- Summary: As Tsutsujidai took away so many in the wake of its disappearance, Christmas Eve at the Photon Power Labs is much more quiet. Sayaka remembers the promise that was made to her just before it happened.
It’s the holiday season, but for Sayaka Yumi, it doesn’t feel like there’s much to be celebrating.
No matter how much the Federation tries to cover up the disappearance of the PLANT Tsutsujidai, even without using her higher-up connections, it didn’t take much long at all for Sayaka to connect the dots. The radio silence from Koji immediately after he began his excursion was telling.
It’s not that she’s worried about him, of course. If anyone can figure a way out, it’s Koji Kabuto. Besides, he made a promise. And unreliable as he can be, he never breaks them.
There’s others Sayaka wanted to see this Christmas as well, of course. It’s lucky that she got Renais her housewarming gift in time, but she was hoping to pay her and the Mass Villa another visit. Leina must be awfully lonely… Sayaka wants to check in on her.
Additionally, the disappearance of Tsutsujidai seemed to embolden Britannia, and they have been making moves they otherwise wouldn’t without many of their checks in play. PM Yumi has been carefully studying their moves but he doesn’t seem particularly ready to counter them if need be…
Luckily, the Photon Power Labs are not, in fact, defenseless. Aphrodite Areia, symbol of war and peace, stands ready to combat any who would threaten it. And as it happens, Shiro told her about some kind of incident that happened at Boss Ramen - something that could end up being a danger to Fujinomiya as a whole. She’ll have to look into that matter too.
“Doctor Yumi? Is something wrong?” Pipes a cheerful voice at the side of her desk, as Sayaka doesn’t even realize she’d rested her head down on it.
“I might be a little tired. Don’t worry, Lisa.” Sayaka smiles.
“Ah… Are you worried about Master?” Lisa asks. Surely Lisa’s felt a little lost without the person registered as her administrator, but she knows Sayaka shares a fascinating and complicated relationship with him.
“He’ll be just fine. He made a promise after all.” Sayaka replies, assuredly. “Well, it’s Christmas Eve. Instead of worrying, how about we stop for some Boss Ramen?”
“My favourite! You’re the beeeeest~”
