"People must change; otherwise, even if humanity expands into space, it will only create new conflicts."
The Anno Domini Gundam timeline, one of the 2000s Gundam AUs, focuses on Celestial Being, an organization performing armed intervention against those who would make war on the world, in hopes of preparing humanity for "the dialogues to come." It is the first entry in the Gundam metaseries to have aliens on camera, and one of the only ones to focus primarily on terrestrial habitation, with only a small handful of space colonies.
Mobile Suit Gundam 00
It is AD 2307, and Aeolia Schenberg -- an academic from humanity's distant past -- has appeared, announcing the deployment of Celestial Being, an organization which will destroy anyone who attempts to make war by using the mobile weapon "Gundam." Just what is Celestial Being's true intention? How unified is this seemingly all-powerful organization? And what are its actions really meant to cause...?
Integration Notes
The following are some things that were adjusted or had to change as part of integrating Anno Domini Gundam on SRTMOO.
Political/Organizational
- The compositions of many of the supranational unions are somewhat different, as they also accommodate content from Code Geass, Cosmic Era Gundam, and Front Mission. The most notable change, of course, is that the Union of Solar Energy and Free Nations has become the Britannian Union of the New Continent. The Human Reform League is roughly analogous to the game's Republic of East Asia (indeed, it more closely resembles the HRL than the REA, but we wanted to spread out the origins of the names of the supranational unions).
- The particulars of the situation in Taribia are slightly different to accommodate Code Geass's integration.
- If and when a new meta-supranational union arises, it will probably be named something other than the Earth Sphere Federation, since that might be too close to the Earth Federation that currently exists.
- There is a nebulous tie between Celestial Being and the Gundam Scientists of After Colony Gundam's Operation Meteor. While the Operation Meteor pilots are not (that they know of) members of Celestial Being the organization, they are part of the Celestial Being game-faction. Characters who need more information than this will have it.
- Several characters from other themes have been given Celestial Being Observer roles. For the most part, these are not characters who are attractive PC apps, and in some cases they are, in fact, quite dead. Or merely mostly dead.
- The nature of Aeolia Schenberg's goal has been somewhat edited. He has not missed the bus on the dialogues to come by 50 years, though this may have created a greater sense of urgency.
Technological
- Celestial Being is not the first organization to use the Gundam form factor, obviously. (There is a reason they use it, though!)
- The total number of GN Drives in circulation will not be specified, because we only want players to have to play GN Drive ping pong to the extent they themselves enjoy it.
- The Ptolemaios already has its Assault Containers, though not yet the GN Arms, unless a Sumeragi applicant really wants to go all in on having a totally weaponless battleship. The combat doctrine for mobile weapons is better-known. It's fine.
- GN Particles during Trans-Am Burst and higher states have some exciting effects! Excited Green GN particles (or other colors that aren't ESF mass production red/oranges) are Magic rather than Beam typed.
Miscellaneous
- While we didn't pre-generate the Innovades, they are appable! Innovades other than Ribbons will probably have to figure out what they're up to though. OC Innovades are also quite welcome.
- We have basically... not... done much if anything to accommodate sidestories like Gundam 00F. Please contact staff to work out any kinks you would see in apping a character from an 00 sidestory.
Development Trivia
The following is some Gundam 00-related development trivia.
- Originally, we were much more conservative with themes with aliens out of a desire to protect Gundam 00! We ultimately eased off on this because the International Edition SRWs provided some interesting ramp-off points for Celestial Being's goal even in a world with some alien friends.
- We briefly considered the possibility of making Mitsuko Isurugi a Celestial Being Observer, but realized she would eat Wang Liu Mei's entire lunch if she was and elected not to.
- The immense disunity and dysfunction of the Federation is there substantially to accommodate Gundam 00 (though it ended up proving very useful in also accommodating Front Mission and Code Geass so that's a big win).
