Libreville, OAC, 10:00-----

At the heart of the Central African States, the bustling seaside city of Libreville thrums through its paces. Glimmering and overlooking the waterfront, the Cetra Casino and Resort is quiet in its off-season . . . and a conference room with a quite immense window to nothing but the sea beyond is booked for the day, given no shortage of luxurious creature comforts and space for guests to gather.

The first ones to pull up depart their seriously-bright-pink sports car, with the passenger, a young girl in a clean-cut suit and tie, along with visor-wrapping black sunglasses and free-flowing dark hair, stepping into the unassuming space - hands folded over one another, waiting to welcome representatives she's invited. The driver swiftly exits - a colder and taller man in matching dress, including eye-concealing sunglasses.

She welcomes all arrivals - offering refreshments, striking up smaller conversations, doing all she can to glean a little bit about them...but it's only once everyone arrives that the doors are properly shut, the ambient music is turned low, and a call for silence is put forward.

"...So, I suppose everyone here today can trust why we're here. I made it fairly obvious in the initial message, but in the teensiest of nutshells-" On a nearby presentation screen, a simple map of Earth and its orbit pops up - with one space highlighted. The location of the PLANT containing Tsutsujidai - the one that, not too long ago, was closed off to the world.

"...Many have been trying to keep this on the quiet, but an incident this big can't be covered up. Everyone with military intel knows that dozens of key figures, most publicly leaders of NERV and the Gutsy Galaxy Guard, along with many other suspected individuals - is locked up in inaccessible Earth orbit. The real question is what's happening next, given the low-key huuuuge power shakeup this is. Unfortunately, we have reason to suspect that it's going to get ugly pretty soon, if our contacts with high-level Federation access are anything to go by."

"...So I'll go ahead and make it clear. I'm a representative of Celestial Being. To those of you gathered here...we're in search of a bit of an...armistice. A mutual agreement to hold back and intervene in several upcoming operations together, rather than a seeming shared policy of keeping each other at arms' length thus far. If we're all isolated and fragmented...we're liable to get crushed pretty soon."

<Pose Tracker> Karma Sato has posed.

The black knight channels have been oddly quieter then normal, on top of that the tip jar at Pizza Hut has been noticably less in the last few days as if their biggest customer just up'd and disappeared. In the chaos of the lack of figures to take on things Karma had volunteered to represent the Black Knights at this meeting, if only to hope to find out what is going on. Without Zero calling the shots all they could do was take chances, and likely make mistakes.

Entering the conference room, wearing the traditional Black Knight uniform, black boots, grey pants, and a long sleeve black jacket. To accessorize the look Karma also wore a black cap and a black visor covering the majority of his upper face. For the short time he simply stands around trying to keep a low profile until the conference is called to order and the speaker starts the explination.

Finding a seat Karma silently listens to the introduction as he tries to remember where he has seen this person before but doesn't get the time to put it together before a pause in the conversation occurs. Taking advantage of the pause, Karma speaks up with a question, " Not to question the information but how do you know where they are? Can you get in contact with them to verify who is in that space?" The last few years have taught him well to question what you are being told

<Pose Tracker> Ujico Issa has posed.

It's really a beautiful place. It feels weird, being in her normal suit and helmet without being in Palisade. The scenery helps distract her; Ujico spends a fair amount of pre-meeting time by the window, looking out at the sea.

Earth really does have some of the most amazing things...

Her normal suit is black, mostly, with cherry-red panels in a few places. Her helmet is entirely red, with protrusions that sort of resemble cat ears. (Maybe if the meeting goes well, she can swim later.)

But Liu Mei calls for silence, and Ujico searches a seat out of the way. It would be better to sit near Setsuna or Regina, maybe. But would that send a bad message? Like they're being cliquey? Like they don't trust the guests?

...In the end she decides to sit in a mostly-empty area and let other people sit near her if they wish. They can make the first move this way! It will help foster diplomacy!
Roux Louka teleports in.
POT: Roux Louka is now set observer.

<Pose Tracker> Rau Le Creuset has posed.

The expected guests have arrived. The doors are being shut in anticipation of the main event. But before they are closed, there is a brief disturbance at the entrance to the room. A handsome gentleman in a fancy black coat and attire has shown up.

        He was not expected.

There are some words exchanged as the guards attempt to usher the man out. But he produces a piece of paper to one of them. Shortly after, that guard waves the other two off, letting the man through and returning to securing the doors.

        Apparently the man was expected?

He walks up to join the others. For those who follow any news out of the PLANTs, they'd recognise the telltale blonde hair and mask of ZAFT's famous, or infamous, ace and Commander, Rau Le Creuset.

Rau gives everyone a brief bow in greeting, "My apologies for my tardiness. Getting here from Side 2 took some time."

Rau proceeds to take a seat. Catching the tail end of the introduction, as well as the question from the knight in black, Rau says, "I can confirm that our intelligence matches that which the beautiful young lady has described. We have attempted to investigate more closely, but so far have had... Issues. Something strange is clearly occuring there."

<Pose Tracker> Regina Everhart has posed.

An armistice. A plan to bring together various arrayed forces, to ensure they aren't tripping over each other as their common enemy is emboldened by the sudden disappearance of many key figures. This is an endeavor Regina supports. Any opportunity to avoid unnecessary violence is welcome - if they are to fight, it must be direct and focused.

She arrives with the rest of the Celestial Being representatives, in her standard traveling gear - body armor vest over a turtleneck, long pants, thick leather gloves and boots, all in a plain, muted color scheme. Draped around her body is a long cloak and, while they may have come together peacefully, their identities are still important - and so, she also wears her black face-concealing helmet.

When she arrives in the hall... she doesn't speak much, if at all - sparing only a few words for those who address her. Taciturn, but not unkind. Ujico in particular well at least receive a nod of familiarity. She might be mistaken for a bodyguard. She takes a seat near Liu Mei, staying quiet as she sums up the current situation.

<Pose Tracker> Teletha Testarossa has posed.

Celestial Being's olive branch was not dismissed out of hand. Mithril may be part of the Shuffle Alliance, but they were their own company. That fact alone was enough of how much the tides had shifted in such short notice. There was no option but to take it, especially with the disappearences in Shuffle Command. That being said...

Seeing so many varying uniforms in one spot was a slight bit of a shock. The tide had shifted, and this was the result. She dressed herself in her usual work attire; The formal top and pencil skirt of office work, the emblem of Mithril clearly on the arm, braid and all. Being accompanied by a grayed old man in similar uniform did assuage her nerves the tiniest bit. Only the tiniest.

There was the knowledge that the Tuatha de Danaan was stationed at a relatively safe distance away: Close enough for a strike team if everything broke down, far enough away that a targeted explosion wouldn't severely harm it.

...At least, Lt Commander Kalinin independently verified that no, the punch bowl was not spiked. (It was rather delicious, if Tessa had to offer an opinion.) It is a mildly thankful thing that Tessa was not a gambler. That being said, she and him, like all the others, quieted down on the presentation at hand.

The Captain marinates on the proposal. An armstice. Considering the current climate, it was beneficial, but the way it's poised...The gut instinct of someone looking at a deck and spotting the intent from what wasn't divulged. Reaching up, playing with her braid, brushing it over her nose. Questions. "And what are your specific terms? As I'm sure you're aware, some of us aren't in the best of relationships at the current moment." The question of what had happened to Tsutsujidai was independently verified, and Mithril already knew about the hole. It was impossible not to.

<Pose Tracker> Setsuna F. Seiei has posed.

Why is he here? He doesn't need to be here. His job is to pilot the Exia, not to carry out negotiations with people too afraid to do what needs to be done, who still try to follow the broken rules of a corrupt government.

It's a question that Setsuna keeps asking himself inside his head as stands in the conference room, his right hand constantly adjusting the chest armor of his pilot suit as he quietly waits for people to shuffle in.

Despite the fact this was supposed to be a meeting to harbor a bit of good will between the groups, the Gundam Meister is wearing a helmet with a tinted visor to obscure his face. He's aware this is a sort of gesture that generally brings mistrust to some, but the people here don't need to know who he is. Even though his true identity is basically worthless, the only thing that needs to be known, as far as he's concerned, is that he's a member of Celestial Being.

As Liu finishes her proposal, Setsuna thinks. He processes what is said, and eventually speaks up. It's only a few words, but it's a few words more than the boy generally speaks.

         "Are they really needed?"

The pilot's voice is surprisingly young for someone who's part of a terrorist group, but his flat, uncaring tone gives off the feeling that he's a lot more mature than he should be.

<Pose Tracker> Liu Mei Wang has posed.

A curt little smile crosses Liu Mei's lips, first at Setsuna's little interjection. "Now now, someone like you probably comes to view me as frivolous easily, but rest assured I only move forward like this when the time is right. As a reminder, our objective is 'the eradication of war'. Unfortunately for a world that sees war as an asset, it may as well have been a functional declaration on the entire world. Today is not a slight on your own talents - it's a recognition that even the seven strongest swords can only achieve so much."

The appearance of unmistakeably Rau le Creuset, internally, makes Liu Mei freeze up for a moment. She definitely did not ... explicitly intend to rope ZAFT properly into this. After all - there's been a handful of interventions -targeting- ZAFT, especially in the Sahara theater. But she didn't get this far without poise, and she concurs, to reassure Karma, "It's not that we know 'where they are', necessarily - it's that we know the last known location of where a lot of people were, before they and the rest of that location vanished. This PLANT has been the site of multiple strange phenomena - we could spend all day unraveling what's going on there from the reports we have, but it's immaterial. We're here acting on what we have a little more certainty of."

The presentation shifts to a new slide - half of it featuring a photocopy of a dossier, the other half featuring photographs of numerous high ranking politicians and military officials across the blocs (though, of course, disproportionately Britannian) - simply labeled 'Blue Cosmos'.

"We managed to get our hands on a few pieces of a paper trail linking the political wrangling going on behind the recent Gundam Fight controversy and cancellation, and a string of assassinations of outspoken anti-Blue Cosmos figures. My contact in the Vindirance special operations force has much more hard intel on the way, though they're being pursued by authorities as we speak."

Liu Mei quickly reinforces any worries Tessa might have had on the punch by scooping up a cupful to hand into Regina and Ujico's hands - followed by a cheery wink behind those shades. "Our terms! Well, that's why I have my three cute companions here right now. I trust all of them very dearly - that's why they're the ones protecting me!~ I want to...'loan them out', as you'd say, to you all, as intermediaries and assistants in upcoming operations. On my end, there's a key operation with a transport that needs to safely go from Huffman Island all the way out to the Orbital Ring, and we're worried they'll be cornered by Blue Cosmos factionalists soon enough. For the Black Knights and Mithril, we'd offer our own support to key operations in exchange."

"...ZAFT, is going to be a messier story, as I'm sure you can understand, Mr. Creuset. Pardon my unpreparedness in this."
[Entertainment] Zan> Oh my. I kinda like this model kit. https:'www.usagundamstore.comproductssun-queen-model-kit-x-01-destiny-mecha-animal-model-kit?rs_oid_rd=255125352710764

<Pose Tracker> Rita Bernal has posed.

Perhaps in sharp contrast to the garb of those at the meeting, a young woman hovers near the back of the crowd. A simple white dress covers her body, falling to her thighs in some kind of natural fabric. She wears no shoes, perhaps a dress code violation. The staff really should've said something when she came in!

Blonde hair brushes across her shoulders as she turns to gaze at the various speakers. Teaming up is a good idea! She doesn't voice this opinion. Really, she shouldn't even be here, but she's got to make progress in her connections. Celestial Being is here, and they're very, very important to her plans...

It seems only those with a decent Awakening level (2+) can see the young woman -- one reason she keeps to the back of the room. The most aware of those in the crowd may even see glimmers of cosmic stardust trail from her movements. Perhaps it's some new type of body glitter, catching the light in an odd way?

An ever-present smile covers the young woman's face. Liu Mei is so smart. The whole reason Rita emerged this early is because of the oncoming disasters brought about by Tsutsujidai's disappearance. Karma's question almost gets Rita to speak up -- of course they're okay. The Newtypes would've felt their deaths. They're just somewhere else, right now!

Ujico bravely sits on her own. Rita brings a hand to her mouth to hide a quiet giggle at the cat ear helmet -- so cute! Wow! And she's even bravely taking a seat on her own, expectantly leaving the chairs around her open. Rau Le Creuset's hair is admired. It's a bit like her own, really. And he's so polite! She thinks back to the princely characters of her childhood television shows.

Regina. Another Celestial Being member. Looking at the other woman closely, the blonde tries to hide her assessment of Regina behind an ever-present smile. It's really cool to wear a cloak, though... Briefly, she wonders if she should try a cloak. It'd kind of clash with her aesthetic, though. Tessa's appearance earns a brighter smile from her. This one helped her sister, and was there for Leina. That makes Tessa an ally, without any doubt.

And finally, Setsuna. He is watched most closely of all. Perhaps, out of everyone, he would understand her the best? She can't help but tilt her head at the way Setsuna keeps adjusting his armor. Is it uncomfortable? Everyone should wear comfortable clothes. Uniforms are always a pain. His voice is so young! Her smile wavers for just a moment. She knew he would be, but it's still sad...

Maybe it'll be okay just to say something small. They're all so suspicious of each other! It's silly. They need to work together for the good of the world.

A sweet, breathy voice from the back of the room. Even if you can't see her, you can hear her. "Teaming up is a great idea! You're missing so many heroes right now. You have to trust in one another!"
[Entertainment] * MIDAS has joined the channel.

<Pose Tracker> Ujico Issa has posed.

Regina gets a returned nod, and a little tiny wave! Everybody looks so professional. Ujico tries very hard not to stare at the silver-haired girl. Her uniform is so polished! Her braid is so perfect! How does she not have flyaways all over the place?? (Pay attention.)

"It's good that you made it," she offers to Le Creuset when he makes an apology. It's important to let people know their efforts are acknowledged. Ujico's voice doesn't seem as quite young as Setsuna's; she's somewhere nearer the end of adolescence, perhaps.

She does stare at Setsuna when he asks that, a long and silent 'jiiiiiiii...' somewhere in the background. "If everybody works together, we can do more good. Remember? 'Many hands make light work.'" Ujico then attempts to sip wisely from her cup of punch, only for it to clonk quietly against her helmet's visor. "..."

        It's fine...

Besides, there's [something] nearby. Something new. Ujico decides to put her cup down for the moment (she's thirsty and the punch looks really good) and attempt to check it out when--

"...Aren't your feet cold?" is what comes out of her mouth. It's warm here, but bare tile floors!

<Pose Tracker> Karma Sato has posed.

Karma shifts a little in his seat at the answer, a reminder of the lacking of the Black Knight's own intelligence as he listens to those around to confirm them. Then their is the pilot with the helmet on asking if cooperation is needed before the spokesperson offers the services of the Celestial Beings in exchange for cooperation. Of course the voice of Rita causes Karma to turn and look around and sees someone standing in the shadow, but who knew the shadows were so dark.

Turning back into his seat and adjusts for a moment he looks at the slide, he had expected maybe getting funding for more supplies or something but if his face was visible it would be a bit more obvious that he was questioning what to do in this situation. it's not like he had much authority despite the situation. "So let me understand this, the celestial beings will help support the Black Knights, and the other organizations in this room. In exchange you want us to help maintain the peace for the time being? "

A pause is given to make sure he understood the deal before he adds, "Do we get the full force of the Celestial Being support or is it only the three companions here that can help us? " The knight's head turns and looks toward Setsuna, "How do we know these companions are not the fresh new recruits that you are hoping to get free training for?" Always the doubter.

<Pose Tracker> Leina Ashta has posed.

Leina arrives fashionably late from the Tuatha de Danaan, though she's certainly not treating this as a party. If it were, then some people present would be getting a piece of her mind tonight.

Personal opinion towards the gathered factions not withstanding, she cannot fail to at least entertain the olive branch extended.

The young ward of Sayla Mass is likely not recognizable to most people, she hardly ever makes appearances at events with Sayla - especially not Yumi Foundation ones - her life thus far has been a supremely private one; kept mostly out of the media.

Arriving in a tan pantsuit, a dark blouse, and a pair of flats, she strides in once her invitation was accepted. Her only accessory a beaded barrette in her hair.

Her seagreen eyes float over Rau, recognition dawning in her eyes as she makes a beeline straight towards the Shuffle Commander.

Only halting briefly to look at the woman in the white dress, giving her a questioning look. Rita might notice that Leina's walls are up right now, quite high - it's harder to feel her intentions than before.

She starts walking again shortly after, heading straight for Tessa, listening to Liu Mei's terms as she follows the sightline between towards the hostess and Tessa. She just mouths to her 'Sorry I'm late.' as Liu Mei finishes offering said terms.

She doesn't like this, that much is plain, even if she is keeping her walls up very high psychically at the moment.

Once settled in however, she speaks up, "Let's say we were to entertain the offer of your 'cute companions'. Would they obey our Commanders on our operations? Follow our rules of engagement? ... And what of us joining you upon your own?"

Her smile is positively sunny at this point, "Our current allies tend to deal with us, because we have a certain reputation for how we oversee matters of war. And while reputation ranks low upon our concerns at the moment, we have to consider the long term consequences should our trust be betrayed by our conflicting ideals."

<Pose Tracker> Rau Le Creuset has posed.

Rau doesn't go into any further conversation about the Tsutsujidai incident. Both because there's not much more to go into concretely and because he agrees that it's not a worthwhile subject to focus on here.

Rau's interest certainly is peaked though as Liu Mei brings up the information about Blue Cosmos. While there are some tidbits here and there in the information he's not familiar with, most of it is unsurprising.

Rau does take this opportunity to add, "I've collected evidence that suggests Blue Cosmos was also primarily responsible for the tragedy at JOSH-A using their connections within the Britannian military. With people like that in charge of the Federation, you can be assured that they plan to take advantage of the current state of things. Regardless of the cost in lives."

The offer to 'loan out' Celestial Being agents seems to draw Rau's interest. There is certainly benefit to working together to overcome the Federation's ruthless nature. Or so that would seem to the outside observer. Rau of course, has other ideas.

Still, as Liu Mei addresses him directly, he waves it off, "Worry not, my dear. I assure you that ZAFT hates the Federation far more for what it's done than anything Celestial Being has. We would not be opposed to future collaboration. I suspect it may even be an inevitability."

And then the Anomaly speaks. Rau had noticed it there. Lingering. He couldn't be certain exactly what it was. But he didn't give his attention to it in the beginning. Still, he prefers to not let others become aware of his own talents and so briefly feigns surprise at Rita's presence. Only for a moment though.

Regaining his composure again, Rau speaks, "Indeed. If the world continues to spiral in the direction it has been... There is going to be a great need for heroes in the days to come." Heros... Ridiculous.

<Pose Tracker> Teletha Testarossa has posed.

The smallest of nods towards Leina. Experience was experience, and she wasn't about to let someone who's been around the (unfortunate) block be blocked from having her say.

While it wouldn't have been the first thing to ask in clearly dangerous territory, Kalilin opted to remain silent. These were unprecedented times, and he needed to look out for others. Uruz 7 was fine. This, he was certain of.

What escaped his notice was the girl in the back. That girl...It was a half-noticed glimpse from Tessa, the Colonel turning to size up the strange gal. So strange. So ethereal. With the clear countenance of someone trying to hide themselves from showing they had noticed anything, a swift nod was given to Rita, before turning back. The gut feeling of seeing something beyond the boundaries of normalcy...That was everyday, wasn't it?

The seed of doubt has been planted with that pilot's remark. Indeed, Celestial Being was that type of organization, so...why? Was there another angle out of all this? Then again...Inviting ZAFT in, when in so clear conflict...Tough choices make enemies bedside people. Something like that. It's a temporary thing, as far as her gut says it is. The elaboration of terms brings forth an eyebrow raise out of the Colonel. The olive branch of information; More information was never bad, and there's mutual interest in Blue Cosmos's activities.

"To add onto the questions, are you prepared for when this armstice may break down? It's my understanding that some people are less amenable to working with others. We at Mithril are also against war, though we are not as...violently brazen about it." Strong words.

<Pose Tracker> Regina Everhart has posed.

Ujico waves at her. Regina hesitates... before offering a small wave back. Her attention returns to everyone gathered, then. She assesses them in turn... and then Setsuna speaks. Her head turns toward them, and she studies him for a moment.

"...That is not the issue at hand. Those of us who seek to eliminate violence should not fight amongst ourselves while our foes grow emboldened." Regina replies.

She will, when offered a cup of punch from Liu Mei, accept it. If it is a gesture of peace, then she will do what she must. She lifts the helmet's visor, just slightly. One can only just peek at her face beyond it, but she seems on the younger side - mid-twenties, perhaps. She takes a sip.

She doesn't keel over and die. She's either fine, or she's built up an immunity to it. It's probably fine.

But, an offer is made - they are to be loaned out, as intemediaries and assists. Regina considers that for a moment.

"...I have few relevant skills beyond application of force. But if you need me, I shall provide." She says, then assesses Karma next.

"If you doubt our experience, then I would be willing to demonstrate my capabilities." She offers. And then, she considers Leina and Teletha.

"Your rules of engagement. What are they?" She asks. The answer will decide her own answer - though, she looks to Liu Mei. She is the one who called this meeting, so ultimately, the final say goes to her.

Rau... she studies, but his words aren't something for him to address.

And, of course, there's another in this room... but Regina cannot see her nor she can hear her. Her heart, at present is too guarded, wrapped up too tightly to let her light in. Protecting herself, to keep things slipping in... or out.

<Pose Tracker> Setsuna F. Seiei has posed.

Peace. Joining hands is a part of that. That's right. He knew this all along, it's why he joined Celestial Being after all. Still, he has its reservations. Their message of armed intervention loses a bit of its meaning if one abandons absolute neutrality and starts forming alliances. Choosing favorites, as it were. Perhaps this too is yet another hypocrisy one must commit in order to grasp a better tomorrow.

Though he's not 100% convinced, he's sated enough not to raise anymore questions about the partnership, nor bog it down with his own thoughts on the matter. He pilots the Gundam, he reminds himself. It's not his place to question something that VEDA allowed. His job is to carry out mercy and bring peace, not immerse himself in the deeper politics surrounding such goals.

"You are afraid to do what needs to be done. Afraid of being a hypocrite."

Setsuna feels the need to correct Teratossa about the difference between Celestial Being and the Shuffle Alliance, but even though he's clearly speaking to her, his attention is currently fixed on the Angel in the room.

Angel? Or maybe a simple trespasser? He's unsure. It may also just be a vengeful wraith that's come to haunt him for his sins. Imagination aside, he should probably just ignore her. But he doesn't, instead locking his eyes on her as if he's expecting her to do something.

[O-CSB] Ujico Issa> oh he is so totally in line for two (2) juices

<Pose Tracker> Rita Bernal has posed.

"My... feet?" She says, in the tone of one who has just remembered she has feet. "Ah--! You're right, how rude of me."

How does one react to being spotted like this? She brings her hands up to her face in a faux-surprised look. Oh no, she forgot to wear her shoes today..! Is that normal? A glance is sneaked toward Ujico, to see if the act worked.

Doubt echoes from Karma in waves. She sighs to herself, her smile never fading. This is a question Liu Mei will have to handle. She can't allow herself to become too integral to the things happening here. The heroes of the living have to learn their own lessons.

Whoops! Leina is here -- she hadn't counted on that! Thankfully, it seems the other young lady is all business. Settling back into the unoccupied rear of the room, she watches Leina with great interest. What would her friend be like in this kind of arena?

Rau looks surprised to see her. She manages not to giggle at his performance, raising a hand in a little wave. As he agrees with her, hope flutters in her chest. Yes! If someone like this takes Liu Mei's side, others will surely follow! Even if he's hiding something... Surely his support will make a difference.

Tessa nods to her, much to her excitement. Wow, it's nice to be noticed! Her smile gets wider, brighter, until the blonde girl has to squeeze her unearthly-green eyes shut to acommodate it. Tessa is doubtful of Liu Mei's plan, too. As is her right, she thinks. It doesn't fall to her to defend this plan.

A soft sigh. Regina can't see or hear her. Maybe that's for the best, with how guarded and prepared Regina is. The fierce pilot might not hesitate to try an attack someone who is so clearly an outsider. Rules of engagement... They're really making it so complicated, aren't they?

Setsuna locks eyes with her. That's encouragement enough. With soft footsteps, she's very careful to walk around any obstacles between herself and Setsuna. Stopping just in front of him, she knits her hands behind her back, leaning forward slightly. "Hello! My name is Rita."
[O-CSB] Setsuna F. Seiei> I had to do it to her, she was politely calling us stinky and I'm not about that.
[O-CSB] Ujico Issa> oh no, i don't want to be called stinky :(

<Pose Tracker> Liu Mei Wang has posed.

Liu Mei's hand veeeery quickly raises to cover in front of Setsuna. If one could see past her sunglasses, they might notice the slightest tension and squinting, but she elegantly transitions it into a similar sweep of her arm over Ujico and Regina. "You can see just how passionate my colleagues are about what we do - we're certainly not going to entrust you with -training- them or anything, Mr. Sato. They'll be acting in their own mobile weapons, and while our interventions often resemble solo strikes, they wouldn't be possible without extensive backup and support securing their entry and escape to each theater."

An unfamiliar voice advocating working together rings out - Liu Mei's gazing around in slight confusion, before she notices Leina rushing into the conference, and decides that's what she heard...only for the following practical concerns to seem counter to that. "You're right - and I have no doubt that there will be long term problems, as there are in any collaboration not founded on authority. I'm glad you could make it all the same. We will work through conflicts of interest as they come, but this isn't a long term arrangement I'm proposing. Ideally we share information, work out a proper assignment of which of us are best suited to which key counter-oppression operation, and tamp down on chaotic power plays until the situation stabilizes. We're keeping a close eye on the disappeared colony - we can view its return, provided it does return, as a sign that the urgency in our task is through. Who knows, though? I think we have more ethics in common than you realize. Maybe we'll learn a lot from each other~"

Rita's voice. . . clearly emanates from much, much closer to Setsuna though. She hears the name. A bit of a struggle, but it's there. Others seem to be reacting - Ujico, in particular, is rather engaged with...something in that shared direction.

Liu Mei glances...not quite 'at' her. It's the open air - her gaze is totally off course, but...in her nebulous direction. Her gloved hand reaches out, like she's expecting a simply invisible person.

"...Hero is a nice word. We do try to evoke it. To the ones our interventions aid, we certainly must seem like it. I'd use it to describe what we do, but without the puffy connotation the word has. 'Hero'. A singular willpower that changes the world...hehe. Unfortunately, heroes and devils are usually two sides of the same coin, aren't they? That's the whole trouble."
[O-CSB] Liu Mei Wang> liu mei's intense vibes of being, like, the only neurotypical in the entire faction that she isn't the most graceful at handling but she tries!!
[O-CSB] Ujico Issa> I love that Liu Mei is literally the ONLY NORMAL PERSON FROM CB HERE
[O-CSB] Ujico Issa> and she's just stuck herding cats

<Pose Tracker> Ujico Issa has posed.

New recruits...? "Aren't humans supposed to learn something new every day, if possible?" While it's true that Ujico has seen far less combat than the Gundam Meisters, she doesn't consider herself a newbie anymore. (A rookie, maybe.) She looks enviously as her cup of punch, undrunk and waiting on the floor by her chair. "Won't you learn something new from us?" She doesn't blame the man from the Black Knights for doubting them. It's always hard to believe something that sounds too good to be true!

Leina, too, doubts. ...Maybe she's been hurt in the past? She doesn't sound like she thinks the deal is a very good one. "I don't mind following your orders as long as they're good ones," she offers in what she thinks is a completely open and reasonable tone. Most people want to give good orders! But she'll do as the others tell her to, anyway. Ujico is pretty good at depending on others for cues.

More importantly... She starts tugging at the fasteners on her boots. "...If it ends, I hope we'll still be friends afterwards. Even just as [people], if we can't be friends as [pilots]." She looks to Regina and Sousuke, and to Liu Mei, before finally managing to get her boots off.

The bare floor is cool through her socks as Ujico stands up and carries them towards Setsuna and the barefoot girl in white. "Here," she says quietly, kneeling down to hold a boot out in an imitation of a parent helping their child get dressed. ...To Regina and Liu Mei, it may look kind of like Ujico is trying to get Setsuna F. Seiei to trade boots for some reason.
[O-CSB] Setsuna F. Seiei> I'm normal.
[O-CSB] Ujico Issa> a normal Gundam yes

<Pose Tracker> Leina Ashta has posed.

Leina's fingers tap idly on her datapad, glancing at Tessa with a nod of agreement...

... including the violently brazen part.

Liu Mei gets a nod of thanks as she says she's glad that she made it, and she hears her out all the same. However there's a quirk of an eyebrow and an amused look at her stating that they have more ethics in common than they release, "Now that's a bold claim."

The side of her lip quirks up, "Sharing information? A ceasefire within reason? Such things have merit. For true collaboration I feel we can't just gloss over the long term consequences. Linking hands with you even in a temporary manner means that our allies - our foes - will forever be able to associate us with you. There are ways to mitigate that, if you're open to that kind of discussion."

Regina's question draws Leina's eyes, and with a smile she replies, "They are not so much hard and fast rules, more principles that members of the Shuffle Alliance abide by. A focus upon avoiding collateral, which includes not causing unnecessary casualties upon rank and file soldiers. We react to conflicts with forethought, rather than rush to settle things on our terms."

There's a sharpness to those sea green eyes that contrasts her smile, "Which is admittedly why we often find ourselves incompatible with Celestial Being. The tremendous toll inflicted upon people whose only crime is often being conscripted - and not desiring to be executed. The lack of interest in the civilians of a nation once your interventions are completed."

Whereas Ujico, there's a tilt of a head and a smile, "As long as they're 'good ones'? And what if your definition for such contrasts with ours?

Setsuna's comment to Tessa though causes the pressure in the room to subtly escalate, like a chill just fell over everything. Her eyes settle upon Setsuna, and now her smile is far less sunny. "Afraid? No. We just understand that there is more to ending war than charging into the fray - ambushing all involved. In the end - intervention without forethought only plays into the Federation's hands."

Leina seems to be marking every detail of the taciturn youth in these moments, "Do you think their elites divert funding into rebuilding once the dust settles? Bettering the lives of their people after you bring things to a sudden violent end? No - they churn more funding into the military industrial complex to defeat you, and relish the very idea of having fewer mouths to feed each time they reengage - deadlier and more rapacious than before."

Leina's eyes face back forward, and the pressure seemingly lowers just subtly, as she reasserts that, giving Tessa an apologetic smile and a murmur of, "Ms. Wang did put ethics on the table."

<Pose Tracker> Karma Sato has posed.

Karma straightens up hearing his name and looks towards Liu Mei, concerned his name is known despite the visor and such. Then again how many red headed black knights are there. Still this just adds to the threat at hand, and for the moment he has to take a different approach to the matter, keep the enemies close. "Ok , I will take the deal back to the Black Knights and encourage we take this deal, despite what others say."

There was to much of a potential gain versus the risk of making everyone in the room an enemy. For now if the status quo of the Black Knights power can be maintained then at least things will be how Zero left them. Besides it seems there were a lot more complications for the others that had arrived, no reason to draw much more attention.

<Pose Tracker> Teletha Testarossa has posed.

Experience. That is what they offer. Experienced people with their own backgrounds, reaons, and factional interests...Granted, it's an opportunity and a half, even if there ran the risk of allowing the fog of war to slip the tiniest bit. Rules of engagement? Obvious. There was the air of preemptive striking, but there is also thought given to the after. To the people displaced, broken, homeless. Even if Mithril cannot provide forever, relief is never far after the dust has settled. Following on Leina's explanation to Regina, the Colonel offered a nod.

"We can't exactly be preemptive about passive threats, but the importance is of snuffing out conflicts to the point where both sides can't retaliate without violating common ground." So was the followup offered. Not just conflict, but understanding afterwards. ...If impossible...Well...Best to leave that aside.

Setsuna's comment did send the hairs up her spine. It made a perverse sense. Intensely perverted, the natural outcome. "...We cannot look at every budding thing as a nail while wielding a hammer." The slightly edged tone pointed towards Setsuna, reinforcing Leina's own point. "The Shuffle Alliance cannot react to everything, and some naturally fizzle out without need. We aren't the world police, but people interested for a better tomorrow." Platitudes? Perhaps. Necessary? ...No.

As for Ujico... "...Are you able to carry out independent orders without fail?" Good orders. Proper orders. And of the regrettable orders? Orders she'd hope never to utter, but she wasn't vain enough to not consider the possibility.

A whisper back to Leina. "I understand. The onus is on them to prove that the armstice is worth taking, not us." Unnaturally serious. She's got her workface on, as much as that miniscule torrent of her psyche was working. "If their people are so against it, we can't take the chance."

<Pose Tracker> Setsuna F. Seiei has posed.

Setsuna nods to Rita as she introduces herself. So she's real. He thinks. At the very least, it would seem that a few others have made note of her presence, including Ujico who seems to be lending the girl her shoes, so that's good enough for him.

Still, it would seem that what he has said has led to some controversy. He understands it, he supposes. He doesn't agree with it, however. Everything he said is correct.

"Invervention while humoring the corrupt Federation's rules is doing little to maintain a broken status quo, which is one of the many cancers of humanity that need to be excised. Peace never comes without bloodshed, it is built on the back of those willing to take the burden of hypocrisy. "

He doesn't raise his voice, nor does he seem relatively heated. The way he responds feels as if this is something he's said a million times. And he has, it's a conclusion he came to a long time ago. He doesn't like it, nobody should, really. But it's the truth, and it's why Celestial Being exists. They'll do what needs to be done, and be marked by the public as extremists. That's just how it has to be...

"Anyway. What I think doesn't matter. Unless you all disagree, I will be working with you regardless."

It's unknown if he did it on purpose or not, but Setsuna seems to be throwing Liu a proverbial bone in trying to fix the tension in the room now by voicing his cooperation, even after his 'outbursts'. Knowing Setsuna as well as she does, however, mellowing the bad vibes that were building up was probably the last thing on the boy's mind.

<Pose Tracker> Rita Bernal has posed.

It's sad. Rita is here to support Liu Mei, but she can't even hear Rita! While she doesn't mind her words being attributed to Leina, the Newtype steps back quickly when Liu Mei reaches out. Most of the whole room seeing a hand pass through her body would definitely get them off-topic... Hopefully, it's a subtle enough motion that nobody will pick up on it.

Ujico quickly compounds this problem. Rita blinks as she approaches, holding out... her own boots. Rita brings a hand to her chest, touched by the gesture. "Oh, you're so kind..! Thank you, Ujico!"

Did Ujico introduce herself? There are bigger problems. Rita delicately places her foot forward, trying very, very hard to not go too far so her spiritual toes poke out of the bottom. ...though, Ujico may notice there's no weight to Rita's foot, even if she is successful in her careful placement...

Despite her sweet appearance, Rita mentally thinks of every single swear word she ever heard from the hardened soldiers she grew up with. Despite everything, she never foresaw this moment. If it seems like Ujico is onto her, Rita will bring a finger up to her lips, the international sign for "shh, it's a secret!" Maybe Ujico can be cool about this?

Leina speaks up, quickly drawing Rita's attention, regardless of how cool Ujico is capable of being. A hint of pride and admiration enters her unearthly-green eyes. Rita has nothing to add -- Leina's words stand on their own. The members of Celestial Being will have to defend their views without the help of their potential guardian angel.

Rita's gaze shifts to Karma after he speaks. Hmm, someone's eager to avoid attention... Her ever-present smile turns curious.

Tessa backs Leina up perfectly, earning a soft look from Rita. There's a grave cost to the actions Celestial Being takes. A grave cost to the actions Rita takes, as well. The blonde spirit thinks of a red-headed boy screaming her name, and briefly closes her eyes.

"You're Setsuna. You love Gundams, right?" Rita says, prodding the young man gently. "I do too." He's focused on Liu Mei, as he should be, really, but... It'd be really fun to chat! Maybe once the tensions die down a little...

<Pose Tracker> Regina Everhart has posed.

Regina looks to Setsuna again. This time, however, she finds nothing wrong with what he says. She looks toward Liu Mei, then, as she continues. ...She is much better at this than she is herself. Diplomacy is something she never had the opportunity to learn.

Her gaze strays backs to Ujico. Friends, hm...

...She dwells on this. But. Then Ujico takes off her boots and walks over to Setsuna?? Regina finishes her drink then closes her visor once more to ensure that the others can't see the look on her face.

Leina, thankfully, provides a distraction as she answers her question. Not hard and fast rules, but principles. She sees her smile - and the sharpness in her eyes.

"...I see." She replies. "I have no desire to inflict unnecessary casualties, no interest in fighting those who do not wish to fight - only the target. ...However. When we fight, we must defend ourselves. A bullet fired by a soldier there by necessity can kill just as surely as one who is there with purpose. We do not have the luxury of knowing which is which. Do you acknowledge this?"

She is quiet for a moment longer.

"...There is time for forethought, and there is time for immediate action. An ember can burn itself out harmlessly, or a stray wind can stoke it into a blazing wildfire. ...Can you trust that you always know for certain which is which?" Regina asks. She goes quiet there, but she assesses Teletha's response to Ujico for a moment.

<Pose Tracker> Liu Mei Wang has posed.

Slowly, Liu Mei lowers her sunglasses down, eyes meeting with Leina's for just a second - to get a better look...and slides them back up before speaking again. "...Hmm, you're the understudy of Sayla Mass, aren't you? You're sharp and on the ball - I can tell you've given a lot of thought to all this. I've always thought of meeting her, but we've never gotten the opportunity. I like how much you consider."

Adjusting her posture by leaning against the wall next to the tv hides Liu Mei relieving the tension in her shoulders as her companions raise good points and mitigate some of the tension - even if Ujico's...taking off her shoes. Liu Mei thinks it's bizarre, but nobody else seems to be raising too much of a point. Headache. "...Both you and Miss Testarossa are spot-on, naturally. Celestial Being has not been a charitable organization - perhaps many of our interventions have left you with undue cleanup. I'm willing to do what it takes to compensate for that."

Next slide - this time, a map of the various interventions Celestial Being has staged, with hotspots largely at the expected proxy areas, along with a few at the Orbital Ring itself. "Since our arrival last year, our methods have attracted a lot of attention, and our goals have been subject to a lot of debate. However, we should emphasize that our model of intervention has its limits. Already some have been abused as part as power plays - combatants using themselves as bait to get us to fight on our behalf. We've had the insight to avoid these predicaments, but nonetheless, we don't intend to act the same way forever and attain results that way. We're moving into a new phase, and we plan to shift our tactics accordingly, with less 'robotic' application of force in such a binary dimension."

"To that end, we would certainly disguise our assets when they are in your hands, avoid attributing such accomplishments to ourselves, and in turn offer substantial cover should you choose to aid us. Where it is important, the world at large should not have to know that our organizations are collaborating at all. The Gundams are, of course, rather tricky, but we can stage cooperation as -though- they're interventions, and even mock-up a few fake little skirmishes with you to throw off their scent, if you're willing to go to a length like that~"

Karma, naturally, gets a flash of a grin, before Liu Mei slips an envelope from her sleeve discretely into his hands. "This will have all the hard information the rest of them will need to know, along with information to contact yours truly directly. That'll go for the rest of you, should you accept."

<Pose Tracker> Ujico Issa has posed.

Leina brings up a fair question. Ujico considers it, and listens to her, kneeling on the floor holding a boot. Her helmet tilts briefly to one side before she answers. "It depends. Though the things you've said - the thought you've given to what comes 'after'... I think that if you gave orders, they'd probably be ones you thought hard about and were confident in." I-is that a vote of confidence or something?

...Huh. There's nothing there, to the barefoot girl. 'Rita.' Is she a ghost? Is this a haunting? Ujico had thought those would be more... spooky, chains rattling, cabinets banging. But it's nice that this one isn't. Rita holds up a finger to her lips. ...Oh. While she's not entirely sure what Rita's trying to say, Ujico at least knows when to cool it and [act natural]. Ujico leaves the boots where Rita can 'stand' in them and settles into the chair next to Setsuna's. ...Somehow it feels like it'd be more disruptive to go all the way back to her seat.

Teletha asks her a direct question, one Ujico was half-expecting. After all, if she's just said that she might refuse a bad order, people used to having their orders obeyed without fail might take issue with it - even if they wouldn't give orders Ujico finds objectionable. "Yeah. Although certainly, sometimes I'll fail - nobody's perfect. But we always do our best, me and Palisade." Ujico, that is not what she asked and you know it. "--You don't need to babysit me, if that's what you meant?"

It definitely would have been a better idea to send Tieria or Lockon... they would know what to say. Lockon would know and actually say it.

Liu Mei didn't deserve to have to herd Ujico and Setsuna at the same meeting.

<Pose Tracker> Leina Ashta has posed.

Leina finds herself impressed with Tessa's forbearance here, it must come with being a Mithril Colonel, a Shuffle Commander.

She doesn't butt in to add anything, finding that what they've said complements each other nicely.

"My thoughts exactly." She murmurs back to her, "I won't have us intimidated into compliance just because our forces are diminished."

If they think they won't play hardball just because Sayla is gone...

Setsuna's reply garners a simple arch of her eyebrow, and Leina's reply to him is more measured this time, there's an unshakable confidence to how she regards this topic, "Spoken like someone who doesn't actually know what maintains their corrupt status quo. You're not only humoring the status quo, you're playing directly into its hands. You're not a response to their system. You're a feature. Did we learn nothing from eight years ago, with Haman Karn?"

Regina however, causes her to smile pleasantly, "I do. However - let us just say we expect a lot of Ms. Wang's 'cute companions'. If you cannot resolve a fight with a common soldier without aiming for the cockpit or making straight for the reactor?" Leina's eyes flicker with mirth, "Then you are useless to us."

Ujico receives an immediate smile from her, and a nod, "Then you should have no issue taking orders from one of our veteran commanders." As Leina inclines her head respectfully towards Tessa as if to indicate such.

When Liu Mei slides down her glasses, Leina meets her gaze head on, but there's no sense of animosity there.

"Ha!" Leina says lightly at the term Understudy, apparently liking it. She is a theater kid after all.

She then listens to Liu Mei's proposal, and Leina sits back in her chair, folding her hands, "All of that is acceptable, however I'll add one final term."

Leina's smile disappears, "When we're participating on your operations - your people will operate under the Shuffle Alliance's principles, not Celestial Being's. All operations will be designed taking this in mind. If we believe for even a moment that this is not being heeded..."

Leina pauses for a moment for dramatic effect, again, theater kid, "...our armistice ends immediately."

<Pose Tracker> Karma Sato has posed.

As Liu Mei talks about the possibilities and people dictate philosophy Karma is, well he is daydreaming. It is a violent horrible daydream but he is taking that time to imaginne the Celestial Being Gundams he had just recently faced decimating a bunch of Britannia knightmares, there is even a brief cameo of Cornelia screaming for help. Quite violent indeed.

Suddenly though Karmma is being handed something and he startles back to reality and is thankful for the visor blocking his eyes to avoid seeming startled. Reaching out to take the package, Karma finally looks at the three new ...allies? "So which one is the pilot of the tank gundam and the pilot of the sniper gundam?" For a moment Karma is trying to judge which one would fit the ideal pilot type for each one.

There is a look to Leina and he can't help but feel the personality type reminds him of someone but he shakes his head and looks back to Liu Mei, " I am sure you will be hearing positive things from us sooner then later, the Black Knights are always happy to find allies who are competent."

<Pose Tracker> Regina Everhart has posed.

A change in method, huh... Regina considers this, but in the end, she will follow whatever orders she is given, whatever disguise she needs to wear.

Leina's eyes flicker with mirth. Regina's helmet reflects but the scene before her.

"Do you." Regina replies. She isn't particularly convinced. "I will fight according to your specifications. If you have any other requirements of me, then I must know them ahead of time."

That seems to be the last thing she has to say on the matter, so she goes quiet. The matter of operating under the Shuffle Alliance's principles on joint operations is for Liu Mei to consider... and she isn't a Gundam pilot, so she has nothing to say about that.

<Pose Tracker> Setsuna F. Seiei has posed.

         "Gundam..."

Setsuna trails off at Rita's question. He could simply say 'yes', that'd be more than sufficient. But that does't feel correct. To something he owes his life to, he should put more into his answer. That said, he should also hold back a bit, he shouldn't reveal too much. A nice, concise answer is what he needs.

"Gundam is everything to me, without it, I wouldn't be here."

He answers Rita as truthfully as possible, and with a surprising hint of emotion, before finally looking Leina in the eyes. She can make out the faintest glimpse of the boy's intense stare from beneath his visor, his brown eyes feeling almost piercing.

"I know about Haman Karn. If you want to compare our methods to hers, that's fine. However, I am as equally the product of the Federation as I am every organization that strives to make the world a better place with a soft hand."

Being hated is fine. He never expected anything different. Perhaps it's what he even deserves. That said, he isn't trying to purposefully stoke an argument, even if his words may come across as antagonistic. The way he's carrying this topic, if anything, makes it seem like this is a topic that he considers a casual conversation.

"I don't find your terms disagreeable. If we go against your orders, it means we've already fallen out of synch and there is no longer a reason to work together."

Setsuna might be missing the point of Leina's demands that she put on the negotiation table, but once again, it's another rare agreeable response out of him. Mostly agreeable, anyway.

<Pose Tracker> Rita Bernal has posed.

Rita can't help but blush at the attention Ujico has drawn by taking off her shoes... This was certainly not how she expected this meeting to go. Regina and Liu Mei defend their points with eloquence, and Rita nods. Despite Leina's misgivings, Celestial Being is still the most likely to come to Rita's aid when it counts the most. She has to take advantage of that fact.

Ujico, it turns out, is capable of being very cool. Rita breathes a sigh of relief. A slight blue aura appears around the shoes, probably unnoticeable to anyone but those very near. Taking a seat on Setsuna's other side, Rita is about to swing her legs -- but thinks the better of it. Liu Mei and Regina would see disembodied, hovering boots. Definitely a distraction.

Once again, Leina easily comes out on top in the verbal battle taking place in the room. Rita secretly wants to cheer for her friend. Instead, she radiates pride and warmth. Great job! The feelings say, You're doing amazing!

Wide, green eyes watch Setsuna as he speaks. Rita's smile is ever-present, but she seems serious despite this. This young man... Rita's eyelashes flutter as she blinks, considering his words. So many of her decisions will rest on Setsuna's, and his comrades', actions. And his answer?

A nod. It's accepted. "Me too. I feel the same way. My partner is the Phenex. You'd really like her, I think. Maybe we can fly together someday soon!"

Despite their obvious differences, Rita feels a connection to Setsuna. Perhaps he will feel her spirit reaching out to him, eager to forge a bond.

<Pose Tracker> Liu Mei Wang has posed.

Liu Mei's hands clap together decisively. "Then I think we have an agreement! And it's not agreeable just to me, but to my colleagues as well." With the click of a remote, the little data and factoids presentation shuts off. "After all - my role as a negotiator is mostly just that. I'm not exactly going to be whispering in their ear about the tactics and operations. Though sometimes when things are quiet, I'll give them my voice as company. Most of them rather like it.~" A barely percieved wink to Regina, Ujico, and Setsuna - mostly accented by the tip of her head.

The envelope slips into Tessa and Leina's hands too - each a line of contact and other pertinent but not too confidential information.

...Floating shoes are present, and there's a voice, a 'Rita' here, that they are talking to. Liu Mei cannot help but be...wary. Is this a Newtype playing some trick from afar? Why does it feel so close? "...I'm sorry, but uh, you two-" Gesturing to Ujico and Setsuna, naturally, "You're gonna have to...give me a bit more on what's going on here some time down the road, of course."

Karma asks a much more direct question, and that only leads to a light clicking of her tongue. "Confidential stuff, I'm afraid - where possible our operatives are discreet with information on who they are and what they pilot. I'm sure the Gundams will be making a splash well enough anyway in your care. I'm glad this meeting was so fruitful. ...I'll have to be heading off, of course -" Liu Mei passes by Leina saying this, but stops, craning her neck around, two fingers at her lips. "But I'm glad to meet such competent people. We won't be strangers, promise."

Not long after, the aggressively pink sports car pulls back around, gull wing doors opening up and the heiress making herself cozy within...! And then it makes a predictably rather loud exit.

<Pose Tracker> Ujico Issa has posed.

Not going for the immediate, lethal option? If that's all it takes, Ujico will be very useful indeed~ "I want to follow orders I'm confident in. I want to know that if I'm destroying one thing, it's to create something greater. Peace, safety..." She struggles momentarily for the right words. "...Something to believe in."

The meeting is over soon enough, and while it was interesting to meet so many new people, Ujico is relieved. Humans and their expectations... and with her helmet on, people can't see that she's different. Isn't that unfair to them, to expect a human and get something else?

Then again, as long as she can pilot a mobile suit and follow orders, they probably don't care what they get.

"I'll tell you soon, okay," she asides quietly to Liu Mei. "Uh... call me later." oh god oh god phone call nooooo

<Pose Tracker> Leina Ashta has posed.

Regina doesn't seem entirely convinced, but Leina isn't here to convince anyone, she's here to play hardball. She's not going to overturn a room of hardline Celestial Being with a single conversation. That'd be an absurd outcome.

"Don't worry, they'll be made known to you before we begin working together - I can promise you that."

Setsuna's brown eyes meet Leina's, and Leina's sea green ones look back with equal intensity. They are two children of war who have been hurt, products of this horrible status quo.

Each however, has taken entirely different lessons away from their pain.

"You misunderstand entirely. I am not comparing your methods to hers. I am comparing the Federation's response to such groups as yours. Do you know why they gave Side 3 to her as appeasement?"

A beat, "Because they wanted another One Year War. They regard it as population control. Merely intervening in conflict won't halt that. Because the interests of the elite are for there to be more violent resolutions and revolutions. Don't mistake the response on the news as the attitude of the people with their hands on the reins of power."

Leina enunciates it word by word, "They love Celestial Being. You are a scapegoat that lets them pour more money into enriching themselves and their interests while justifying spending less on making their government work for the people you want to protect. You have done absolutely nothing to challenge that... you simply give them fewer mouths to feed, and become their planned obsolescence for their weapons of war."

Rita gets a surreptitious wave, just a waggle of fingers her way and some warm feelings, despite the verbal match going on.

Liu Mei states there's an agreement, and Leina smiles sunnily, "I'm glad we could come to an accord." As she takes an envelope, and as Liu Mei stops, craning her neck at her, Leina, winks at her playfully, "Oh my~ I look forward to seeing you again soon then, Ms. Wang."

The envelope is slid away, and she watches Liu Mei slip into the Aggressively Pink Sports Car(She approves of the color.)

Standing, she does not yet move to leave, her eyes upon Rita and Setsuna in these moments, a look of wonder perhaps, and curiosity. However, she doesn't move to immediately socialize with her.

Perhaps she's worried about giving away something about their relationship... to this room.

<Pose Tracker> Regina Everhart has posed.

Liu Mei winks. Regina doesn't react. ...She hesitates a little at Ujico's words. ...It's... a noble goal. She concentrates on her empty glass, at least until Leina responds.

"That is all I ask." She replies with a nod. Liu Mei takes her leave, then, leaving them with the others.

Regina will remain for a time. She will talk if approached - but is otherwise content to let herself fade to the background. ...She's a little exhausted, after talking so much in such a short amount of time.

<Pose Tracker> Setsuna F. Seiei has posed.

         "Yes. I know."

Setsuna replies to Leina, completely unphased by herrevelation. Everyone loves a scapegoat, a thing to point fingers at. A boogieman that allows them to justify their horrible actions. That is what Celestial Being is on the surface. There's more to it than that though. When the Federation escalates, Celestial Being does as well, and while they're tied with having to balance more than a military budget, Celestial Being can devote their entire being to fighting because that's their only purpose. Seeking help and banding together with their enemies is the only way to stop them.

Peace through armed intervention, uniting the world and ending war through violence...

Reaching into one of the pockets on his pilot suit, Setsuna pulls out what appears to be a flip phone, tossing it at Leina as he starts making his way towards the door. It's a burner phone. There's no real information on it that's of any use, save for a single contact that is probably isn't a real person: Setsuna F. Seiei. It wasn't his idea. Well, it was. But it's an idea he stole from Lockon Stratos. Being 'there' in some sense builds camaraderie , and if they're going to be working together, even for the shortest of times, it's worth building a token amount, even if he hopes they never call. It's all for Celestial Being's goals, and nothing more.

As he finally makes it to the exit, he stops for a moment. He doesn't turn around to face her, but he's obviously now addressing Rita.

"I look forward to flying with the Phenex."

There's once again, a spike of emotion in the boy's voice as he talks about Gundams.

<Pose Tracker> Rita Bernal has posed.

Liu Mei has a pink sports car. Rita's mouth opens in an awed smile. Really, she had no idea things like that came in fun colors. Rita briefly thinks of painting the Phenex pink, before snorting and shaking her head to herself. Phenex wouldn't like that one bit...

"Ujico," Rita whispers, leaning in toward the other woman. "I really like your helmet." Rita brings her hands up above her head, mimicing Ujico's cat ears. "It's so cute!"

Leina sends Rita a reply, and the blonde squishes her eyes closed in a wide smile. Just as surreptitiously, Rita tilts her head. Does Leina want to come chat? It's okay if she doesn't want to. Rita knows things need to move sneakily in this strange world of secrets and machinations. She'll be able to find her friend when she needs to.

Setsuna tosses something toward Leina. Rita leans forward, extending a hand -- it hovers to a stop before the other girl, just for a second. ...oh, it's just a phone. That's fine. Blue light envelops the burner phone and floats it to Leina's hand. The whole thing happens so quickly, only someone truly paying attention would really notice.

"I'll be waiting, Setsuna!" Rita calls, her smile bearing a hint of true emotion in it.

It's time for Rita to go, as well. She stands, stepping out of Ujico's shoes. A hand is placed on the top of Ujico's shoulder, carefully, and a heartfelt "Thank you." is offered to the other woman. Rita takes Leina's hand as she passes by. She can't squeeze it, but she can project a little extra warmth for a moment. It's almost the same thing.

As soon as she steps out of the room, Rita vanishes.
