Hailing ostensibly from an obscure tourist-trap of a colony, Eight York is a promising young officer in Londo Bell, notable for balancing cheer and extreme competence. Her path to Captaincy has seen death and despair already, but she maintains a positive attitude, and her people skills, optimism, and general resilience have won her the loyalty of her crew thus far. ...Secretly, though, the higher-ups in her organization are aware of some details of her mysterious past, including the abilities awakened in her by means she does not discuss. This past may relate to why it’s impossible to find records of her early childhood--or why she excuses herself whenever the conflicts of the late 80s arise.

Background

Public knowledge of Eight York's background indicates that she has been in the Federation military since a little after her high school graduation, in 0096, and prior to that she was a resident of Winter Wonderland for about ten years. This is where information on her history dries up, however; the records simply aren't there to explain where she was before the age of nine or ten.

However, her service record is exemplary already; formerly the Comms Officer on the Ra Mari, Eight York became Captain during a series of tragic incidents about the Winter Wonderland colony, during which time nearly all of the senior officers of the ship perished. Her quick thinking and readiness to lead earned her a promotion, and the ship she'd saved.
