General Revil

Johann Ibrahim Revil (0020-0079) was an Advanced European Union Lieutenant General selected as the third leader of the Earth Federal Space-Defense Force (EFSF) in 0078, following in the footsteps of Bruno J. Global and Lord Edmund Mallory. General Revil's appointment to the role was contentious, as most of the other blocs felt that appointing an AEU national three consecutive times allowed the bloc disproportionate control over other military bodies.

The One Year War broke out before such complaints could coalesce into any consequential action. General Revil was captured by the Principality of Zeon during the early stages of the war after the destruction of his flagship by the Black Tri-Stars. After escaping with the aid of Zeonic defectors, Revil announced to the Earth Sphere that Zeon was strapped for resources and had overcommitted in its initial raids; the speech, generally dubbed the "Zeon is Exhausted!" speech, is generally credited with extending the war and allowing the Federation's victory, for better or for worse.

Revil met his end near the end of the war, during a meeting with Degwin Sodo Zabi to discuss the terms of an armistice. Degwin's son, Gihren Zabi, fired a Colony laser at both delegations, killing Revil, Degwin, and most of those who directly reported to them in the blast.

General Revil was a believer in Zeon Zum Deikun's Newtype theory, and is often speculated to have been a Newtype himself.
