Terra

As Phase 2 begins, players get their first hints of Terra -- a world with similar geography to our Earth, but supposedly billions of lightyears away. Most of the PCs arriving from the Astragius Galaxy in Phase 2 have only seen small slices of Terra as a planet, and as a result, their ability to dump information about the planet willy-nilly isn't terribly high. For Terran PCs, however, here are some things to know about Terra. More will be added as questions come up.
The Basics
- Terra's world map bears an approximately 95% resemblance to that of SRTMOO's Earth -- too significant to be coincidental by far. It also makes use of mobile weapons known as mobile suits, and indeed, names like "Zaku" and "Galbaldy" are familiar to some extent to the people of Terra.
- International travel is much more difficult on Terra than on Earth; player characters from Terra in Phase 2 are exclusively from the deserts adjoining Ezia, Gaulia, Gondwan, and Efrico, which is a range of areas roughly equivalent to including our southeastern Europe, southwest Asia, and northern Africa. They are likely not familiar with regions like Ameria, western Gaulia, and Yapan except by name and a general sense that Yapan is a place people travel to seeking freedom.
- A lot of Terra is full of various creatures and monsters. You can eat some of them if they don't eat you.
- Terra is often referred to, poetically, as "Endless Illusion." The reasons for this name are not known to the modern inhabitants as a general rule.
- Terra is somewhat less populous than our Earth. Settlements often have a vibe similar to Earth in the rough range between 1840-1940.
Historical Knowledge
- The wars that have torn up much of the Astragius Galaxy only extended to Terra as they were starting to end, as Terra is neither a Balarant nor Gilgamesh client planet.
- Terra is significantly ruined all on its own, however, with large swaths of land essentially unusable after centuries of warfare.
Technology
- Terran characters are generally familiar with mobile suits, and indeed many designs from the One Year War up through the Gryps Conflict will be familiar faces!
- "G-Systems," which can directly turn energy and data into tangible goods ranging from food to mobile weapons, are fiercely guarded by various organizations. Access to energy is strictly limited by most governments, though this doesn't stop people from managing small finds and co-opting G-Systems for their own purposes anyway.
