- Summary: Neo Getter Team call on former victims of BioNet in NERV's structure, and offer their assistance in pursuing and destroying facilities of the science crime association.
<Pose Tracker> Neo Getter Team has posed.
The NISAR main airbase outside Tokyo is known to be the headquarters of Neo Getter Team, who have, today, reached out to specific individuals in NERV.
The three pilots are already waiting in the underground central control room of the base, in their colour-coded pilot suits. As their contacts arrive, Sho Tachibana backhands Go Ichimonji's shoulder, indicating he should get his feet off the central table, and rises to greet them along with Gai Daido. Go, slightly behind them, stands up, leaning against one of the handrails - he doesn't know the other NERV pilots as well as his teammates, so he's just gonna watch their backs. Renais gets a long look up and down from the blue-suited, short-haired pilot, a frown on his face.
"Liam." Gai beams. "Ms. Cardiff, Operator Pommier. Glad you could make it."
Sho favours Alouette with a quiet smile, before grinning over to Go. "She'd kick your ass, Go, don't even try it."
"Whaddya take me for," Neo Eagle's pilot retorts, looking for something to throw at Neo Jaguar's pilot before she cuts him off with "an idiot whose first assessment of someone is whether he could beat them in a fight."
"... Shut up," Go huffs. Gai grins. "Okay. The team's been talkin', and with the Dinosaur Empire not having made any moves since that one big showdown, we figure we should put Neo Getter Robo's power to some practical use to keep our eye in for when they show up again."
Go takes over at this point. "So we're officially convening the Association of BioNet Fuckers."
There is a pause.
Sho pinches the bridge of her nose. "I said we needed a better name. What he means is, we want to start helping with operations to knock over their facilities."
Gai nods to Liam. "Like the Crucible."
Recovering, Sho continues. "So... We figured we'd reach out to some of the people they've fucked around with. Collect intelligence. Figure out a strategy." She and Gai head back over to the central table, motioning for the others to take seats there. Sho has an empty seat next to her, for some reason.
<Pose Tracker> Alouette Pommier has posed.
Alouette arrives at the NISAR base's control room closely beside Renais, having both assumedly left from Orbit Base. On they way there, she took the opportunity to explain her relationship situation, how she is now dating one of the Neo Getter pilots and seeing how it works. In other words, catching up socially.
When the Frenchwomen arrive, Alouette first smiles at Sho. "Bonjour, Sho. You're looking lovely today." Before she also waves to Gai - Sho's wingman in more than one way. "Thank you for your hospitality, Gai Daido."
The frowning Go gets an unassuming smile with a certain power behind it. "I'd like to believe I'm at least a little tougher than I look, like Sho attests." The smile turns into more of a slight smirk.
Liam also gets a warm smile - they're friends, but it's been a while since they've seen each other outside of some battle or another. At least this time they'll only be planning battles!
Alouette shakes her head, when Go comes up with the 'Association of BioNet Fuckers'. "Hmm. Needs more alliteration. We'll call it a work in progress." She decides. "Either way, I'm game, of course." She nods. "I don't know much about Crucible specifically.. but I know more than most people how BioNet operates."
Alouette claims the empty seat next to Sho without blinking an eye, before continuing. "For a start.. it's almost certainly worth looking into Tsutsujidai. We know BioNet has a base there - they've made something of an investment there. But it would take some intelligence and muscle both to smash it apart." She looks to Renais next. "We never did get to properly follow up on Shinjo, did we?" Before she pauses, clarifying for the others. "Not related to her. Different kanji. I'm talking about the one who deployed robots based on Big Volfogg's destroyed parts."
<Pose Tracker> Liam 7-020 has posed.
Liam has fond memories of NISAR's headquarters. Gai, Sho, and Go put a lot of time and effort into rebuilding his wrecked machine--unprompted, no less!--and testing it out was one of the first times he'd felt joy while piloting. When the team asked for his presence, he was not about to turn them down.
In contrast to the NISAR pilots, Liam is dressed down, though his NERV ID is clipped to the collar of his grey hoodie. He approaches the table with a smile on his face. "Go, Sho, Gai," he says, greeting each pilot in turn. And then-- "Alouette...?" Liam blinks. The confusion fades as Alouette and Go remind him of that name.
Liam's face assumes a very polite, very practiced expression of neutrality. "We can workshop," he says, looking at Alouette." He takes an empty seat, only to have Gai's eyes on him. His face tightens.
"They've been cautious," he says. "I think Akane hurt them in Paris. But... I think it's inevitable someone from BioNet decides to take revenge." Liam nods to Alouette. "That one," he says, sudden venom in his voice.
<Pose Tracker> Renais Cardiff has posed.
Renais Cardiff arrives in her 3G uniform--a pink-and-white with black accents, worn underneath a similarly styled, long-sleeved half-jacket with gold buckles. A red silk ascot is tucked into her collar, and she wears ribbed black leggings and short boots. Both hands are white-gloved; a hint of gold can be seen in the gap where her right wrist is bared.
On the way, she's likewise been catching up with Alouette, talking with her about various cat antics around Villa Mass. It's... really rather cute to hear her talk about them.
Actually arriving, though, she engages in a brief staredown with Go, peering silently at him through her tinted pince-nez as he looks her over. "..."
Gai's introduction brings her back to reality, and she gives him a subdued smile in return. "Captain, actually," she corrects. The rank's all but honorary, as Guy still pulls double duty even as chief... but it's still a title she's proud of. "Anyway, I'm more than glad to be here."
A grin is paid to Sho, and she looks at Go again. "I could take you on sometime," she offers, eyebrow raised propositionally, cracking the knuckles of her left hand with her right. "As for the name... I'm a fan. But think NERV Command's going to want something a bit less vulgar." There's a wink.
"And you must be the one Alouette has been telling me about," she smiles a bit wider, looking back to Sho. "Renais Cardiff." She extends her hand to the woman; her handshake is unusually firm. "I do hope you'll continue to treat her well."
She takes a seat beside Alouette, hands balling into fists at the thought of that night. "Aside from that, they laid fairly low while Tsutsujidai was isolated. There were skirmishes, here and there, but... they covered their tracks surprisingly well. The only thing of real note since then was a Pseudo-Zonder attack, using an associate of the Gridman Alliance as the host."
"So..." She leans back. "We know that cell is still active, and we may want to focus some resources on a more thorough search. I know Porc-Auto has been eager to defend his brother's honor."
<Pose Tracker> Neo Getter Team has posed.
Gai smiles apologetically at Liam. "Sorry to make this rough, but... They gotta go, right?" He nods to Renais. "Captain! Right, sorry. Please, take a seat."
Sho grins at Renais and shakes her hand. "I'll do my best!" As Alouette sits next to her, she reaches an arm around to half-hug the Operator. "If they're gonna come for you, they're going through me first," she promises. "Which drags the two of us into it," Gai cuts in, gesturing between himself and Go. "Not that we're mad about it."
Go grins as Renais volunteers to take his challenge. "Now that's what I like to hear." He eventually returns to his seat, leaning back and putting his boots up on the table again, ignoring his teammates' glares. "So robots based off Big Volfogg? That blows. Where d'you think their base is?"
"There's not much of Tsutsujidai to search," Gai points out. "It's a tiny city inside a PLANT that didn't exist before, right?" Go interjects here with a blank "what." Clearly the metaphysical explanation of that is something that's gone clean over his head, so Sho cuts him off with a "don't worry about it."
"It's a problem, though," Gai continues. "Neo Getter was designed for terrestrial combat, unlike the original Getter Robo starting out as a spaceflight project. We can't take the Getter Machines up to space, especially with the Federation watching the Neo project as closely as they are, so we'd be fighting at a disadvantage."
Sho shrugs. "I have low-G combat training and cross-training from Texas Colony, I can be there, at least. Mobile suit or Ichinana or... whatever, I can handle it if need be. The real question is - can we bait them out, or do we need to wait for this Shinjo to make a move?"
<Pose Tracker> Liam 7-020 has posed.
There's another guest. Liam's face lights up as soon as he sees her. "Renais," he says. Despite the near-apocalypse, he looks... better than she's seen him in a while. More at ease. More comfortable. Tsutsujidai was miserable and grueling, but Akane is safe, the city and its people are safe, and Liam came out the other side with newfound skills and budding confidence.
She accepts Go's challenge. Liam's brow furrows in concern as he turns to look at Go. For a moment, he weighs his options, then decides. "...Are you sure?" he says. Probably a pointless question given what he knows of the man, but there's moral duty, there.
Even if Liam also trusts Renais not to hurt him too badly.
"It... might be located within the city sublevels," Liam says, taking a guess. "Or outside. The city's footprint is a fraction of a normal PLANT settlement. I doubt they'd be in the other cylinder--that's where Duma lives."
<Pose Tracker> Alouette Pommier has posed.
Alouette could listen to Renais talk about those cats all day if she had the chance.. she'd like to pay a visit soon.
But for now, she focuses on their current meeting. Like Renais, she's dressed in her typical 3G uniform, just as stylized as anyone's.
When Sho reaches for a hug, Alouette's subdued smile grows wider, as she squeezes her hand into her own ungloved one. "Thanks..." she voices. "I don't know if it's for sure.. it's just a feeling. But your support makes me feel a lot safer." She affirms. And when Gai joins in, she continues. "And of course, your battles are mine too. So if the dinosaur empire strikes back again, you can count on Guardienne Aviaire to fight them."
"That's right," Alouette nods, as Liam and Renais both note that BioNet have been incredibly cautious, laying low aside from a few operations here and there. "That Psuedo-Zonder attack seemed to imply some in BioNet is interested in how Tsutsujidai's 'repli-compoid' citizens react to that kind experimentation. Not to mention, Alexis Kerib also routinely supplies them with kaiju." Alouette frowns.
Where could the base be? Gai says there's not many places to search in Tsutsujidai. "Which means they likely had to get creative to stay undetected for so long." She considers. "Somewhere not a lot of people would see. Hmm..." She does look receptive to Liam's ideas. "Underground is an option. There's an extensive waterfront, too."
Sho's question gets the tactical part of Alouette's brain rolling. "Between Ken Shinjo, the Pseudo-Zonder experimenters, and the kaiju researchers, it seems like it would be a lot to deal with if it's just us." She starts. "But if I had to guess, they're hardly a unified front - more just disjointed projects that happen to answer to the same base of operations." They certainly weren't anything of the sort in France. "/That/ means if we bait Shinjo, or any sorry fool from BioNet... they probably can't expect much in the way of backup. We should use that to our advantage."
<Pose Tracker> Renais Cardiff has posed.
She can't help smiling at the way Sho and her teammates announce their willingness to care for Alouette. "Good. I'm glad to hear it."
Relocating Neo Getter is a problem, it's true. "Mn... and I'm guessing they'd notice it if you smuggled Neo out, too," murmurs Renais. It's a shame the more esoteric connections to Tsutsujidai aren't active now... that'd make this a lot easier.
Probably, anyway. She's not sure how it'd work with a three-piece, three-pilot unit. And with something like this, it'd likely draw undue attention to the Shuffle Alliance if she were to tug on those resources.
"Underground, or in the reservoir," Renais concurs to Liam and Alouette with a nod. "One will be easier to search than the other, since they could theoretically be hiding anywhere in the habitable disk's substructure, but... the latter shouldn't be terribly problematic, should it come down to it. The sort of activity BioNet gets up to would cause noticeable power draws... and in the event they're using isolated generators, they're still generating heat."
"As for their independence from larger BioNet units... I think I would agree. They're self-sufficient enough to still be here after a month without any outside support--and unless they have significant assets among the PLANTs, striking decisively should make the question of backup from another Side, or from Earth, moot."
<Pose Tracker> Neo Getter Team has posed.
"Yeah, as much as Getter-3 would be a help if it is in the water," Gai answers Renais, "Getting the jets up there without the Feds noticing and asking questions that'll give away our movements to BioNet is gonna be real difficult. We might just have to draw up a list of our most suitable units for that kind of op and have Sho handle it solo."
When Alouette volunteers her aid against the Dinosaurs, Go grins. "Anyone who wants to take on a Mechasaur is a friend of mine," he says with a nod. "Lookin' forward to seein' you in action." He grins at Liam. "I love a good fight, especially against a stronger opponent. You and I should spar sometime, now I think about it."
"Don't underestimate him," Gai warns. "Captain Jin said he ripped a podium out of the floor and hit a Saurian with it once."
"And the judge's bell first! Bastard cut in on my fight circuit, he had it coming," Go clarifies.
Sho rolls her eyes. "If we need extra support we can trust, I can talk to the King siblings, too. Texas Mack is a pretty versatile machine and Jack and Mary will have my back."
"... How are they keeping the staff?" Gai wonders. "An operation big enough to mass-produce derivatives of Big Volfogg would require a lot of maintenance and engineering, and that means food, water, and other supplies being moved oddly in Tsutsujidai - and it just went through a period of rationing."
"It's probably not people," Go says. "People have needs, like ya said. If Shinjo's makin' 'bots, stands to reason he's got 'bots to make the 'bots for him."
Gai opens his mouth. Then closes it. "... Huh. For once, the monkey-man's said something reasonable."
"Get bent, Gai."
The green-suited, larger man grins across the table at his teammate.
<Pose Tracker> Liam 7-020 has posed.
Liam blinks, once, as Sho moves for the hug, but his surprise gives way to a gentle smile. He's glad for it, even if it is unexpected. Perhaps it's better for being unexpected!
"They'd need shielding," he says, as Renais describes the kind of tells a base would generate. "Tsutsujidai is under intense outside scrutiny. GGG itself spent weeks relocating it. Whatever it is, the Wadatsumi's crew hasn't found it after months." And as Alouette and Renais know, the Division Ships aren't lacking for sensor technology.
Go issues a challenge. A sort of challenge? Liam blinks again, but thinks back to Judau. Maybe he should. Maybe it's important, just like learning how to accept touch. "Accepted," Liam says. Turning back to Gai, he nods. "Figured an automated line of some sort. He could've retrieved Volfogg's original shell to use as the template. Renais is right, though--we find the suppliers, we trace them to Shinjo."
<Pose Tracker> Alouette Pommier has posed.
Alouette seems to have gotten Go's respect for volunteering to throw herself into the fight against the Dinosaurs. "Me too. Look forward to seeing how a Brave fights." She grins.
The mention of the King siblings also gets a curious look from Alouette. "I'm not opposed to more trusted help, and besides.. they do sound like a lot of fun." Wait wait wait.. are the Texas Mack pilots just the alter egos of Stallion and Swan?
And then she turns her focus back to business. "Right. It's been dead silence until that Pseudo-Zonder was deployed." Alouette nods, when Liam states that the Wadatsumi crew hasn't picked up on anything in months. "If they've picked up Volfogg's parts, then it's possible they've developed something similar to his holographic camouflage.." She briefly throws out there, and then tsks. "On such a large scale as a base, though? It seems ridiculous."
But Go's suggestion gets her to change course a little. "BioNet does like their automation. For all we know, Ken Shinjo could've left, or is dead in the water - and those units might still be active." She pauses and frowns. "They had basic AI, if I recall - there's no reason they couldn't continue to carry out their handler's work on their own." She nods at Renais. "It doesn't make it any less easy to trace them back to Ken Shinjo."
<Pose Tracker> Renais Cardiff has posed.
Renais sighs, and nods. "You're right. It won't be easy. Seems we might need to do a bit of old-fashioned legwork."
The mention of Texas Mack gets her curious for a moment... and her brain goes down a similar line of thinking to Alouette. "Texas Mack, wasn't that Stallion White's old band? --no, wait..." She gestures dismissively.
"Anyway... that's a lot of mirror colloid to be going through, but if they got a sample of the stuff, I wouldn't put it past them to be synthesizing it. That much of it, though... you're right, it sounds far-fetched."
Even so, she's not sure she's willing to discount it.
"And count me in for fucking up mechasaurs, any time." She cracks her knuckles.
