<Pose Tracker> Guy Shishioh has posed.

It starts, as it should, at the Main Order Room.

Ayame Ushiyama (nee Hatsuno) sees her console light up with urgent readings. "Uh, Chief?" she calls back. "Got somethin' comin' in fast!"

"Hostile?" Guy asks from his seat at the back, standing up. Something feels...weird? His hand itches.

"Well it sure ain't slowing down or answering!"

Guy scowls, eyes cutting to Ayame's brother-in-law Sueo, back at his post in the Engineering station now that heavy inspections on the fleet's equipment have largely concluded. "I feel like I've seen this data before, but it's not in the standard mass-pro list right now. I'll check the non-standards!"

"Hurry," Guy advises, and notices Ayame has stopped talking or looking at anything. If anything she seems dazed. "Something wrong?" Half-consciously his posture squares. Just in case someone else is trying something funny with their minds.

Ayame stares blankly for a moment and then looks at Guy just a bit stricken. "Uhhh I think a wizard is asking to land??"

Prickle is about to give her yet another of his lectures on precision in language when she yelps: "He says he's a Somnium!?"

Guy feels his blood grow cold, then a fire spark in his heart, a grin splashing across his face. "Ushiyama! Check GGG's own list!"

Sueo looks back with an expression of shock. "Found it!? But this is impossible!"

"Nothing's impossible with courage, Usshi," Guy says, and then continues, "Ayame, send our guest to Yamatsumi's secure hangar. Tell Mamoru, Ikumi, Sayaka, and Koji to meet me there! And have everyone else leave the area!"

Ayame blinks a few times, the haze of Limpid Channel contact fading. "Wait, leave, why?"

Guy hits the button to the command elevator. "I want to avoid Shinjo knowing about this for as long as possible. Our trump card just arrived."

==============

Orbit Base and the Division Ships are, in a way, parts of a modular whole. The Division Fleet contains infrastructure that serves both mobile purposes, such as unit deployment or frontline combat, but also home-base functions like data analysis and hangar expansions. Yamatsumi and Wadatsumi, the latest Division Ships, are less specialized than the fleets designed under earlier iterations of GGG, but still have such expansion facilities in place.

Which is to say, with Yamatsumi docked, Koji, Sayaka, Mamoru and Ikumi can simply walk from Orbit Base to the section of hangar Guy summoned them to. There they find Guy Shishioh standing at the entrance to a particular spot, fitted with a chemical bath and locking mechanisms that most bays don't have. Opposite him is a peculiarly-dressed man - almost like a bard out of fantasy, with a cloak thrown over his shoulders and a wide-brimmed hat. He has a smile...but he also has crimson for what should be the whites of his eyes.

A Somnium. And behind him...

Behind him is a miracle. An impossibility. A mecha, grand and majestic, about ten meters by height but more like twenty long. It resembles a lion, with clawed feet and a pristine white chassis, and a glorious golden mane, and piercing, glowing green eyes.

Galeon. The Robot Lion. The mechanoid partner to Guy Shishioh, but more than that, the very core of the first King of Braves. And an existence that should not be in this universe.

Koji and Sayaka won't know to be looking for it, but this can't be the Galeon that was lost at Orange Site. Remodeled into Genesic Galeon in the Trinary Solar System, GGG's first and greatest ally had changed colors to more of beige highlights. This one is the original's pure white.

The Somnium sweeps into an ostentatious bow. He speaks - his mouth moves, even. But the words don't come through sound waves, but rather across the lapping waves of intention that is the Limpid Channel. "A delivery for Monsieur Shishioh?" comes his thoughts. "I don't need a signature. But I do have some cautions."

<Pose Tracker> Koji Kabuto has posed.

A regular check-in at Orbit Base to touch base about anti-000 operations - Koji is starting to formulate a plan for at least one of the dangers posed by the Conquerer Kings and their Ruin Apostles - suddenly goes sideways, and he and Sayaka are invited to Yamatsumi for this meeting.

As they walk down into the main hangar, Koji's eyes linger on the chemical bath. That's... familiar, from their old battles. "... Wait a minute, isn't this for - " and then he sees the flamboyantly-dressed Somnium - and his gift.

"... Galeon?" His mouth drops. "But - shouldn't he be - " his mouth snaps shut, grey eyes almost sparkling as he stares at the great mecha-lion, mind bouncing across possibilities.

<Pose Tracker> GaoGaiGo Team has posed.

Mamoru Amami and Ikumi Kaidou arrive right on time, but separately. Ikumi hasn't entirely stopped brooding, but at the least, he's in the cafeteria more. Mamoru still needs to talk to him. He's waiting for just the right moment, which is soon.

Arriving at the hangar, Mamoru instinctively "Wa-ha!s" as he sees Guy and Koji, but...

He lets out a curse as his eyes swipe over. "Fishsticks...!"

Ikumi's eyes, despite spotting both, never leave the Somnium alone. On guard, cautious. But Mamoru...

"GUY, WHAT DID YOU DOOOOOOOOO-"

He charges towards Guy before sliding to a halt a few feet away, while staring straight at Galeon.

"Galeon was- is supposed to be- Guy, explain yourself!" It's actually pretty firm. Guy needs to explain or Mamoru will never stop hounding him.

<Pose Tracker> Sayaka Yumi has posed.

Although Koji had stopped by Orbit Base a lot recently, it's Sayaka's first time onboard for quite a long time. The place brings back memories for sure, but with almost an entirely new set of faces, the atmosphere is also unquestionably different.

The meeting seems to go as planned but then... she wonders what Guy would want to show them in the hangar, and why he so quickly evacuated the rest of his staff.

She spots Mamoru and Ikumi first, and as much as she'd like to talk about how much taller they've gotten and how much Shiro's missed them, as if they were her own nephews, something else catches her eye first.

Anyone who's worked with the original Gutsy Geoid Guard in any capacity would recognize Galeon... but he never returned from the Trinary Solar System with Guy. And next to Galeon is a well-dressed... humanoid with a pleasant smile on his face.

"Koji, you don't think...?" Sayaka whispers, guessing that Koji's beginning to figure out the possibilities too. Normally she would instantly be skeptical, but ever since Infinity emerged, it seems like anything's fair game.

<Pose Tracker> Guy Shishioh has posed.

"Me!?" Guy squawks at Mamoru's demand for his dark secrets. "I uh, might have asked Lamia for help after GaoFighGar got trashed. I wasn't sure even Alouette could get a replacement designed and manufactured in time for it to be used against the Ruin Apostles. We had a, uh."

"Executive meeting," the Somnium suggests, the glimmer of the Limpid Channel flickering between his eyebrows.

Guy snorts a laugh at that. "Uh yeah, that works. But you're right." He glances to the team he's brought here. "The Galeon we went to the Trinary Solar System with, I assume he's either with the Ruin Apostles or even still trapped in Orange Site. I sure don't sense his G-Stone."

Sueo Ushiyama pipes in from the Main Order Room, piped through the intercoms. "Uh, Chief? It's Galeon, but the system's finding discrepancies. He's not damaged, but scans aren't showing the right...no, wait, hold on."

Typing. A monitor on the wall flicks over to a feed from the Order Room. Sueo looks up from his spot at the Engineering Operator Station. "He's an exact match for the maintenance log on April 11, 0087? Uhhh, wasn't I like ten then..."

"Quite right!" Rice's thoughts come, and the strange Bard of a Betterman throws his arms wide in full drama, those crimson eyes a strange thing indeed in the cold hangar light. "I am the Somnium, Rice. Knowing the King of Braves' power would be much desired in the remaining battles against the Dawn, my brother Somnium Lamia invited your friend Monsieur Shishioh to visit a great hero of our people. Together, they murdered him."

Guy speaks up. "He wanted to give up on our timeline, and send some of the weaker Ruin Apostles back in time so that we could encounter Triple Zero during the Primeval War." He glances to Koji and Sayaka. "With that experience, we'd probably have had outright counters to the corruption by the time of the Trinary Solar System expedition. It might not have even been an issue."

Rice nods. "Quite so. And with a grand enough point of view, perhaps there is reason to it. Ah, but even we Somniums are not so prone to thinking beyond ourselves...and to do so would have trampled upon the sacrifices of those who have already given their lives." He places his hand over his heart, the twinkling light of the Limpid Channel glimmering sincerely upon his brow. "Regardless. The boon is my own, for my body suits well the Seeds of Tempus you took from him, and now the paths of time are open to me."

Guy knew this was more or less the plan, so he's mostly looking up at Galeon. "April 11, 0087?" he says, thoughtfully.

He half-turns, a grin splashing his features. "Remember that? That's the day you and I met, Mamoru. The very first real deployment of the King of Braves. EI-02."

Ayame pipes in, "OK but the logs DEFINITELY do not say a THING about a whole-ass LARP weirdo stealing Galeon that day!"

Rice looks at the screen briefly, then points to himself like he's confused.

<Pose Tracker> Koji Kabuto has posed.

Koji listens - or tries to make his oldtype brain as receptive as possible to Rice's Limpid Channel broadcast, at least - letting this information seep into his mind, coalescing possibilities together.

"... Quantum theory. Multiple-worlds interpretation. Parallel timelines..." He nudges Sayaka. "Things are getting weirder and weirder, huh?" He grins, the excited grin of someone on the bow of a great vessel cresting uncharted waves of scientific possibility.

Ayame shouts her bewilderment and Koji tilts his head, thinking. "That... makes sense, I think? There's multiple lines of logic that lead to it; either our friend Rice here will one day take this Galeon back to the exact moment he took him from, and nothing will observably change from the perspective of '87 3G... or..."

He frowns, trying to make sure he has this thought in the right order. "This isn't the same Galeon from that moment, but one plucked from an alternative past, and there's no record of Galeon disappearing on your logs simply because it never happened?"

<Pose Tracker> GaoGaiGo Team has posed.

"Yes, you! Who else?!" Mamoru responds, but calms as Guy explains...

He frowns at the word murder, but the consequences were clearly too great for anything else, and this Rice seems much more amicable...

"So it's like tthat! Okay...Ikumi, thoughts?" Mamoru asks his clone-brother, who thinks slowly. "You'll need Galeon scanned, but this is a great move. You guys have a surefire weapon." You guys...?

Mamoru frowns at Ikumi, but turns to Guy, Rice, and Galeon. "So I have to ask about the elephant in the room. Does this mean that Cain is...?"

<Pose Tracker> Sayaka Yumi has posed.

Sayaka crosses her arms, contemplative, as Guy and the Somnium explain all. To be honest, she didn't quite have in mind literally kidnapping the poor lion and bringing him to the present moment... but it's close enough to the train of thought she and Koji were on.

"Weird doesn't even begin to describe it," Sayaka quips, but she can't help but smile seeing Koji so excited. It is fascinating in many ways, and paired with the type of getup the Somnium is wearing, it almost feels more magic than science.

Taking from the past, to assist in improving upon the future. It's no different from the Photon Power Labs, but... "Normally I wouldn't approve of abducting robot lions from a past alternative universe, but I certainly would not condone giving up on this timeline." Obviously, Guy feels the same, which is why he made the call he did. Still, she has a burning question on her mind. "Still, even if Galeon was removed from a different universe, like Koji suggests, wouldn't we still have a universal paradox on our hands?" After all, even if their universe isn't affected, there's bound to be a disturbance in the overall balance of the world. It's just basic logic that you can't take matter without putting something equal in its place.

<Pose Tracker> Guy Shishioh has posed.

"I believe your human term for this is, a distinction without a difference," Rice supplies to Koji. "But you have intuited rightly my cautions."

He turns, then, and straightens, and for all his grandiosity, it's quite serious the gaze he gives Guy.

"I must return this one as he is to the time from which he came. Fail in this, and we both build and doom two worlds."

Guy grimaces, then glances to Quantum Mechanics Kabuto over there. "One where Galeon never returned," he speculates. "And another where he did, but changed. So that means we can't repair any of the Black Box or system damage, even ones we know the repairs for. If we return him to the precise same moment in...hopefully just mostly, the same condition, we remove the need to even worry about that, or the conservation of mass and energy issues Sayaka mentioned, for that matter."

Rice positively sparkles and gives a little two-finger kirakira salute. "Oui!" he 'says', the blinking light of the Limpid Channel illuminating the scene momentarily.

Galeon finally moves. The great, regal mechanoid lion steps past them all, quiet as a giant can be and careful with its footsteps. Its bay is familiar enough to its old spot on the Triple-Decked Flying Carrier, and soon Galeon has oriented himself, and...lowers down on his knees into his customary resting posture.

Rice says nothing about Cain 'cuz he never met the guy.

Guy, however, says, "Well, if he's the exact same as from that day, then Cain's spirit should still be in the Black Box, but not able to really interact. Still..."

He smiles, softly. "If you say something, I'm sure he'll hear it. We can't fix the damage that prevents him from speaking without the chain reaction, but..." He glances to Rice.

The Somnium tilts his head to one side, then his thoughts project, "If he is unable to speak...I suppose any changes to his knowledge should not disrupt time's flow."

Galeon's mouth silently opens. Invitation, as long before.

<Pose Tracker> GaoGaiGo Team has posed.

Cain is confirmed to be there, listening, but irreparable. Even so, Mamoru approaches, and smiles softly.

"Hey, father. This is Latio. I've grown so big, huh? It's been a while for me...thank you. For everything. I've got great friends, a great planet, and a great life thanks to you and everything you did. I know you can't and never will be able to respond...but when you see me as a kid again, just know someday, it'll all be worth it."

Mamoru's face is away from everyone but Galeon. This hides the tears. Even the stoic Ikumi can't help but soften up, even if his feelings are complicated.

<Pose Tracker> Koji Kabuto has posed.

"A distinction without a difference... mm, yeah, I guess so." Koji chuckles slightly, glancing to Ikumi as he says 'you guys' with a slight frown creasing his brow... And then Mamoru speaks to the being slumbering within Galeon and Koji feels a lump in his throat, remembering a moment so long ago in the Science Fortress Lab, shaking a certain cyborg's hand with tears in his eyes. He swallows, grasping for another subject. "... This is a lot of unprecedented things," he says, almost rhetorically. "This Galeon doesn't know you as an Evoluder, Guy."

That idle thought now spoken, he looks over more firmly at Ikumi, stepping over to the tall young man. "Can I have a word, Ikumi?"

If the Red Planet survivor acquiesces, Koji leads him a little ways away from the group. "Something's bothering you about fighting, which is... I don't think I've ever seen you like that as long as you and Mamoru have been piloting together."

He folds his arms, regarding one of his younger brother's best friends with concern. "If you don't talk about it it's gonna cook you from the inside."

<Pose Tracker> Sayaka Yumi has posed.

It shouldn't cause any dangerous paradoxes as long as they don't fundamentally change Galeon or fail to return him to his world, then.. Sayaka supposes that's fine, and she isn't the one who calls the shots here anyways. It's all up to Guy whether he wants to take that risk on his alternate universe self.

Mamoru cries as he speaks to Cain from inside Galeon, and Sayaka decides to give him that space he needs. It must be so overwhelming to get a chance you never thought you had, at a time you never expected.

Koji and Ikumi also step to the side. Even if it had been a little while since she last saw Ikumi, he didn't seem his usual self.. perhaps Koji has a lead on what's going on.

But with everyone else occupied, that leaves Sayaka, Guy, and Rice remaining. As it happens, Sayaka still does have some questions. "Does being an Evoluder change the compatibility for Final Fusion?" she asks. She assumes it's likely improved compatibility if the G-Stone is now embedded directly, but it's hard to say since Galeon has no experience with an Evoluder yet.

"Speaking of Final Fusion, is Orbit Base even.. in any condition to initiate one yet? I heard from Koji about what happened. It seemed like the situation was bad even with LiSA's help." GaoGaiGo and GaoFighGar's Program Drives are of course, down, and the original hasn't been in active use for a very long time.

"Although if it's a trump card, maybe saving it for the right moment is the move, anyways"

<Pose Tracker> Guy Shishioh has posed.

Guy watches Mamoru step forward, and smiles, gently, as his brother in all but blood speaks quietly to his silent father in the machine. Guy takes himself aside, to let them have some privacy. He finds a particular tool bench, and begins rifling through it. "If this equipment was all moved from where I think it was, then there should be spares around here..." he mutters.

Sayaka approaches him, then. "Well, in best circumstances, we'd run weeks or months of simulations, and then the same again with live drills, and with how much of the team has changed, we might need to do that again. But it is possible. GaoGaiGar's Program Drive wasn't damaged," he says. He glances to the side, grinning. "Hadn't been in use for five years, ya know. Only reason Inubouzaki's making the headway he is on the repairs."

Back in the Main Order Room, Ushiyama puts his ENTIRE FACE in his camera, belting, "There's way more to Final Fusion than Program Drive though!!!"

...pause. Ahem. "Ah, that is," he says, and coughs to hide his embarrassment, "The only unassigned GaoMachines are the Mark Ones, and those also haven't been used in that time! If you have me pull all of those out of mothballs and get them tuned up to modern specifications, yeah, sure, we can use them, but that'd take the whole Engineering department a couple weeks!"

"Which would make keeping it a secret from Shinjo tricky, especially if she starts aiming that kaiju of hers at GGG directly again," Guy mutters. ... Then he scratches his head. "The heck am I doing..." he sighs, shaking his head. "Ushiyama, try to keep the team small, but get one together."

"Alright, I'll get a list together."

Guy finally finds what he's looking for in the bench, though, and pulls out...a golden gauntlet, with the head of a lion above where the fist would go. There's no G-Stone socketed anymore, no Will Knife inside, but...

He clips it on, and grins at Sayaka, holding up his hand clad in its GaoBrace. "Heh heh. What do you think?"

And Galeon...as always, the reticent Mechanoid Lion doesn't really, clearly, respond.

But those glowing eyes remain lighted as they gaze down on Mamoru. The great lion rumbles, deep in its chest, rare acknowledgment of a kind.

<Pose Tracker> GaoGaiGo Team has posed.

Mamoru smiles widely at Galeon as he rumbles, before stepping away, wiping tears from his eyes.

Ikumi, meanwhile, steps aside with Koji. "...When I met Pommier, she told me to be selfish. Which...is what she's doing. Which made me wonder...'

He doesn't sound addled, despite what he says. "Maybe Shinjo is right. Not for everyone, but...maybe some people need to stop fighting. And if I can't handle my emotions around something that simple..."

Ikumi stares Koji in the eyes, tha burning Red Planet gaze intense. "Maybe I need to stop fighting, too."

<Pose Tracker> Koji Kabuto has posed.

Koji's brow furrows, more and more, as Ikumi speaks. "... Hmm. Shiro'll be the first to tell you I'm... really bad at interpersonal stuff... But I don't think it's wrong to be upset about a friend... And I do know about stopping fighting."

He gives Ikumi a wry half-grin. "I thought stepping aside would be the best thing for the world, back then, and while I love my work as a scientist..." He shrugs. "I can't deny I missed fighting. Not just the thrill of defeating a powerful opponent, the adrenaline of getting knocked around the Pilder cockpit, but..."

He glances over at Galeon again. "Standing up for something I believed in, even if it was just needing to stop Doctor Hell. Standing up to protect the people I cared about, that ever-expanding web of people that I'd never have met if Sayaka and her father hadn't taken me in. Fighting alongside Ryoma and Guy, helping the AEUG... There was a lot of strife and sadness, and I never want things to be as bad as they were then, but I don't regret a single moment of it."

He looks back at Ikumi. "You care about Alouette, or this wouldn't bother you as much as it does. Trust that feeling, your friendship with her. You know she's not okay. Are you okay with sitting back and doing nothing to help her?"

<Pose Tracker> Sayaka Yumi has posed.

Sayaka nods as Guy and Ushiyama explain that the problem isn't exactly the Program Drive, but the lack of available GaoMachines aside from the originals. "I could always volunteer LiSA," Sayaka says as if she's a mom making her daughter do chores. "Koji has already been taking her up without incident and the direct interface would reduce the need for manpower." She would probably have a fun time working with "vintage" machines by today's standards too, of course.

"Do you think she would do that?" Sayaka asks, in response to Shinjo aiming the kaiju at Orbit Base again. "As far as I understood from the briefing, Shinjo has been targeting people who consider her a friend. If Miss Pommier was the only one, she probably wouldn't need to access the base again." She slightly frowns. "It would just be a matter of using her to lure you in so she can take you out on her home field." If that's really the play she's making, though, Sayaka thinks it's a pretty weak one. It never worked so well when villains like Dr. Hell tried it.

Sayaka had noticed Guy searching for something, but didn't pay it too much mind, until he shows her the old GaoBrace gauntlet. "It's pretty nostalgic, isn't it?" Sayaka laughs. "With the original GaoGaiGar and Mazinger Z in action, it feels just like back then." She also thinks about the kikaiju and Count Brocken, inexplicably back from the dead. "Both the good and the bad," she stares off distantly. They'll win, just like they did before. And they won't leave the people that Guy holds dear behind.

<Pose Tracker> Guy Shishioh has posed.

"Well it's not like we have comprehensive knowledge of everyone who ever talked to her," Guy muses. "Langley and Nagisa were both surprises for me, at least. But no, she hasn't gone firing off wildly, you're right. This might be overcautious. LiSA would be a big help, too. There's some tests I want to run, actually...it's possible that the new GaoGaiGar will be even stronger than ever."

He pivots, looking up to his Mechanoid Lion friend. "When we were in the Trinary Solar System, my body was transformed into a Genesic Server optimized for interfacing with Galeon. This one's not Genesic Galeon, but I'm still Evoluder Guy. We should see some improvements in our connection now, and that might even affect the GS Ride."

"All the more reason to get everything geared up fast so we can get the data we need for Final Fusion sims!" Ushi adds.

"Good point," Guy muses. And then, toward Sayaka, "I spoke with her. I don't think that's her plan. For better or worse, Shinjo really seems serious about collecting these people to keep them out of the fight, rather than using them for the fight. If she wanted to actually turn them against us, we'd be in serious trouble." ...his eyes cast down, just a moment. "...which is its own frustration, but tactically speaking, we don't have to worry about it, at least."

He flexes his hand in the GaoBrace, and then looks up to his friend, impossibly returned. "...You're right. We're back in the thick of it now. But we'll make it through." He holds up the GaoBrace, lightly tweaking it into a testfire mode, and then sending the mental signal to fire it. After a brief whine from the motors inside it fires out, a clear green signal shining across the room to the opposite wall to display the emblem of Galeon's face.

Galeon rumbles in recognition. Guy grins wide. "We'll make as many miracles as we have to. Together."

<Pose Tracker> GaoGaiGo Team has posed.

"...I'll think on what you've said." Is what, after a long thought, Ikumi replies to Koji. At the least, he means it, as he heads off alone.

Mamoru turns to Guy. "I believe in you, Guy, Galeon. Together, we'll accomplish our dreams. After all..."

"We're Braves, right?" Mamoru spots Ikumi and gestures, moving to head off after him. Seems Koji said some stuff! Hopefully it helps.

<Pose Tracker> Sayaka Yumi has posed.

Guy says that Shinjo using her victims to lure in her enemies likely isn't the plan, and Sayaka crosses her arms again. "I was thinking of the typical villain play, but maybe I underestimated Shinjo, or misunderstood what she was after," Sayaka replies.

"I guess.. she really does just want friends," she sighs. It's the exact opposite of a villainous plan, but once again, it demonstrates so clearly how much the world has failed her.

Seeing the GaoBrace light up and Galeon rumble really solidifies what a miracle this was, with GGG's greatest symbol of courage returned. "To today's miracle, and many more," Sayaka grins.

"In any case, once we get back to Fujinomiya, I'll talk to LiSA about the project. I'm sure she'll be excited to come back, she had a lot of nice things to say about the place and its technology, you know." The Orbit Cafe food too, but obviously, LiSA added the caveat that Boss Ramen is still the best.

Finally, Sayaka turns to look Guy in the eye. "Remember, Guy, you always have the Photon Power Labs' support." Grinning once again, she adds, "and more importantly, you have Koji and I's support as friends." It's the same thing she told Renais at Sayla's birthday party and she means it just as sincerely here.

The message also goes for Mamoru and Ikumi, to which she adds, "Shiro's been dying to see you two, so if you're ever not busy, feel free to come visit."

<Pose Tracker> Koji Kabuto has posed.

Koji sighs as Ikumi walks off, but Mamoru has his partner in hand. He nods to the young brunet as he pursues his friend/clone-brother, saying "I hope what I had to say helps," as Mamoru passes, before turning and walking back over to Sayaka and Guy. "Yeah. We can't project force as effectively as Orbit Base can, but if things are gonna be just like old times, then that includes the Labs and 3G side-by-side." He moves to grab Guy's forearm and pull the Evoluder into a hug.

"Let's put everything we've learned since those days - " even though it hasn't been so long for Guy - "to good use."

"... And speaking of which, I might have an idea for taking on Amuro..."
