The truth is that they didn't want to be a mercenary, but did want to make a difference; their complex relationship to the Federation seemed best served in an autonomous force. However, they didn't count on just how inconvenient Londo Bell turned out to be, and were nearly inclined to leave when their tour was up. An assignment to the Ra Mari under Captain Zaress Ulyse would prove an opportunity to broaden their horizons, but tragedy struck on an assignment to Winter Wonderland; while their mentor the Captain didn't survive, the young Comms Officer Eight York did, and she saved Enba's life that day. Enba in turn helped organize the ship under the acting Captain.
