In her youth, Violet pursued a broad competency in the sciences, but she spent much of her time glued to news reports covering the era of the mad scientist villain, as embodied by figures like Dr. Hell. Since then, she's worn a variety of hats - robotics, mobile weapon development, Newtype research. She's even gone on a deep space expedition, which she's recently returned from. Now, the 30-something head of the Miyazaki Institute has decided the best way to test her various projects - and entertain herself - is to moonlight as Dr. Lambda, becoming the same kind of villain that grabbed her attention all those years ago. Violet is an unscrupulous woman animated by her need for stimulation, but her scientific curiosity is genuine, and shes up to try most anything to fill her time. She enjoys the company of her understudy/minion Erica, who both shares her desire to do and see interesting things and helps cover her weaker areas. She has an affinity with Cyber-Newtypes, having worked on Newtype research in the past, and still has a soft spot for the test subjects she sees as the initial fumblings at the latch of artificial evolution. In the emptiness of outer space, she and Erica performed the surgery on each other so that Violet could understand the products of her old work better.
