Jijirium

Jijirium is a high-energy substance created by the bombardment of Permet with significant temperature and pressure or extremely high data throughput to a biological destination. Jijirium loses its intercommunicative properties as part of this process, but gains a significantly heightened energy storage capacity. The conversion of Permet into Jijirium inside an unaugmented human body almost invariably leads to death. Conversely, augmented human bodies can be made to not only metabolize this energy but rely on it.

Jijirium can be further processed into a liquid called G-ER fluid, which is used in certain mobile weapons.

In the Astragius Galaxy, Permet is almost exclusively used as a computation aid (and not known by that name), and bombardment of Permet computers during the last century of warfare has converted large amounts of Permet to Jijirium. In the Earth Sphere, conversely, most research interest in Permet orients on its intercommunication functions, and Jijirium is understood exclusively as a waste product.
