Karissa Kayden Halle is a young test pilot and former Texas Colony Ranger who was assigned to the Gunslinger Gundam, after joining Londo Bell. She is figuratively and literally a straight-shooting kind of gal, friendly and honest, with a 'Southern Neo-American' charm to go with her accent. She also expects the same courtesy and honesty from others. What may seem like naivety is just a personal policy of not judging people before they have a chance to prove themselves. Once someone has proven untrustworthy, they receive no mercy from her.
Background

(Redacted.)
(Redacted.)
- 0063.01.02: Wayne and Merridith are married.
- 0063.11.14: Thomas Marik Halle is born in the Britannian Union to Merrideth Kayden Halle and Wayne Marik Halle.
- 0065.12.15: The Halle family emigrates to space after having their citizenship request rejected by the Britannian Union.
- 0072.02.20: Karissa Kayden Halle is born in Neo-America.
(Redacted)
- 0076: Karissa's family moves to Texas Colony to become homesteaders for economic reasons.
- 0078: Karissa becomes interested in becoming a Texas Colony Ranger herself after her brother takes down a man who attempted to kidnap her in order to ransom her back to her politician parents.
- 0079.01.05: Thomas joins the Texas Colony Rangers at age 16 with the permission of his parents. Karissa is accepted as a "Junior Deputy", receiving instruction in how to do the job for the future but not having any real authority. She is mainly a cute mascot.
- 0079: The battle with Zeon during the One Year War causes Texas Colony to become damaged, making it essentially uninhabitable. Karissa's family, and many others, are evacuated. The Halles live in Neo-America, but Karissa is already attempting to secure piloting certifications as a Mobile Suit operator, alongside her brother, even though she is much too young to actually be enlisted.

(Redacted.)
- 0084: Merridith Kayden Halle dies. Wayne Marick Halle doesn't even attend the funeral.
(Redacted.)
- 0086: Karissa has nothing left in Neo-America, so heads to Earth to live with her distant relatives, the Sevans, in the Britannian Union, so that she can pursue her brother's dream of being a Mobile Suit pilot, despite her mother's last wishes to live for herself.
- 0087: Despite the best efforts of her family to break her of her "colonial" accent, they are unsuccessful. But Karissa is taught good and proper manners for a young lady of her family's stature.
- 0088: Karissa ditches the dress, manners, and the plans of the Sevans family to turn her into an Honorary Britannian, to become an MS pilot for Londo Bell at 16 and fight against Neo-Zeon and other terrorists.
- 0092: Karissa has spent the time between Neo-Zeon and Axis Shock living a respectable life, getting an education, and hating it. She manages to use her exemplary military service and family connections to become an Honorary Britannian, making Britannian her citizenship. She thinks what they've done to the Northern Britannian Continent is pretty gosh awful, as she was under the impression that it served as the inspiration for Neo-America. She is mostly just disappointed.
- 0093: Karissa participates in multiple small skirmishes with the new Neo-Zeon led by Char Aznable, after having been exorted by her superiors in the BU Forces to prove Britannian superiority by outperforming her peers.
- 0093.XX.XX: Karissa is on-site during the battle with Neo-Zeon that leads to Axis Shock, but is not directly involved in trying to stop Axis. The touch of so many other minds inside her own shakes her deeply, as her solid self-image has always been her guiding star, and now it was contaminated with the thoughts and feelings of countless others. After Axis Shock, Karissa takes extended leave to sort through her own head.
(Redacted.)
- 0095: Karissa becomes a test pilot for Londo Bell, occasionally "loaned out" to Anaheim Electronics, half for cooperation purposes as for intel gathering by the BU Forces. She is tired of fighting and death, but still loves the rush of piloting. She still has flashbacks and moments of disorientation when something triggers her memories of the Axis Shock, but is coping with medication and therapy.
(Redacted.)
- 0096.08: Karissa Kayden Halle is assigned to demonstrate a new specialized Gundam, the Gunslinger Gundam, at an upcoming military fair on Earth.
Resources
Karissa is the daughter of two wealthy, politically connected families with many exemplary military professionals. Even if she may act like a slouching yokel most of the time, she is part of a very powerful familial hierarchy. She just prefers not to deal with them, even if she technically has a manor house in her family's name in Southern Britannia that she could retire to her, and another in Neo-America, if she would just hurry up and get married like her family wants.
She pilots the Gunslinger Gundam.
