same line he very well validates it too. It was none other than Akane Shinjo that twisted the knife. In truth, there's a mix of feelings that swirl within Orpheus. A pain at someone who's respected, to someone who's looked to him for guidance, who on some level...Orpheus had felt a degree of responsibility to look out for. On the other hand, was Akane Shinjo. Someone who he knew was in the darkness. Someone whom he could resonate with. Someone whom he's also found himself supporting in some way or another. And the worst of it is, as vile an act as it was...As much as it forces Orpheus to clutch his fists, nearly shaking. His teeth gritted yet concealed by his lips still, so much so that he nearly contemplates his Geass simply to hide his emotions. Calm down...For now, you need to know one thing.

An exhale leaves his lips, his eyes focusing back on the masked giant of a man, "What about Akane...? Did she just...?" Walk away? In truth, he imagines that's the case. If it had happened at shop Aya, the place of Rikka Takarada, that's the first impression he gets. Even if only once he recalled her now. Even back then she earnestly wanted to support Akane with such resolve. Though...Even he could have imagined that after something like this, it could have dwindled.

Regardless of an answer he takes his time to familiarize himself with those in the room. Sonia receives a nod, "NERV huh? If not for Kaworu, I'm sure I would have not met Yuta. I also imagine Shinji's not taken this well...Please keep an eye on them."

His attention drifts to Koji next, "Thanks..." It's all the young man says. Anymore felt like it'd just be fluff. Currently Orpheus wasn't exactly dressed as a student. Honestly, his attire almost looked...Nomadic in appearance. Robe-like cloth tucked into pants, a purple sash keeping it secured. For someone who was clearly Britannian in features, he really didn't look the part in his casual attire.

His attention veers to Eisen who refuses to look to the others. Probably for the best if anything. "And thank you too. I...Don't think I'll be able to help much. I don't consider myself much of a computer person. At the very least, I can try to stay in touch. If anything in his condition changes...I can at least take the time to try and help find any medicines or otherwise around town if needed..."

His attention returns back to Max a moment, "Max, Yuta let me in, a stranger into his home twice...If you guys decide to...Whatever you guys decide to do...Anything that needs help with...Find me."

<Pose Tracker> Alouette Pommier has posed.

When Max greets Alouette, she does a light French-style bow. "I've come to consider Yuta a very important friend.. so being worried about him is the very least I can do," she replies. "And thank you too, Max-san, for taking care of him so closely." Even if he can't remember his parents, Yuta has such a wonderful set of guardians.

At Max's request to speak to Yuta, she moves closer to his sleeping form. "Wake up soon, okay Yuta-kun? We're all waiting on you." Of course she'll be there to speak to him when he does awaken too.

Alouette notes Eisen's response... that it begins and ends with Akane. "I think you're right. I was thinking, solving the problems in front of us lies in healing Tsutsujidai, and when you consider what Tsutsujidai is made out of..." Saying that is easy enough though; actually making it happen when Akane only tries to escalate and escalate is the harder part.

To Orpheus's concern, she adds. "Akane can, well, teleport. So even if we tried to chase after her, there's not much of a point." She'd only seen her do it outside of Tsutsujidai, appearing to menace her in her hospital bed, but Alouette just figures she has even more free reign in the city of her creation.

As the topic shifts to Junk, and Koji volunteers her, she nods his direction. "That's right, Doctor Kabuto. I've already been taking a look at Junk, myself. It's fixable, but I'm certainly nod above asking for help. Besides that..." She looks back towards Yuta. "We might have a hard time reaching Gridman without his 'medium'."

<Pose Tracker> Yuta Hibiki has posed.

Alouette brings up an interesting point, one Max hadn't considered. "You are right, Miss Pommier. Akane Shinjo absolutely had time to kill Yuta, had she wished to. Perhaps she could not bring herself to destroy one of her creations, after all. Perhaps Yuta's efforts to reach her, all this time, have saved his life."

How many times had Yuta come to the Neon Genesis Junior High Students for advice or input on the 'memes' he crafted to send to Akane? Once a day, every day, he put something together. Even at his lowest points. Small videos of cats doing ridiculous things, or pictures of wild kaiju in particularly cute positions... Things he believe Akane would enjoy.

Max accepts that Sonia is a battleship captain without a flinch. After all, Borr is far smaller than Sonia, and they're a force to be reckoned with. "It was a delight meeting you as well, Captain Sophia-Grace." As she approaches Yuta, Max nearly rises from the chair, but he waits. Whatever she was searching for, she didn't find. "...What were you attempting just now?"

Yuta is terribly, terribly small, something Max had always been aware of, but never as much as this moment. Seeing restraints around his thin wrists only emphasizes the fragility of the young man. And despite it all, they'd forced him into battle after battle. A child, with no memory and no family, and they used him until he--

Max lowers his head, putting a hand over his eyes for a moment. He recovers by the time Eisen speaks up, though he seems to blink a little more rapidly than usual.

At Koji's touch, Max looks up. It has only been hours since he offered the same gesture to Kaworu. How strange fate is, to bring it back to him so swiftly. "...thank you. In truth, none of us know how to clean such an object. I realize there are machines for these things, but I do not wish to damage Calibur's work." He looks a little embarrassed at this admission. Max looks down at his hands, seeing flecks of the dried blood from the scarf covering them. "Mm. Thank you for the tip. Yuta is indeed a strong young man. Far more than we ever gave him credit for."

"I see." Another low rumble of the large man's voice. "It is a true rejection of her creation. That she chose to attack him with her own hands, rather than a kaiju... A serious departure from her usual behavior." A pause, and then. "We will be ready. None of us have medical experience, but as I said, we are swift learners. Whatever he needs, we will provide."

The thought of Akane having to fix Yuta makes Max freeze for a moment. "...and, Miss Pommier, you said there was still no locating Akane Shinjo? Hmm. Yes, she simply walked away after she attacked Yuta. We were occupied trying to staunch the bleeding."

Whatever reverie Max falls into at Eisen's theory is quickly broken as he's scolded for not eating. The large man stares up at Eisen, shock in his eyes, at actually being /scolded/. It's an entirely new experience, one he was certainly unprepared for. After a moment... Max nods, slowly. "I see. I do not wish to cause any distress. I will find the time to partake in... Something." Was there a cafeteria in this hospital? Max thinks he remembers seeing a sign for one.

"Thank you, Doctor Daiwel. I have spoken to Kaworu Nagisa about this. He is a good-hearted young man. Yuta speaks often of him." Max's voice gets a bit of warmth in it once more. "I am truly pleased Yuta has found so many reliable companions." He turns to Orpheus, aware the young man is struggling. His voice is soft. "Thank you, young man. My companions all dress as I do. If there is ever anything we require, I will call upon you first. Yuta would be pleased you came. He always underestimates the ways he's affected others -- he would not have expected this crowd."

Alouette sweetly replies to Max's calls for aid, and the man gruffly clears his throat, again blinking quickly. "Thank you, Miss Pommier. I am certain your voice will reach him, wherever he is. And I will be grateful for your assistance with Junk. Vit is truly beside himself, attempting to tackle it alone."

<Pose Tracker> Eisen Daiwel has posed.

There's another one of those affirmative nods from Eisen, and a 'hmm' when Koji and Orpheus both thank him, his focus on the people in the room who know what happened to Yuta. "Situations such as these often will bring gifts to the forefront you didn't even know you had." He proposes to Orpheus.

"If she can teleport, and that is a problem, and we need to confront her... perhaps that is something GGG can help with. Though it's probably not a great way to start an earnest conversation with her... I imagine that they can figure out a way to create some kind of dimensional situation to get her stuck in." It's the best Eisen can come up with. He doesn't know Akane very well, and by the way he phrases it, and the way he starts running his thumb over a smoother part of the labcoat he's wearing -- right at the sleeve -- there is discomfort there.

He knows it's not a great suggestion. But Eisen is someone who doesn't really like situations where there are no answers at all.

So he quiets for the time being, motioning towards the exit. "One moment." Feeling a bit overwhelmed is making him more aware of just how small a quarters this is, and how many people there are here. Wonderful people who all care about Yuta. So he steps out for a moment, giving people a chance to get closer to Yuta and look after the boy.

On the way out, he touches Max's elbow for a moment. "Good." Just... good. For what? He doesn't express further. As if it should be obvious.

Once standing outside of the door, he takes in a deep breath. Looking at the hospital halls. Clinical. Nurses moving around. People in labcoats. For some reason, this kind of place gives him comfort. He remains close to the door though, ready to answer any questions, or jump in with ones of his own.

<Pose Tracker> Sonia Sophia-Grace has posed.

"Please, please just call me Sonia. The only time I appreciate the full title is when we're in-combat, or you belong on my ship." She says, waving a hand absently. "Especially in situations like this." Her hand gently strokes Yuta's arm for a moment, fingertips then coming up to massage her temple, turning to Eisen.

"Doctor, any way I can convince you to a house call, later?" She asks, blue eyes gleaming with only what can only be a challenge of mischief.

She knows absolutely what she's doing there, and she is aiming to try to break a bit of the tension, even as she follows him out of the room. She is not the closest to Yuta Hibiki, but she can read the room. "Max, dear, what is Yuta's favorite color? Colors? Do you, any of you know?" She looks at the scarf, laid out on the bed...

<Pose Tracker> Sousuke Sagara has posed.

They talked about watching Tarabaman together, and it just never quite lined up, did it? Utsumi and Sagara didn't quite mesh together. He saw Rikka a good bit, out and about, and spoke to Yuta only a precious little.

Still, the more he thinks about it, the more he finds himself thinking of Leina, and Kaname, and Kallen. People who shouldn't have to know what it's like to be under fire. People who shouldn't be in this kind of danger.

When Sousuke Sagara appears, his face is stone. With the oppressive, permanent rain, he's dressed in a (military-issue, if you know what you're looking for) yellow raincoat, under which is the white button-down shirt of the Jindai uniform's base layer. The only marker of his haste is that the raincoat is still on and dripping.

..."Stabbed," he says, blank.

Right to the gut. His head spins, turning the situation inside out. He'd focused on their mobile suit training, and let himself get distracted by protecting Kaname when it became clear their skills were adequate. Should he have settled for that? Was there more? CQC training wasn't even in his responsibilities.

He doesn't speak.

<Pose Tracker> Sonia Sophia-Grace has posed.

Max asks his question, though, as she goes to leave, and Sonia halts, stepping to the side to allow new people into the room.

"I ... am not precisely sure how to frame it. He's here, physically. It is as Eisen has said, though - he's just comatose. I'm ... the common parlance, as it would be, am a Newtype. I'm was trying to see if I could sense him, on a level further... hm. On a different level, to call him home that way." This is said calmly; one does not live in the Brittania Union and not come to terms with what you are.

"I ... couldn't reach him. This could just be a failure on my end, over anything else. I'm not sure. Do not take this as a code for anything." She murmurs. "There are those that don't respond in the way others do."

<Pose Tracker> Koji Kabuto has posed.

"... I'm not a quantum brainwave expert," Koji says as Sophia explains what she was trying to do, "but I have enough close Newtype friends that I've picked up a few things. Psychic communication of that kind is... unpredictable, especially if the intended recipient is in a coma. After what happened to Kamille, he was unconscious for years even with Fa looking after him, and those two are very closely bonded."

Years out here in the void, away from everyone at the Lab... He swallows. "Hopefully Yuta gets through this a lot faster. Just because you couldn't make contact doesn't mean he isn't there." He puts a hand on the unconscious boy's. "Right, kiddo? There's still somebody you have to save, after all."

<Pose Tracker> Alouette Pommier has posed.

"I hope so too," Alouette nods at Max. "Vit working so hard isn't easy to imagine," she manages a slight laugh. "But I'm sure it means he's doing everything he can for Gridman, in his own way." She stops for just a moment. "By the way, don't worry about payment for helping with Junk." At least for herself, if someone else helping decides to take the cash, she won't stop 'em. "For now, just focus on taking care of Yuta, you've sacrificed enough."

As Eisen mentions if 3G would be able to stop her teleportation, Alouette hesitates. "...I don't know. We theorized that it was Alexis Kerib granting her those powers, and he's even harder to reach." Not that Alouette is the type of girl he would be interested in anymore, anyways. "Besides that, I don't think trapping her will help any. But I hope we can find her."

She feels a presence from behind her, and it turns out to be that Sagara boy from Jindai(that she beat in the Millympic games, but it's not important right now). "Yes," she responds at his one-word observation. "He's out of danger.. but his presence is far away." A coma, in other words.

The Newtype presence is a particularly interesting one, where Sonia can't seem to feel him at all. "Yes.. like I said, far away, but he's not gone." She trust's Koji's perspective on this.

<Pose Tracker> Orpheus Zevon has posed.

"Teleport...I see..." It would have explained one of their interactions, though even now it seemed even with the ability to create worlds, the ability to teleport just never felt the same set of skills. There's a mix of relief and worry. A relief to know of Akane likely not being approached at this time, though at the same time...He would have hoped someone--No, even if it wasn't with these people, he was certain there were those who would end up reaching their hands out towards the girl. Alouette and Kouji would receive a look as if letting them know he'd be coming into the room soon enough to speak with Yuta.

In the meanwhile, he keeps his attention back to Max and Eisen, "Mmm, I remember. Mr. Calibur and the little one that always got mouthy. I was glad you were all keeping Yuta company. I couldn't imagine what he'd be dealing with if not for you guys coming to check in with him frequently. I hope you all continue that. As for...Dr...Daiwel...?" He still didn't seem like the face of someone who was a doctor, albeit that was what they were calling him. Though he doesn't recall that name on the charts either. "Perhaps you're right. Only time will tell." Sometimes you don't like what comes from the forefront. Seeing what you had kept hidden. Though he can only hope should such a thing transpire well...

At this point he makes it to the other side of Yuta after sanitizing. The young man goes down on a knee as he lets out a sigh. "Oi...I had heard about what happened...When I said love was like a battlefield...I meant you needed to be subtle, not go in guns-a-blazing. When you get out of this...I'll try to give you more concise advice from now on. Though...I also need to say something else..."

At this point, Orpheus leans in towards Yuta's ear, his voice so soft that even a New-Type wouldn't be able to hear the thoughts that went from mind to lips as they were spoken...

<Pose Tracker> Eisen Daiwel has posed.

"A house call? I'm..." Grimace, pause, headtilt. "... a surgeon. Not some common doctor." Really trying hard not to say Mad Scientist there. Especially with Orpheus chiming in about 'Dr Daiwel?'. "But if you just want to talk, we can talk after this." He answers Sonia, as he steps out of Sousuke Sagara's way. He's not familiar with the stoic soldier, but he can't help but raise his brow in bemusement as they just declare 'stabbed'.

"Correct." Eisen simply ansswers Sousuke, and leaves him to the rest to handle. He assumes he must be another friend. His focus is more on Max when Sonia gives him the news. Eisen is by no means an expert on NewType-ism. But he understands one thing. When someone like Sonia can't find the person within...

There may be a bigger problem.

Luckily, both Koji and Alouette ease some of his thoughts on the matter. Especially when Kamille is brought up. "I see. I am glad that my theory was a bit off the mark then." He offers. "Still, talking to him might help him stop being as far away. It's the only thing I know about Comas that has helped in the past." He isn't a long term care doctor, so those aren't the kinds of books he normally reads.

<Pose Tracker> Yuta Hibiki has posed.

Eisen gently touches Max's elbow. Max looks up at the young man, warmth in his eyes. "Thank you, Dr. Daiwel. We are at your service, should you need anything."

Then, the doctor takes his leave. Max wonders about that, but his duty is to Yuta, now. Perhaps another of his companions will tend to Eisen. Despite his capable nature, and fantastic appearance, he certainly has a heart as soft as any other in Yuta's hospital room.

Alouette manages to bring a quiet laugh out of Max as well. "Indeed, it is a rare sight. Being deprived of his posting habits seems to have spurred on great dedication to his duties. And thank you, Miss Pommier." Max doesn't have the words to tell Alouette how kind and sweet she is, how much it means to him in this moment... Yuta is far better in these situations. "You are a blessing."

"As you say, er, Sonia." Max manages it with only a minor stumble at being called 'dear'. If he wasn't wearing his mask, his blush would be vibrant. "As for Yuta's favorite color, it is red. Even before he began to explore his fascination with expressing himself by means of clothing, he gravitated toward red objects. Thus..." Max gestures to the scarf. "My companion, Samurai Calibur, created this scarf with his own hands."

Max listens to Sonia with growing concern in his blue eyes. "A Newtype, I have become familiar with the term. So though Yuta is present physically, you cannot reach his... mind? His spirit?" Max grasps for answers. "That... feels quite dire. I will attempt to quell my worries for the moment. Perhaps another Newtype, or several of them combined, could reach Yuta?"

Sousuke appears, and Max raises an eyebrow. At the word "stabbed", he nods. "Yes. Though thanks to Dr. Daiwel's efforts, he should be stable at last. I recognize it is difficult to see Yuta in this state, but I have been assured these medical... tubes, and such, are for his benefit." The Hyper Agent can't seem to bring himself to address the restraints by name. "Please, come inside. Would you like a seat?"

Koji touches Yuta's hand. It's warm, even if he doesn't offer any response. Max searches the young man's face for any change, and sighs quietly when he finds none. "Kamille... Would that be Dr. Bidan? Yuta met him, once. They seemed to quickly forge a friendship. Perhaps his guidance may be helpful... And thank you. I believe, despite everything, Yuta will never give up on Akane Shinjo. Nothing has shaken his faith in her yet."

"Don't let Borr hear you calling them that." Max says, a hint of a smile in his voice. "The punishment would be swift and terrible. They have a particular nack for kicking shins. And do not fear, young man. Yuta will not be alone for even a moment. We achieved that with Gridman, we will achieve it with Yuta, as well."

Orpheus approaches Yuta as well. Max seems at ease with this young man. The advice comment does make him rasise an eyebrow -- had Orpheus gotten wind of Yuta's failed confession to Rikka, or his attempt with Kaworu? But all the same, Max smiles. If Orpheus wishes to have his private moment with Yuta, Max will not seek to interfere. "Thank you. He always looked up to you -- your word may as well have been scripture, for the way Yuta speaks of it. Your words will find him, wherever he is."

<Pose Tracker> Sousuke Sagara has posed.

Sousuke takes...a weirdly long time. But then, he's always been a guy who spends a long time thinking.

But he does take down the hood, remove the raincoat and fold it. Eisen passes; a shared glance and nothing more. "Pommier," he says, rallying himself enough to make greetings. He doesn't understand presences. But he does say, "I see." And then, after apparently working his head a little more: "An injury like that would get dangerous quickly...it's good that he's past the worst, then."

He does approach, at Max's invite. The talk of Newtypes is...not his concern. He doesn't understand such things. "They are," Sousuke affirms. He's seen good men in this state before.

He's seen good men fail to awaken from this state before, too. His jaw sets, teeth against teeth.

Would he like a seat? "It's not a problem," he says, eyes scanning up and down. He couldn't really call Yuta a friend. Still. ...still. "I am used to standing."

None of this should be happening. A thought that clatters out of his brain and lands in two different tracks.

<Pose Tracker> Alouette Pommier has posed.

"..Aw, /merci/," Alouette can't help but warmly smile, when Max calls her a blessing. When it comes to Junk just doing what she does best after all. While being here for Yuta is a completely different type of care.
%She subsequently makes room for Orpheus to enter the room, and Eisen to step out.

"Sagara-san," Alouette greets in kind. /Technically/, they'd been classmates at Jindai. But Alouette can count the amount of times she actually attended that school on one hand - and one of them was competing for Tsutsujidai.

"Without the emergency lines, it almost took a turn for the worst. Thankfully we had the means to drive him here timely and safely," she explains. ...No need to mention that the car in question can talk.

Max's assertion that Yuta won't ever give up on Akane also makes Alouette ponder for a moment, as she remembers Akane's own claim that "she made them that way". She doesn't voice this thought, but she does wonder if a girl so insistent on "giving up" would really be responsible for that trait.

<Pose Tracker> Sonia Sophia-Grace has posed.

Eisen's reaction to the request gets Sonia to giggle, light, happy sound - a reminder that good things still are happening here. Faith.

"Yes, thank you dear doctor." A pause and she glances at Max. "I knit myself. It won't replace a gift from Calibur, but I'm happy to work with my hands. A surprise after all this... it would cheer -me- up." Eisen might be more comforted by a ball of yarn to shove in her mouth, but Yuta seems like a sweeter teen than the chuuni.

"Look for my ship, if you need me. Any of you." She says, finishing her way out of the room.
