"Victory goes... to the one with courage!"

The Brave Series constitutes a long metaseries of 1990s mecha shows. All series in the franchise share the word Brave (勇者) in their names, and common aesthetics and themes.

Brave Express MightGaine

The story follows 15-year-old Maito Senpuuji, the orphan CEO of the Senpuuji Concern, Japan's largest rail firm. Seeking justice and answers to the question of his parents' murder, Maito finds himself in conflict with a rogue's gallery of petty criminals, anti-heroes, evil scientists, and secret societies... but are these disparate evil forces really so disparate?

Brave Police J-Decker

Fourth grader Yuta Tomonaga befriends Deckerd, a police robot with an advanced AI. Through this friendship, he teaches Deckerd about courage and justice, and equips him with the emotional core necessary to pursue justice as J-Decker, of the Brave Police Corps. Yuta and J-Decker fight mecha-scale crime throughout Japan and the world.

King of Kings: GaoGaiGar vs. Betterman

Set ten years after GaoGaiGar FINAL, the GGG team is reunited after the bittersweet ending of GaoGaiGar FINAL, facing yet another threat of absolutely enormous scale -- one hidden in The Power at Jupiter.

Integration Notes

The following are elements of the Brave Series that had to change, shift, or otherwise be altered as part of integration on SRTMOO.

GaoGaiGar vs. Betterman

  • The Algernon outbreak eight years prior was somewhat smaller. Algernon infection peaked late in the Gryps Conflict; since 0093, the condition has become vanishingly rare.
  • The nature of The Power (variously rendered with text effects or ANSI colors to indicate its status as a proper noun) has changed slightly from canon. With reveals from GaoGaiGar vs. Betterman, this has also slightly shifted some elements of certain GaoGaiGar antagonists.
  • The Gutsy Global Guard is a part of the broader NERV apparatus. Likewise, the OCU and the Federation have superseded the Japanese government and the UN.
  • Bay Tower is situated in Nouvelle Tokyo from Brave Express MightGaine.
  • BioNet has been rolled together with similarly-motivated organizations from other shows, such as the Macross Galaxy Fleet and Treasure Robotics. This gives characters with BioNet hooks in their backgrounds a more robust organization to have heat with.
  • The Limpid Channel operates in the same general sense as other similar quantum brainwave/emotion-perception abilities like Newtypes.

MightGaine

  • The world is not completely-to-primarily dependent on trains for travel; however, rail is a more common and robust form of travel than in real life, especially in the Neo Colonies.
  • Nouvelle Tokyo is one of three Tokyos.
  • Treasure Robotics has been integrated into BioNet -- or, arguably, BioNet has been turned into a broader-mandate version of Treasure Robotics. In addition to giving the Earth-based Brave Series antagonists some fun interplay (and getting Macross in on the fun), this provides some scaffolding for science criminal OCs.
  • The nature of Black Noir has changed significantly. Any character who needs this information will be read in on it either as part of the application process or once approved.

Phase 2 Adjustments

  • The timing of the death of Maito's parents has been adjusted to allow a prospective Maito apper to come in at an age closer to his canon age.
  • This means in turn that MightGaine's antagonists are somewhat more "established antagonists" than in canon, as they've been referred to while the Brave Express team largely has not.

J-Decker

  • As in Super Robot Wars 30, J-Decker-style Super AI Police are a recent development due to fear of Super AI brought on by events like Dr. Hell's uprising and the apparent coup by the Gutsy Galaxy Guard.
  • Excellent Inc., like Treasure Robotics, has been placed adjacent to BioNet.
  • As a condition of operating Super AI units, the Brave Police Corps must make themselves available to NERV for disaster response and threat neutralization as needed. Despite this, and a cozy relationship with the Gutsy Global Guard and Ultra Series's STORAGE, the Brave Police Corps are officially part of the OCU Forces faction.
  • The Highjussians, if they come up, will have some different traits and intersections. Due to their somewhat "in flux" nature, they may be tied into Post-Hoc Integration for other shows.
  • Fahrzeugronne chips figure in in some way in most modern computers and weapons. Unupdated gear from 0078 or earlier generally lacks Fahrzeugronne integration; almost everything from the Gryps Conflict on definitely has it.
  • At this time staff does not know enough about Gaizonite to deal with it. If you want to use Gaizonite, please tell staff what its deal is and what you want to do with it.
