It's been barely a few weeks since the final climatic battle in Fujinomiya City saw Doctor Hell's plans to rewrite this world thwarted. With the OCU on the brink of war after the brutal massacre in the 'Special Administrative Zone', it's hard to say the world is at peace...
Personally, Sayaka's still going through the pain and grief of what feels like a truly profound loss. But it's about time to make a statement, and it's her responsibility to put out a press release now that the Invisible Burst has faded away.
"It's true." Sayaka begins. "Goragon was no mere 'weapon'... it was a natural phenomenon. Much like the Oath Over Omega, but not the same, either. No, Goragon is the result of the super-imposition of parallel worlds /within/ a multiverse. That is the Photon Power Labs' working theory."
Those in the crowd are quick to question whether it was the use of Photon Power that caused Infinity's appearance. "/That/ is something we are currently working out with Cathedra," Sayaka answers, unpressured. "There are many mysteries about Photon Power we've yet to solve. Mysteries we are /eager/ to solve. But the fact remains that our current technology lacks the power to replicate a phenomenon like Goragon."
Sayaka waits for the chatter of the crowd to halt before she continues speaking. "I'd like you all to consider the precarious state this world - /humanity/ is in. We've witnessed an otherworldy power create a wound in the North Pole itself. The Macross Quarter and the Nadesico have returned with news of the death of an entire planet. This world has been on the brink of destruction countless times, but..."
She stares the crowd down directly. "I will never stop advocating for the use of Photon Power for the sake of peace and protecting others. In this world, we have to watch out for each other... it's as simple as that." She says that, but... how many times will Koji have to bear the weight of the world? She'll make sure he never has to alone again.
Regardless, she concludes her little speech with a wry smile. "To conclude... we'll just have to try to do better, yes?"
