A researcher working with Janus Research Concern in the Orb Union, Dr. Edelweiss has always shown a personal interest in the field of human evolution. However, she has been unable to obtain funding for her experiments in what some would call "fringe" sciences. In desperation, she has begun to take money from legally dubious sources to do underground research projects.
Background
Edelweiss was pursuing her doctorates when the One Year War happened, pushing her graduation into the next year and losing many of her peers. The devastation of the war, along with her having read the teachings of Zeon Zum Deikun, showed to her that mankind needed to change if peace was going to be a reality. After joining the Janus Research Concern, she was dissuaded by her coworkers from pursuing research into this. After the destruction of New Yark and the subsequent shutting down of Saotome Labs and banning of Getter Ray research, Edelweiss found herself curious and attempted to look into the lab's research. In the process, she found information on other restricted sciences such as Zonder Metal and Devil Gundam Cells. This search also put her on the radar of the criminal underworld, and finding herself frustrated with the restrictions of ethical research, she decided to undertake black market research outside the eye of the law.
