A long, magnetic track designed to accelerate, or drive, a given mass to reduce the amount of propellant necessary to escape an atmosphere.
Mass drivers generally measure in the hundreds or thousands of kilometers.
Mass drivers become more common the less atmosphere you need to punch through, but remain popular for certain types of spacefaring craft on Earth.
