Lieutenant Junior-Grade Callisto Diana is a taciturn young woman who walked straight from her high-school graduation into an officer role with no questions asked. The ease with which she did this only makes her truncated citizenship records and sudden appointment more suspicious. In truth, Callisto is actually a lab-grown Newtype whose real 'name' is Puru Two; groomed from birth as a loyal attack dog for Neo Zeon and sent into the fray at just ten years old. The trauma of the First Neo-Zeon Conflict would eventually overpower her conditioning and lead to her turning on her creators, and she’s lived a double life ever since. Unsuited to civilian life, Puru Two has cut a deal with the beleaguered Londo Bell for clemency and shelter in exchange for an enlistment period or two... but this too is a light ruse. Armed with a new identity and autonomy from this deal, she stalks the Earth Sphere in search of any signs of other survivors from her line of clones and the cabal who made them.

Background

Puru Two is the product of a dubious Zeonic science experiment and not an actual human relationship, which is never a good start. She was sequenced in a laboratory sometime in 0079 as part of a program to make psychically-sensitive girl scouts, and looks curiously like a distant cousin to the Zabi family. Weaned on a diet of hypnotic instruction, growth-boosting compounds and military training, Zeon's unfortunate batting score in the One Year War meant that she and her clone family somehow wound up under the management of an ambitious nobleman named Glemy Toto: the man who thought the only thing better than keeping a cellar of naked children in fridges was using them as psychic foot-soldiers.

She was a menace who dogged the AEUG in the first Neo Zeon War repeatedly until getting a taste of human kindness via Judau Ashta and his friends. Since she was a ten-year-old child who had recently killed her elder sister, this threw her programming for a loop. Puru Two would turn on her creators near the war's end, leaving Glemy Toto to be disintegrated by Roux Louka. Bye!

Since the conclusion of that conflict, Puru Two caught a bad case of the paranoia after fighting off a kidnapping attempt (it's not great out there for stateless newtype orphans who turned traitor on insane science bankrollers, folks) and disappeared into the asteroid belt to claim asylum, which is arguably easier than accessing the Federation public healthcare system.

Eight years later, Puru Two is convinced everything still sucks, but she has a new legal identity as 'Callisto Diana', a war-orphan who grew up on Side 1, and has delivered herself right back into the maw of the war machine because it's the only way she knows how to make a difference. C'est la vie.

Ra Mari Crew

Arriety Hearn	A soft-spoken orphaned classmate from Side 1 who got sucked into the orbit of war, something that makes Puru Two upset to see. An Actual Friend That She Made. She considers Arriety an adopted sister.
Rena Lancaster	A fiercely reliable orphaned classmate from Side 1. Puru Two respects Rena's decision to enlist, though she considers her too bright to be wasted on the military. She's watching to see how the mantle of squad-level leadership weighs on Rena's shoulders, but otherwise doesn't feel the need to interfere much.
Eight York	An enigmatic orphaned classmate from Side 1. Puru Two has her suspicions about Eight's real nature and past, because the two of them seem to have pulled the same flavour of deal with Londo Bell. That's as far as Puru Two has gone snooping for now, because that's a big glass house she'd be throwing stones in, especially when it's Eight's ship she's squirreled away safely on. It's weirdly soothing to know someone else is maybe a screwed up child-soldier leveraging their exploited youth for big gains.
Anita Rosetta	A calming orphaned classmate from Side 1. Puru Two is sympathetic to Anita's sometimes-lackadaisical pace, figuring it might be the result of those extensive wounds and prosthetics the poor girl has had to live with. That's why Anita's decision to serve in the military took her by surprise. Puru Two is confident that Anita has the skills to survive in combat, but she isn't sure she has the resolve to kill on command.
BC-001 Minae	The resident mental-health expert for all these Side 1 war orphans. Puru Two would argue the Super-AI has done a better job helping her beat depression than most counselors, even if she finds it innately unnerving that she can't get a psychic read on what a machine is thinking in the same way she can for another Human. It's easy to forget that the idiosyncratic and excitable Minae has already done her time with the Gutsy Geoid Guard and can kick someone's ass without blinking if necessary.
Dr. Kamille Bidan	The resident physician aboard the Ra Mari. Puru Two knows he has some secrets of his own, but also knows better than to go prying around another powerful Newtype. Something about the colour of his presence reminds her of Dublin...

Nadesico Crew

Yurika Misumaru	The Captain of the Nadesico. Puru Two doesn't know her as well as some of the other crew, but there's no second-guessing her tactical acumen. She seems a bit... naïve about some issues, but thankfully commanding a ship is not one of them.
Ruri Hoshino	The Systems Operator on the Nadesico is an interesting girl. She's maybe the smartest person Puru Two has ever met. They get along pretty well, and naturally, Puru Two would kill everyone in this room if anything happened to her.
Ryoko Subaru	The Nadesico's resident ace pilot. Puru Two can sense there's something she doesn't want to talk about, but that's okay: we all have things we'd rather gloss over. She appreciates the way Ryoko can keep track of things even with a head full of steam.
Howmei	The head Chef of the Nadesico. You can't slip anything past her, so don't even try. Puru Two appreciates her not only for being a damn fine chef, but for being a damn fine friend to Arriety Hearn.

Familiar Souls

Puru Twelve	She felt her presence... saw her face, if only briefly. But it was enough. At least one member of her original family still lives. To remember this is to be overcome with unfamiliar emotion. It hurts still, and yet, there is hope.
Judau Ashta	The boy who saved her life all those years ago has grown up into a fine young lout. It's equal parts apprehension and joy seeing him again. How have they both changed after all this time? Why did he come back from Jupiter to the war-torn Earth Sphere?
Roux Louka	The woman who ultimately set her free from Glemy Toto's yoke. By vaporizing him with a beam rifle. Fate conspires to bring the two together again on the same ship, but this time, Puru Two hopes to contribute more to the effort than lying in a sickbay cot and groaning. Measuring up to one of Judau's trusted friends will no doubt be very difficult.

Anti	Puru Two has come to the conclusion the strange yelling boy piloting the Death Knight is pursuing a goal unrelated to any modern military-political hijinks. His desperation, insistence that he wants his hometown left in peace, that someone needs and wished for him... it means something else. If he can find peace, maybe the attacks will stop.
Asuka Shikinami Langley	Puru Two thinks the angry girl from NERV is a bit of a hothead. But the last time they were in a combat zone, she could feel the mess of emotions coming off of the Second Child, so she has a slightly better idea what's going on with her now. Slightly.
