Side 7 - Space Fortress Barge

Barge is a machine of another era. Eight kilometers in length, it feels almost like it must have been built at the start of the Macross era. When such massive structures were being built at-large. Enormous disks are generating heavy enough Gravity that those who are used to living in space might easily be confused with the idea that they might be on earth.

There's a linoleum floor, and white metalic walls around Marida Cruz. She's currently locked with her hands and wrists to chains coming from the wall. There's a few plastic tubes coming down, intertwined with the metalic shackles, and end up going 'into' the shackles. No doubt she can feel the pinch of needles inside of her... or at least the sickening feeling in her stomach that she's being fed sedatives of some sorts.

She's been left alone in the chambers, but there's multiple cameras watching her from the corners of the room. At least she gets to rest on a leather 'cot' that comes out of the wall directly. Time is a haze.

Opening the door after a while, a woman steps in. Wearing what looks like military clothing. Bearing the G-Hound insignia, this woman looks... old. Greying blonde hair, an upright posture, a green-and-grey military uniform. Behind her, the hall looks to be metalic in nature as well, but darker in color. The lights above stop being quite so dim, and brighten a bit.

"New Type." Is the first set of words that reaches Marida Cruz's ears, as the cold eyed woman stares at her and the door gets shut behind her. She's adjusting leather gloves. Notably, no skin is exposed below her neck. "A word that cause so much problem. But, in the end, is evolution. Niet?"

Marida has mostly had her eyes closed, and she has done little to nothing to attempt to escape after evaluating her surroundings. She is instead focusing on healing her injuries and regaining her strength. Not like there's a lot she can do while drugged anyway. There is no change in her vitals to suggest she is awake when Vitaly enters and begins speaking to her. She just lies there patiently. Maybe she's awake, maybe she isn't.

But she isn't going to waste energy just to answer her captor's rhetorical question.

The old woman considers Marida. There's readouts on the wall indicating her vitals. Yet, according to them, Marida isn't even awake. Vitaly is... wary. She's dealt with a lot of unusual beings before in her life. From Cyber New Types to Cyborgs. But this young woman before her looks as human as herself. Just... younger.

Her combat books clack along the linoleum as she gets closer, considering the redhaired woman. Close enough that those chains could easily reach if need be. "Am not going to take chance with you. But, you do not need to worry. Girl will not be here long. Soon, Suberoa Zinnerman come. And he take your place. Another piece off of chessboard." Vitaly remarks, close enough to get a better look at her.

"Though you are not innocent either. All that destruction at Industrial Seven. Cause by you and that machine, and the inadequate forces of Londo Bell."

<Pose Tracker> Marida Cruz has posed.

Threatening Zinnerman is a good idea if Vitaly is hoping for a reaction. There might have been a slight blip right afterwards, but it goes by quickly, and the redhead's breathing remains slow and steady. She IS sedated. What does Vitaly expect? If Marida was awake and alert, that would be a problem wouldn't it? And the captor is so close now... Surely, if Marida wished to attack her, she'd try right now, yes?

But she doesn't. The Cyber Newtype continues to seemingly sleep through the villainous monologue. What could Vitaly hope to get from her captive now that no one tried to get from her over the past several days of imprisonment?

If there was any medical attention given, the irregularities in Marida's body compared to a normal human are probably already well-known. Especially... What has been done to her.

<Pose Tracker> Vitaly Sokolov has posed.

The irregularities, at least some of them, were noticed on a typical medical scan of Marida's body. Most of them are relatively 'irrelevant' to the situation at hand. But they've given Vitaly some insight into who this young woman before her is at least.

The woman slowly leans down, touching one hand to the ground. Marida can hear the sound of creaking joints. Metalic joints. The same kind of sounds she's heard around some of the Zeon veterans around her, no doubt. Metalic prosthetics.

She motions a hand, and the 'drip' to Marida is reduced a bit. Allowing her vitals to resurge just enough. It's clear they're being watched.

"I do not need you to answer me. I do not know if you are awake. But perhaps, some of this will reach mind of girl. You risk too many lives with war, you already lose. I understand. But I think, Zinnerman is cruel man to pass his war onto you. Call him 'Master'. What kind of sick person do that to girl, and then make her call him that." Misunderstanding the dynamics based on very limited context clues.

Marida takes a deeper breath as the IV drip is reduced. She has no special resistance to chemical inhibitors, unfortunately, but even so, she becomes more active within a reasonably short time period, even if her gaze is unfocused and glassy when she opens her eyes partially to look up at the ceiling. If she has a response for Vitaly, it may need a little bit longer before it emerges. But her head turns towards the sound of noises. Prosthetics, leather, an older woman's voice.

The same one from the fight that landed Marida here.

She just stares with a semi-relaxed, but ultimately blank expression. Perhaps she is even genuinely listening to what's being said instead of just thinking of how to escape and/or beat Vitaly to a pulp.

<Pose Tracker> Vitaly Sokolov has posed.

There isn't much of a response coming from Marida. Even as she opens her eyes up and stares with that blank expression, it's clear Vitaly was expecting a bit more. Or perhaps it's something else. There's concern in her eyes for just a moment. A flicker or something else.

<"I really think, that man better than this. I should have dealt with him when I had chance."> That prosthetic creaks further, and she takes a step back, starting to move outside of Marida's possible grasp.

As more focus comes into those violet eyes, Marida sees Vitaly moving away. She keeps staring. Then she asks in a voice thickened by sleep and sedation, "You too?" It's quite the non-sequitur. But she doesn't appear to be elaborating without some indication that she should do so. She instead just looks back at Vitaly Sokolov, almost... Gently. Like she isn't the one who is imprisoned here. Or as though it is Vitaly that deserves pity from Marida.

Vitaly does halt, but at the edge of contact. The woman slows at first, then stops, before she finally turns around. Staring into those violet eyes with her own cold grey-blues. "Da?" She simply asks, giving Marida the chance to say what she was going to say. Though she really doesn't like that look in her eyes. It doesn't feel right. She sums it up to just how damaged this girl must be.

<Pose Tracker> Marida Cruz has posed.

Marida's eyes sink a little bit further shut. "No. Nevermind. I think that much more has been taken from you than from me." She turns her head so that she can keep looking up at the ceiling. "I hope someone can save you too." Fog roils through her brain, but whether it's just how strange she is as a person, Newtype abilities, or just being perceptive, she seems to have decided Vitaly has endured quite a lot of pain and suffering, and that... Even after everything that was done to her, and the threats against the Captain, Marida still knows that all it takes to be brought back from a pit of despair is for someone to hold out their hand and acknowledge you.

"He did that for me." she says, then falls silent.

<Pose Tracker> Vitaly Sokolov has posed.

Vitaly... is not used to people talking to her like this. At least, not prisoners. They usually are angry and shouting at her until they are eventually silenced, or lose their will. This is different. But in her mind, this kind of talking sounds like Marida is part of some kind of Cult. Like she's talking about a religion.

Being 'saved' is talk she has not heard in a long time.

"Do not need save. Not by Zeon man. Am not child who worry about thing 'taken' from me." The old woman answers Marida, shielding off any kind of pain or hurt in her heart. In a ways, she's actually more 'pitying' Marida than anything at the moment.

"That man really indoctrinate you." Shaking her head as she heads towards the door.

<Pose Tracker> Marida Cruz has posed.

Marida closes her eyes all the way as she resumes reseting. She can deal with pain. But injuries need to be healed. Indoctrination? Just a verbal provocation or does this woman actually think that way? "Perhaps not the Captain. But there is someone out there who will acknowledge you and your pain." She takes in a deep breath and opens her eyes again. "I only ask that you give them a chance when you meet them." <Perhaps that Banagher Links could... Or Alma Stirner...>

"Your wounds and your anger are valid. I wish I could help you bear them." Marida thought she was alone. That all of her sisters were gone, that her Master was gone, that no one had any use for her except... For something she would rather forget.

Sleepily, she mutters, "...but all it took was one person believing in me..."

<Pose Tracker> Vitaly Sokolov has posed.

Vitaly halts at the edge of the door, hand signalling to open it.

The gates slide wide.

"If I need someone to listen, will talk to rock." Vitaly Sokolov answers Marida Cruz, staring back at her. The idea that she just needs someone to listen to her, to listen to her pain, sounds absolutely mad to her. In her mind, that's just something the young people need, with their weak psyche. That did not grow up around war, so they don't understand what it means to grow a spine.

"I have person believe in me. Many person believe in me. And thank to them, soon, Zinnerman will disappear and become another footnote in history." And with that, the woman steps out of the door and lets it shut behind her.
