Smooth and straight raven-black hair lands just past her upper back when it's rarely not secured in a high ponytail, with bangs that loosely sweep towards the center of her face and are kept just out of her eyes so as not to interfere with her duties. Vivid crimson eyes are oft-underscored with dark circles against her pale features, a testament to her tendency toward sleepless nights past and present. Her stature can only be described as diminutive, the young woman having grudgingly abandoned the prospect of a last gasp of growth now that she's into her twenties; when standing at attention, she falls just above 143 centimeters tall. She's slender with very little muscle to be found on her frame, save for the passive tone in her arms that's earned from tinkering about with machinery on a near-daily basis. Both earlobes bear the marks of being pierced, but are most frequently absent any adornment. When she's in more casual settings, two small dark plastic studs are worn in their place.
Her wardrobe is best described as utilitarian - it's clearly not her primary focus. When she's on-duty, it's almost exclusively coveralls, lab coats, or pilot suits. Anything with a Low-G potential sees her wearing pants, no matter how stylish the event. When she's left to her own devices, her 'fashion' tends to be a mishmash of skirts with leggings or tall socks, pants, graphic tees, and thin hooded sweatshirts, depending on the weather and climate conditions of the area.
Background
Since she made her way to space, a number of life-changing upheavals saw Anser in Zeon, before throwing in her lot with Nanai Miguel after the events of Axis Shock. Whether torso-deep in the guts of a mobile suit's frame to make finishing touches on the actuation of a damaged limb or fine-tuning the thrusters on a fighter, Anser Vulpecula is an undeniable talent when it comes to maintenance and engineering. An accomplished pilot in both civilian and military crafts, she makes for a rarely seen but often-felt presence on the occasions she's sortied. She has an inclination to keep to herself if left to her own devices, but the duties with which she's signed on for seldom mean she's actually afforded the luxury of alone time, so there are frequent venues with which to approach the diminutive engineer. She's slow to befriend, but fiercely protective of those who she counts among that small number.
Relationships
Anser is, by nature, a prickly individual. This tends to mean that by definition, her relationships are few and far between - but not nonexistent. Those that she holds at a distance are typically referred to by their title, full name, or last name; typically in that order.
Friends and Allies
Name | Description | Brief |
---|---|---|
Nanai Miguel | Currently, the most trusted woman in Anser's life. She's learned a great deal about working on pyscommu and Psychoframe technology as a whole by studying under her. | She makes me look like I'm a child playing with toys. Worthy of every ounce of respect she gets, and every ounce of respect she doesn't. I couldn't ask for a better mentor. |
Shelby Korts | A trusted compatriot, and Anser gets weirdly possessive when someone else repairs the pink-haired Newtype's Jagd Doga. Probably because she likes that Jagd Doga. | Korts? She's a capable pilot, but she needs to be more mindful of her health, even if she -- wait, why do you ask? Who did you say you were with, again? State your business. |
Shuffle Alliance | She followed along with Nanai's group and joined the Shuffle Alliance. There's some distrust due to having been burned once before, but she does view them as allies. | We'll just have to see if their ideals are what we think they are. They'll do. For now. |
Rivals
No one Anser has met falls into this category thus far - she has professional peers, allies, and enemies. Rivals, she feels, are for those without common sense.
Enemies
Name | Description | Brief |
---|---|---|
Char Aznable | As a young Crewman 2nd Class on the Rewloola who enlisted during the brokered peace with the federation and prior to Char's subsequent declaration of war and attempted colony drops, she thinks only word of the man: Betrayal, and he likely doesn't even know her name, given her short tenure. His ideals were why she threw her lot in with the Republic of Zeon - and his heel-turn into a petty terrorist and his reckless obsession with Amuro Ray shattered the path forward she envisioned for the future. Bringing Char up is the quickest way to sour her expression. | A coward, a terrorist, and a charlatan. I don't blame anyone for believing his honeyed words, but I do resent the 'past me' who believed in him. |
Amuro Ray | She holds him nearly as responsible for the events leading up to Axis Shock as Char Aznable, but her dislike pales in comparison to her vitriol to Char. | Just another hot-blooded pilot in more machine than he deserved to have. |
BioNet | By reputation alone, her distaste of this group is intense. | Science isn't the perversion they've made of it, and they have no right to call themselves scientists. |
Maddie's Cooking | There is no greater terror and crime against culinary senses as Maddie's cooking. The many interpretations and approximations of 'scrapple' have left her scarred for life. Chocolate MRE Rations should not be used that way. The two are especially not meant to be mixed into a single dish. Everything about this is wrong and terrible. | ...no, I'm... not hungry. |
