FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Details regarding miracle phenomenon "Oath Over Omega" and the cognitocontagion "Algernon"
Oath Over Omega (Triple Zero for short, abbr. T0) is the name assigned by the Gutsy Galaxy Guard and Gutsy Global Guard referring to an energy that originates from the universal seed. During the cycle of universal life and death, the entire energy of the universe's whole contents is temporarily contained within a hypercompressed space known as Orange Site. While condensed into this extreme state, that energy is capable of feats which can only be called miraculous. It also obtains a rudimentary intentionality to preserve the cycle of cosmic life and death, thus ensuring its own existence, imprinted into the very flow of that power itself. It is from this that the phenomenon derives its name: A will which survives even the ultimate ending. This intention has also been informally termed as "Cosmic Law."
Those exposed to T0 for extended periods of time have this intention forced into their thought process. Due to the repeated incidents of intelligent life forms performing miraculous activities which would break this cycle, and the inevitable wish for miracle-performing civilizations to supercede such cosmic limits, affected persons inevitably conclude that all intelligent life in the universe must be destroyed, returning the cosmic-scale energy cycle to unhindered balance. Individuals so influenced have been designated "Ruin Apostles."
Ruin Apostles are not brainwashed as-such but rather have Cosmic Law forced to the top of their personal priorities. Expect them to have totally undiminished capabilities and otherwise adhere to their existing personality. If a Ruin Apostle can be restrained, Purification is possible by GGG's Mobile Division. The exposure levels required to indoctrinate someone into Cosmic Law are difficult to reach during a combat situation, so conversion mid-battle should be considered a negligible concern.
At the moment, many members of the Gutsy Galaxy Guard who departed the Solar System five years ago have become Ruin Apostles. Their recovery and Purification is considered a priority, but please treat them with extreme caution. They are no less of Braves just for their exposure to Cosmic Law, and are all very capable. In particular, be advised that through Escape Window technology, they may launch attacks at any point with essentially zero notice. Bases defending critical global infrastructure are advised to remain particularly on guard.
Machinery infected by T0 emits a high-energy particle similar to the Elementary Particle Z0 emitted by Zonders. This particle has been designated as Z0-Similar. Please report all Z0-Similar readings to GGG Orbit Base.
Algernon is an affliction of the brain which affects only humans. Algernon causes nervous signal breakdown within the human brain, leading to irrational behavior that eventually progresses into violent outbursts. Provided the afflicted does not kill themselves, their condition eventually will.
Algernon may have a long incubation cycle, where the affected person will appear completely normal while quietly performing irrational activities out of sight. Often, the affliction does not become apparent until the final stages, where the patient fully loses contact with reality and enters a murderous state.
Algernon is not a biologically-based infection. Rather, Algernon is initiated from contact with 'forces beyond the ability of humanity to defeat.' This subconscious recognition of a supreme enemy triggers a human's topmost survival instinct, which causes the human brain to set off neurological processes that disrupt the host's life and the lives of those around them, before ultimately killing the host. It is not contagious via traditional means, although too much incautious exposure to an affected person's words may instill Algernon by causing the same survival instinct reaction in the listener. For this reason Algernon is considered a memetic hazard.
This is a process much similar to the bodily process wherein an infected cell will destroy itself in order to signal to the rest of the body's immune system that a threat is present. In this case, the summoned defense is the Somniums, a primate species capable of rapid evolution to attain superior survival in any situation. For this ability to be at all times better-equipped for any situation, they are also known as Bettermen.
Some time after death, a fruiting stem will appear on the face of an Algernon victim. This is an Animus Fruit and should only be handled by trained personnel from GGG or an associated entity.
