The Amazing Kumodoshin

The Amazing Kumodoshin was a fantastical period drama originally broadcasted in Japan in the early UC 0070s. It only had about one cour of episodes, airing for only three months, and finding recordings is rare. However, its special effects work is now considered ahead of its era, and it has cultivated a small cult following.

The Amazing Kumodoshin follows the adventures of the titular Kumodoshin, a doshin, or Shogunate-era peace officer, with amazing spider-like powers to project a sticky webbing-like substance from his wrists, leap tremendous distances, and cling to surfaces. Every week he would face off with various nemeses, such as the cruel gangster lord Detarame Dacchanbaru or the fiendish 6-armed Octopus Samurai.
