The Galactic Fairy | |
---|---|
This is a collection of the songs and performances for Sheryl Nome, a.k.a. the Galactic Fairy, on Super Robot Taisen MOO! Because this is for a crossover game rather than Macross Frontier canon, it may not line up 100% with canon/may make some things up to fill in the gaps. It'll also eventually include non-Frontier May'n songs as Sheryl's career expands beyond the scope of canon plot. Frontier on SRT MOO follows the TV version for the most part, but some parts of the movies and manga are adapted, and that includes the songs.
Since the Frontier plot, and Sheryl's career, are ongoing on this game, this discography page will get updated over time as well. If your character is a fan, keep an eye out!
Song Releases
Debut Single: Diamond Crevasse / Sagittarius☆9PM Don't Be Late
Sheryl's first songs, released when she was 16 in early December 0094. Diamond Crevasse is the debut of her debut songs, and was a song she'd been working on for years before it was professionally produced. As such, she wrote the lyrics and music herself, though someone else did the arrangement. It's meant to express her wretchedness when she was living on Galaxy without any family or friends. Sagittarius☆9PM Don't Be Late was the C/W ("coupled with"); she didn't write either the lyrics or the music. It's just supposed to be fun and flirty, as that was the image Sheryl Nome was going to lean into. As a Sagittarius herself, though, she's got a lot of fondness for it.
2nd Single: Pink Monsoon / I Became An Angel
Sheryl's second single, released so soon after the first that sometimes fan confuse which came first, in late December 0095. Pink Monsoon was mostly not written by Sheryl, but she included a few lines to make it more her own as it leans hard into "horny" and she was a minor at the time. She did write I Became an Angel, which is about her life on Galaxy after her manager, Grace O'Connor, scouted her up off the streets and took her in. (Pink Monsoon | lyrics / I Became an Angel (Japanese title: Tenshi ni Nacchatta) | lyrics)
3rd Single: What 'Bout My Star? / Welcome to My Fan Club's Night!
The final part of the initial blitz of singles to bring Sheryl Nome into prominence among, released early February 0095. Sheryl wrote neither of these songs; they're meant to project more of that fun and flirty public image, and to encourage the fanbase to get more and more into her performances. Despite this, the popularity of Diamond Crevasse made sure that fans still understood Sheryl had a deeper side. ( What 'Bout My Star? | lyrics / Welcome to My Fan Club's Night! | lyrics)
4th Single: Eternity / Infinity
Released about half a year into her career in August 0095, Sheryl finally fully took the reins of songwriting to release a themed single and use it to tell a sort of short story. Eternity is about falling into despair over losing a loved one, and Infinity is about the hope of one day seeing them again. The single uses a black/white dichotomy that would be repeated later for the song Universal Bunny.
1st EP: Sagittarius☆9PM
Sagittarius☆9PM | |
---|---|
Released September 0095 as a gathering of some of her songs. The image used for the cover (see right) is now considered iconic by her fans.
Track 1: Sagittarius☆9PM Don't Be Late (Japanese title: Iteza☆Gogo Kuji Don't be late) (lyrics)
Track 2: Welcome to My Fan Club's Night! (Styles Version) (lyrics)
Track 3: What 'Bout My Star? (lyrics)
Track 5: Diamond Crevasse (lyrics)
Bonus: Music video of Sagittarius☆9PM Don't Be Late
5th Single: Universal Bunny / Izolado
Released shortly before SRT MOO game open in January 0096. Leaning further into the themes of time and longevity that she worked with in her previous single, Sheryl designed the live performance of Universal Bunny to have a strong clock theme, though the song itself is more about the dichotomy of woman. Izolado (Esperanto for "isolation") returns to the themes of living in Galaxy, but this time presumes a fantasy of having been old enough to take care of herself when she was on the streets and someone having been there with her. Sheryl hasn't commented on who that someone might be, if it's anyone at all.
2nd EP: Universal Bunny
Universal Bunny | |
---|---|
Released February 0096. This is close to the real-world version of the Sheryl Nome starring May'n full EP Universal Bunny; the main difference is that songs that haven't ICly been released yet were cut.
Track 1: Universal Bunny (lyrics)
Track 2: Pink Monsoon (lyrics)
Track 4: Eternity (Japanese title: Eien) (lyrics)
Track 5: I Became an Angel (Japanese title: Tenshi ni Nacchatta) (Universal Version) (lyrics)
Bonus: Music video of Universal Bunny, of which the live performance is a recreation
6th Single: Lion / Northern Cross (/ Sheryl's Sister Spaceship)
Lion was a new song that Sheryl first performed on March 25, 0096, at a special pre-Earth Sphere Global Tour mini-concert on a Nergal space liner. The ship was attacked by Zentraedi separatists, sending it down into the Earth's atmosphere. Sheryl performed the song live during the fall. It came out on a single with a new song Sheryl performed for the first time at the last stop of her Earth Sphere Global Tour, called Northern Cross. Two versions of this single released at that time, on June 17, 0096. The first is the regular version which remains on sale, which includes just Lion and Northern Cross; the second was a special edition version that was sold only at that concert, and includes Sheryl's cover of famous Macross enka star Kiichiro Tokugawa's Sister Spaceship with lyrics adjusted to suit Sheryl's circumstances, specifically the loss of her hometown colony, Macross Galaxy, to the ravages of the Vajra. ([song|lyrics] / [song|lyrics] / [partial song|lyrics])
Unreleased Songs
Glittering Summer
A sample of this played as the background music for a couple of commercials released July 2, 0096 for a Sheryl Nome product, a sunscreen called Pure Shield. It's a bubbly, fun song, more in the style of some of Sheryl's earlier songs. It hasn't seen an official physical release yet, but it's available for download on online music stores. Sheryl performed it on a talk show called The Starlight Show and during the Deculture Festival beach party. (song | lyrics)
Live Performances
This only includes the Frontier stop of her canonical Galaxy Crossing Tour and live shows that Sheryl's performed on SRT MOO. It doesn't include any lives or tours she performed pre-game.
Galaxy Crossing Tour (Last Stop)
The Galaxy Crossing Tour | |
---|---|
Sheryl Nome's tour of the Macross colony fleets. The final stop was the Frontier colony fleet, but that performance was interrupted by an attack by the insect-like aliens known as the Vajra. Once the Vajra were driven back, the performance was rescheduled and completed later. After this, she was supposed to return home to the Galaxy colony fleet, but during the rescheduled concert, Galaxy were also attacked by the Vajra and lost, stranding Sheryl at the Frontier. Outwardly, Sheryl insists that Galaxy has survived and she'll go back home eventually, but in her heart of hearts, she suspects she's never going home again. This has borne a grudge against the Vajra, and she's transferred into the pilot program at Mihoshi Academy to learn how to fly and fight.
Nergal Industries Mini-Live
A mini-live Sheryl performed on a space liner owned by Nergal Heavy Industries. Took place on March 25, 0096. Though ostensibly to celebrate her new contract with Nergal after the Macross Frontier fleet returned to Earth, the concert was open to anyone who could buy tickets and make it to the venue. It also served as a sort of sneak peek to her upcoming Earth Sphere Global Tour (see below).
Songs Performed: Diamond Crevasse, Lion (debut, Sheryl only version)
Earth Sphere Global Tour
An Earth-wide tour to celebrate the Galactic Fairy's arrival at the home world. Currently ongoing as of May 14, 2022. Not every stop on the tour has had a scene assigned; those that do will be italicized and linked. Songs in parentheses were performed only in passing/as a mention. SRT MOO players are free to say their character attended/will attend any of the off-screen concerts on the list as long as it makes sense for said character. The image to the lower right is the official promotional art for the Earth Sphere Global Tour. If your character has bought any posters or T-shirts or mugs or other merch (aside from physical CDs, which have their own art) for this specific tour, that picture of Sheryl is most likely emblazoned on it.
Macross City
The first stop on the tour. Took place on April 8, 0096. A ticket raffle was held, and winning ticket-holders were allowed into a post-concert backstage meet-and-greet autograph session with Sheryl.
Songs Performed: Universal Bunny, Welcome to My Fan Club's Night!, Sheryl's Sister Spaceship, (Diamond Crevasse), (Lion), (Sagittarius☆9PM Don't Be Late), (What 'Bout My Star?), Pink Monsoon

A special tour stop, not originally planned. This took place on May 10, 0096. It was included on the itinirary by Grace O'Connor after meeting with Alexis Kerib to further her own goals. Sheryl agreed to it out of excitement over the prospect of performing inter-dimensionally. As the tour was just leaving Europe and heading into Africa at the time, they used the La Tour Ladder in Central Africa to head over to the Tenchu Ladder in East Asia and move to Tsutsujidai from there. The concert ended early when it was attacked by multiple kaiju, though Sheryl refused to stop singing. Her fan Ranka Lee sang along with her, albeit from a distance.

The Starlight Show Live
A popular talk show that Sheryl featured on, dated August 11, 0096. She debuted her at-the-time newest song, Glittering Summer, and used it as a promotion for a contest to join her at the recording for the music video for Diamond Crevasse.
Songs Performed: Glittering Summer
Deculture Festival Beach Party
The opening event of the Gathering to Unite Transnational Schools's first official Deculture Festival. This was Sheryl's first concert not as an intragalactic superstar but as a student, so it was low-key compared to her usual performances. Of course, Sheryl still took it very seriously as a performer.
Songs Performed: Glittering Summer, (Sunset Beach), (Remember 16), (Idol Talk)
The GUTS Crossdressing and Cosplay Pageant
Another part of the GUTS Deculture Festival, Sheryl performed the introductory song to the Crossdressing and Cosplay Pageant while in cosplay herself. While she never outright said who she was dressed as, she stayed in character almost the whole time. All in all, it was a heart-pounding performance that just might leave you high on despair. Puhuhu...

Commercials
Nome Pure Shield
Nome Pure Shield | |
---|---|
A pair of 15-second commercials that were released July 2, 0096, for a new sunscreen made and sponsored by Sheryl Nome('s production team): Nome Pure Shield. Both commercials play a sample of a brand-new, hitherto unreleased Sheryl Nome song, Glittering Summer. For the product, there's two versions, both in crystalline-looking bottles that bear the PURE SHIELD logo under the mark of the Galactic Fairy: a golden heart with a fairy wing on the right. The first is an SPF 500+ sunscreen in a blue bottle, and an SPF 10,000+ sunscreen in a pink bottle. They're made for those living on colonies with no ozone layer, but it's plenty good enough for Earthnoids too.
THE FIRST COMMERCIAL shows the product logo over a triple sun system in a brilliant blue sky. Sheryl runs past in a white sun hat and a pink swimsuit. Tossing off her hat, she runs through water, splashing it in her wake. Text across the screen reads, 'Perfect domination over the galaxy's suns.'
"No matter how many suns there are," she says, snapping her fingers, "they won't extinguish my beauty." A wave crashes behind her, filled with colorful sea creatures, floating symbols including her trademark fairy-winged heart, and even a dude on a surfboard. She flips her hair, which shimmers from blonde to blue, as the camera lovingly lingers on her skin as her drop crystal earring sways.
"Make sure to protect my skin!" she declares as the shot expands outward to show her standing on an expansive tropical beach. The shot changes to a close-up of her face as she presses a finger to her lips as the camera works up the silhouette of a full-size version of her posing next to a blue Pure Shield bottle. "The sparkle is out of this universe: Pure Shield!"
THE SECOND COMMERCIAL starts much the same way, but Sheryl instead says, "Beauty is a triangle." As she runs through the water, screen text reads, 'This porcelain skin is deculture.' In the shot after she snaps her fingers, instead of the crashing wave, two colorful fish smooch overhead and explode into hearts as she continues, "The morning sparkles like a jewel."
The beach shot comes again as Sheryl declares, "Make sure to protect my skin!" A close-up of her face shows her giving the camera a sulty glance. Then we see her running along the beach in the background, while the foreground presents the blue bottle, from which the pink bottle emerges. "Nome: Pure Shield!"
There's also a poster and billboard version of this ad, which can be seen to the upper right. The central text reads, 'Perfect domination over the galaxy's suns.'
Song Lyrics
Diamond Crevasse
(Sing-along translation by Ayu Ohseki.)
Dear Lord in Heaven
Back when I was deep in love with you
There was not a moment when
I imagined such a parting would tear us in two
If we were fated
To never touch each other again
Then at least, before I wept,
I wanted you to hold me tight and forget for then
Our long, long good-bye...
"Farewell to thee, farewell to thee"
Times twenty thousand
So tenderly and cruelly
To myself I said
Your gentleness when you waved your hand hitched my breath
But what I want now is strength
I encountered you, and then I was born as the stars glittered above
So long as I live, so shall I continue to love
What's the point in waiting for a hopeless miracle you claim's forgone?
'Cause the shining of those stars, blurred by my tears, are all gone...
Forever lingering on my skin, my heart, my dewy eyes
I'll never forget your warmth as you held me close like the rays of a sunrise
A long, long good-bye...
Farewell to thee, farewell to thee
My dearly beloved
Because I had you by my side, I could walk ahead
I know I'm not alone, but still I feel so lonely
So I want you now to answer me
Snatch a blazing meteor out from the heavens to light up a sign
I want to keep loving you, I want you to love me for all time
What's the point in freezing for a world that won't hold out a hand anymore?
I keep putting on airs, but in truth your touch is all I long for...
Why can't I find my way? My tears spill so fast, I can't wipe them away
I encountered you, and then I was born as the stars glittered above
So long as I live, so shall I continue to love
What's the point in waiting for a hopeless miracle you claim's forgone?
'Cause the shining of those stars, blurred by my tears, are all gone...
If one day we can be reborn into a world where we're safe and free
Then I know I'll find you again, I know you'll race straight to me
Never let me go, let us never again take love for granted
"I won't let you feel alone," I want you to whisper to me, planet...

Baby pink monsoon
Baby pink monsoon
Lady sings love, mmm...
I wanna lose control
It's all about communication
Until morning, you and I are just spinning around
We've got plenty of time to fall in love
Be my boyfriend
Let's waste our youth to get derailed and ruined together
Let me influence you deeper and deeper
You know this position's
The best, yeah?
Baby pink monsoon
Baby pink monsoon
Lady sings love, mmm...
A scandal so hot we fog up the glass window
Baby pink monsoon
Baby pink monsoon
Lady sings love, mmm...
I want you to do whatever you want, don't stop
For the most part, I'm a hot mess
You know that
But I'm keeping my hair neat and pretty
I'm old-fashioned
It's a 100% juice kind of game
It's pretty crazy, I am crazy for you
Let me influence you deeper and deeper
And then dump me on a rainy day!
Baby pink monsoon
Baby pink monsoon
Lady sings love, mmm...
Until your fingers touch me here, don't stop
Baby pink monsoon
Baby pink monsoon
Lady sings love, mmm...
I wanna lose control
Hey you, let's do communication
Even if this whole world is an illusion
Even if clinging to you marks the end
I won't forgive you if you make me realize
I'd have been better off alone
Baby pink monsoon
Baby pink monsoon
Lady sings love, mmm...
A scandal so hot we fog up the glass window
Baby pink monsoon
Baby pink monsoon
Lady sings love, mmm...
I want you to do whatever you want, don't stop
Baby pink monsoon
Baby pink monsoon
Lady sings love, mmm...
I wanna lose control
Hey you, let's do communication
