A cheerful young officer fond of games, Tempo Astelian has not always had the easiest of time fitting in with his peers.  A Coordinator from a nation that does not favor them, he found his successes were less often celebrated, and he grew up fairly withdrawn as a result.  Since joining Londo Bell--an organization that seemed less troubled by his Coordinator abilities and more in need of all the talent it can get--he's really opened up, taking on Eight York's former post as Comms Officer on the Ra Mari.  Now, he handles the needs of the crew with aplomb, and regularly serves on the bridge as the 'voice' of the Ra Mari.  His loyalty to his Captain has only increased as rumors about her go around, and not entirely just for her good nature--anyone with a problem with her is likely to have a problem with him, too.

Tempo Astelian has not always had the easiest time fitting in with his peers, but coming through fire with his crew has given him a firmer perspective on the matter. A Coordinator from a nation that doeesn't celebrate them, he had trouble in Londo Bell but flourished in the Three Ships Alliance. As Comms Officer on the Ra Mari II, he handles the needs of the crew in a way that looks almost easy--though it absolutely isn't. He has opened up considerably since his early days on the old Ra Mari, but he's hardened a little too--he holds onto his optimism by choice, and it's a choice he has to make every day.

  • 0077: Born as a Coordinator to a wealthy couple who turned to the practice after difficulty having children in other ways. His birth took place outside Federation territory, on a 'vacation' for his parents, and this got around the illegality of the procedure.
  • 0081: Tempo's little brother is born, without Coordination.
  • 0085: In the wake of 30 Bunch and the Titans' rise, the Astelians start to fund the AEUG.
