Daughter of a government minister of Area 11, Shari Loom has only recently started attending Ashford Academy--at about the time her father got his job. She is known as a brilliant student who is somewhat withdrawn, favoring dark clothes and other obvious signs of teenage rebellion in minor ways, though she still participates in her way in school life, such as through tennis. She doesn't see her family much, and is used to that. However, she has a very unusual part-time job: mechanic for Celestial Being. The truth is that the terrible whispers that give her insight into academic subjects and high technology also drive her to /use/ that knowledge, and she has set a woman on the path to being a queen of darkness with her power. Motivated less by grand ideology and more by pacifying the voices invading her mind, Shari represents a hidden danger to the world that may yet prove the undoing of many.
