Saraven Vai is a mobile suit pilot associated with the Sleeves by way of the Mars Zeon Independence Army. Known by the red-baron of the Lilac Gale of Mars, she pilots the AMS-123XS Varguil Complete as part of a Mars Zeon task force operating in the Earth Sphere. She is a potent Newtype, but frequently appears emotionally withdrawn, even in the face of immense danger to her person.

Known background

Saraven's origin is relatively obscure outside of the Mars Sphere, where she first appeared in roughly 0091 as a child pilot of astounding proficiency. Her track record remained unknown in the Earth Sphere until an engagement in 0093, in which Federation records of an intercept of a ship inbound from Mars document a Qubeley with a distinctive lilac shoulder demolishing a squad of crack Londo Bell troops just after the Axis Shock.

In the years following Char's counterattack, Saraven was transferred to the full-spec Varguil, completed by Mars Zeon with the assistance of psycoframe technology. She spent the inter-conflict years tracking down rebellious ex-Titans on the Martian surface amid the havoc caused by the invasian of the Jovian Lizards. By late 0095, however, she would be attached to the Mars Zeon task force dispatched to Earth to assist the Sleeves.

Resources

Saraven is an exceptionally skilled pilot, skills suited to her assignment to the AMX-123XS Varguil Complete. The unit was smuggled to Mars following the Axis Shock and completed to its full specification, removing the older-generation psycommu and replacing it with a next-generation psycoframe cockpit similar to that developed for the Sazabi or Nu Gundam. These modifications enable significantly higher reaction time and performance as well as reliable operation of the Varguil's funnel systems.

Saraven demonstrates highly elevated levels of quantum brainwave activity, likely among the upper percentile of Newtypes. Her neural and emotional activity are unusually flattened, but her foresight, orientation and predictive abilities are highly attuned. She is capable of maneuvering through impossible situations through the sheer strength of her foresight, and can successfully engage large numbers of enemies without losing track of them.
