A witty, smooth man, Kathras Fari is popular and well-liked on the Ra Mari, always pushing himself to be more useful and more helpful to those around him. A career in Londo Bell seemed natural for a guy from Londenion, and he was happy to join up. He is, indeed, a pleasant guy for the most part... But the truth is that he pushes himself extra-hard in part because of deeply inculcated beliefs about Natural supremacy. While he has become somewhat conflicted about these beliefs given the evidence of his eyes and his loyalty to Captain Eight York, he was deeply shaken by the rumors of her Zeon heritage. His guarded mind has not revealed his secrets yet to others, but the warring loyalties in his heart will have to be settled sooner or later--for better or for worse.

• 0075: Born to the wife of a weapons development executive in the Britannian Union.
• 0079: The One Year War. It's good for business! Father is promoted.
• 0080: Father's company gains a lucrative contract preparing for the Gundam Fight.
• 0083: Operation Stardust claims Kathras's home in the country, though he is out with his family on a vacation at the time. They move to a Federation colony to be closer to weapons development projects in space; the base they live near is on Londenion.
• 0084: Chaos in the colonies makes Kathras's father grow more paranoid, and he begins stockpiling weapons of his own.
• 0085: The elder Fari begins supporting the AEUG, and Kathras grows up idolizing the noble pilots seeming to bring order out of chaos. However, his father loses out on an important contract that goes to a PLANT engineer instead. He shifts career paths, becoming a politician on the strength of an easy smile and a calculating mind.
• 0093: Kathras joins Londo Bell out of high school, eager to emulate his heroes. War becomes more complex than he realized. The fighting against Neo-Zeon is difficult, and he loses many friends in the wars.
• 0095: Kathras's father receives a great opportunity to sit at the table during the negotiations with the PLANTs. He is part of the delegation that is murdered before the treaty meeting. Kathras swears vengeance against the PLANTs. The incident at Winter Wonderland sees Kathras Fari take over the weapons systems of the Ra Mari, and he helps to save the ship and the colony under Eight York. He begins to admire her as like one of the heroes of his childhood, and to feel like he himself is making a difference. However...

Resources

Kathras Fari has access to a significant fortune left to him by his politician father, Erd Fari. He also has a lot of friends in the Federation, particularly but not exclusively in Londo Bell, and through his father has some links on tap to shadier groups. His father was a member of Blue Cosmos, though he has not officially joined himself, claiming impartiality as a military officer--and mistrusting certain ties to the Titans who dominated his childhood. However, he maintains certain contacts.
