Axis Shock

The Axis Shock marked the end of the Third Neo Zeon War in 0093.

Char Aznable, claiming that humanity could not be trusted to let the Earth heal itself and that incidents like the Devil Gundam proved humanity lacked both the expertise and the political will to take such a responsibility, attempted to drop Axis on the Earth.

Char was thwarted by the Londo Bell task force accomplishing the impossible task of pushing an asteroid of Axis's size away from the Earth after it began descent, with the help of Neo Zeon pilots who decided, mid-battle, that such a miracle was worth believing in. This miracle left a rainbow across space for weeks afterward.
