Chaos Bringer

The "Chaos Bringer" phenomenon is a term used among denizens of what humans might tentatively term "cognitive space" to describe a variety of effects that lead to cognitive space having a direct physical effect on humans' material reality.

Small-scale Chaos Bringer effects can lead to disruptions of electronic hardware and other devices. While not harmless, these tend to be small, local effects that derive their harm from their consequences rather than their intrinsic nature. Rashes of small events like these occurred in the early 0070s and 0090s. (While most characters do not know about this, these effects explain the events of the Ultra Series's Gridman the Hyper Agent.)

Kaiju that could manifest small-scale Chaos Bringer effects in cognitive space, if brought to physical space, are also capable of manifesting those effects in physical space. This can lead to modest effects that do not follow the laws of conventional reality, but are still not a dimensional-scale threat. The continued effects of Akane Shinjo's Venora maintenance kaiju represent a Chaos Bringer effect of this type.

Large-scale and massive-scale Chaos Bringer effects like those seen in Tsutsujidai's manifestation in the PLANTs represent a serious threat to reality. While this remains in the realm of conjecture, these types of effects may eventually lead to a universal collapse.

It is unclear at this time if other manifestations of intentionality in physical space, such as the Axis Shock, the advent of Infinity, or the use of the Lambda Driver, also constitute Chaos Bringer effects.
