Misato Katsuragi is a Second Impact survivor. After her recovery she decided in her college years to live life as hard as possible. Her living life in the fast lane belies her fears of certain flavors of intimacy and commitment after losing her father in the Second Impact. She has since racked up an impressive military career after graduating military school, having fought against the Dinosaur Empire, the Devil Gundam, Zeon and more and likely could have had her pick of posts had she not decided to join NERV to satisfy her personal agenda against the Angels. Considered a military genius despite her off duty persona, her talent at conducting operations against atypical targets ensures that she is right where the world wants her to be. Hopefully looking after her teenage charges will be half as easy to manage as a squad of mobile suits. How hard can it be?
