  • Summary: Julia Ampere sulks out of boredom in the abandoned apartment that has become her emergency headquarters after getting stranded in Tsutsujidai. She considers the city - then gets an idea for a scheme!

Julia Ampere, the Energy Thief, takes quite a bit of pride in her dashing, elegant, super criminal status. She is respected and feared, after all! A keen, intelligent, dangerous mind, posing a threat to any who oppose her schemes. At the moment, however...

Julia lets out an annoyed, frustrated groan, glasses askew and slumped over in her chair with a cheek pressed firmly against the kitchen table of the abandoned apartment she has taken over for use as her base. Her hair fans out over her face, the purple streak somewhat faded due to low availability of hair dye. It is... far from the ideal situation for her. While she has made efforts to maintain her own appearance her coat has started to become a little tattered. It's durable, yes, but there are limitations and she doesn't have access to the equipment needed to maintain it.

She has power, at least, so all of the electronics are on. She's Julia Ampere, after all. There is not a single electronic device she doesn't know how to power. In the corner of the room dutifully sits one of her smaller Electrocrawlers. It is inactive, currently - its shell open to reveal the energy tank used to contain the energy they steal. Many wires have been run to it, connecting to outlets or electronic devices, in order to provide them with power. That is not an issue, at least, but she is absent many of the others resources she has come to rely on. Namely... for all her knowledge and intelligence, knowledge of how to cook is one of the things she has yet to grasp.

She can feed herself, of course - she's used to having ready-made meals aplenty at her disposal, and her general crime-doing generally leaves her well-off enough for fine dining whenever she pleases. But this far out she's already gone through all the former she has access to, and the latter...

Well. There would hardly be any of those left open at a time like this, would there? She could, perhaps, acquire some resources were she to ask some of her colleagues... but while she has made herself available should they have need of her services, asking them such a request like that would put her in their debt. She doesn't quite see eye-to-eye with them all of the time. Some of them kind of creep her out, actually. So... best not to rely on them if she can help it. And there are, of course, ration hand-outs, she realises. But, if she went and someone recognized her...

Oh, yes, they might realise she is a criminal and cause a panic. But even worse than that, she has her reputation. Think of the scandal if they see her accepting charity. So, food is hard to come by. But that is something she can deal with. Perhaps worse even than that, if one can scarce believe it...

...She's bored, and that's the worst fate possible for someone like her. She didn't exactly come here with an excess of reading material. And with communications down, she has already chewed through everything stored on her phone which currently rests plugged into her charger plugged into her Electrocrawler. There's only so many times she can read the same thing over and over, and her games...

...Sadly, without some form of connection, she cannot access any of them. A tragedy.

She lets out an aggrieved sigh and then stands up, carefully weaving her way through the wires lining the apartment floor as she makes her way to the window, drawing open the light-blocking curtains she had installed to prevent people noticing the activity in this apartment block. She frowns, looking out into dreary, stormy Tsutsujidai.

"...This is her city, isn't it...? It's certainly seen better days... I wonder how she's doing." Julia muses with a frown. She remembers the girl, Akane Shinjo. She gave her (villainous) fashion advice once. ...And then, later, she drew the ire of her colleagues and Julia decided it best not to check up on her, lest she take it as an act of aggression. The city was different, then, but now... It's something of a tomb for them all, isn't it, if nothing changes? She thinks about that for a moment longer, though, as she stares out the window... and reconsiders.

"...But then again. They certainly mobilized themselves quite quickly, didn't they...?" Julia considers. It didn't take the people trapped here that long to mobilise themselves, to get to providing shelter and care for each other. So many people here, uniting for the common goal of survival. The sight of it... it would be inspiring for most. But for her... she is simply Here, Apart. ...Ah. It makes her feel a pang of something she can't quite identify, aching in her chest. But, that unity... that's something she can use, isn't it? Perhaps she can even satisfy that unfamiliar pang of hers at the same time.

That thought, finally, makes her feel recharged. A scheme it is, then! She hums to herself as she stares at the window, posing thoughtfully as she finally begins to Scheme and Plan for the first time since she arrived.
