As factions change, this page will maintain a list of factions that no longer exist, and the circumstances under which they ceased to exist.

Phase 1 Factions

Earth Federation Member Factions

AEU Forces, BU Forces, REA Forces, and G-Hound: Rolled into the Gaia Sabers.

OCU Forces: Rolled into the Grand Glorious Guard.

Londo Bell: Although it remained a fighting force by technicality until the end of the Earth Federation, many of its most prominent members took part in the Three Ships Alliance rebellion. Those who remained to the end likely found work within Cathedra, the Space Assembly League, or Gaia Sabers.

Non-Federation Factions

Amalgam: Largely achieved their goals in creating instability in the Earth Sphere, and continue their work in various factions. Leonard Testarossa and his supporters currently work with BioNet.

Black Knights: Following the Bloody Euphemia massacre in December 0097, the Britannian military enacted martial law in Area 11. In the chaos of the fighting, what remained of the Black Knights scattered to various anti-NUNE rebel factions, such as Dawn of Fold and Satellicon.

Celestial Being: Following the formation of the NUNE in 0098, a Gaia Sabers force was tasked with destroying Celestial Being once and for all in a show of force. While Ribbons and the Innovades now scheme within the Gaia Sabers, the Ptolemy crew now works with Satellicon. Others, such as the Silent Calling, took cause with the Dawn of Fold.

Nergal Heavy Industries: While Nergal is still thriving as a company, it is no longer a top-level faction and has been rolled into Terminal as one of its financial backers.

Shuffle Alliance: In July 0098, a series of seemingly unrelated attacks shook the Earth Sphere. In the chaos, Merida Island was destroyed by Amalgam forces, and Sayla Mass made the call to disband the greater Shuffle Alliance, believing it can no longer continue in the current state of the world. They have scattered to various factions, including Terminal, Satellicon, and the Grand Glorious Guard.

Sleeves: Largely fallen apart with the defeat of their leader, Full Frontal in 0097. Many Sleeves who wish to continue the fight have joined the Dawn of Fold under the banner of Angelo Sauper, while Bhakarov plots to return Zeon to its full glory.

Three Ships Alliance: No longer on a war footing, and with Eight Orlodhari's leadership, it has become Terminal, under the name of the Magallanica Defense Forces.

ZAFT: With Rau Le Crueset's death in early 0097, ZAFT was no longer at war with the Earth Federation. Following the accession of the PLANTs to the Space Assembly League, Gilbert Durandal's ZAFT is a part of its forces. Those not loyal to Durandal and who wish to continue the fight have allied with the Anti-Earth Cooperative Federation, through the Jovian Federation.
