The man calling himself Vince Barker was born Vincent ze Britannia, and is among the elder sons of Emperor Charles. Despite his seniority he has almost never possessed favor within the Imperial family; Schneizel and Cornelia, his immediate contemporaries, outshone him in every meaningful way. He was distinct among his siblings for rough honesty, sheer guts, and being more roguish than princely. In UC 0085 he announced to his family that he was taking some spending money and leaving; no one really believed him, and perhaps it only worked because they didn't. The Emperor was so amused by the sheer gall of it that Vincent was declared First Prince for a day before being moved to -- and kept at -- the bottom of the line of succession. No other punishment followed. His activities across the following decade have mostly been the subject of rumor; one that has recently been verified is an on-again-off-again association with Bian Zoldak, the apparent death of whom was enough to cause him to invoke his privileges as a Britannian Prince in search of a solid lead. Whether he was successful or not, his latest bearing has seen his personal ship on a course to rendezvous with the Dreisstrager.
