2023-09-18: Tempest in Azadistan: Continuing Day by Day (Prelude)

- Summary: Following a failed assassination attempt against Kaname Chidori, the Xia Twins go rogue, betraying their handlers from Amalgam, and forcefully taking a mass-production model of the dangerous 'Venom' for their own purposes. It's of little concern to them that this throws the Insurgents in Azadistan's plans for a loop... their gambit threatens to throw several Federation blocs into utter chaos.

Xia Yu Fan and Yu Lan storm into the base nonchalantly, as if they own the place. "Hey! You're not scheduled to sortie today-" One of the guards points out with a scowl on his face. Without a word, Yu Fan approaches the man, placing her arm around her his waist, face close to his. "What's with you, getting all frisky like this?" He demands, and then she reaches his pocket for a key, rubbing it across his hand. "Alright, alright... later." He grins - his final moment before taking a round of bullets to the head. Yu Lan's victim fares no better, falling to the ground, throat slit. Neither girl is above such dirty tricks, it seems.
Because it's the perfect opening they need, as Yu Fan tosses her shotgun to her sister, and climbs into the cockpit of Amalgam's state-of-the-art, Lambda Driver equipped production model Codarl-m. None of the remaining guards, or Arm Slave models for that matter, stand a hope of survival as the base goes up in flames from a single round of the Arm Slave's Gatling Cannon.
In the meanwhile, the twins' now /former/ handler, Mr. Kalium, or rather to them, the utterly depraved Mr. Gates, receives word of their betrayal. "My adorable little kittens did what?! I don't see how they could possibly take issue with me! I always made sure they were satisfied!" The cat video continues to play on his screen. "Whatever, now put them on the line!"
The footage displays the Codarl-m on a berserk rampage against Azadistan infrastructure, all the while escaping pursuers thanks to ECS invisibility mode. "What do you want?" Yu Fan asks coldly, shooting down the meagre mobile suit defenses the collapsing nation can manage.
"That's an expensive toy you're playing with! You can't just run off and /frolick around/ in it!" Gates argues, a self-satisfied smirk remaining on his face. "Don't tell me you're taking it for a tea date with our chums over at Mithril!"
"It's no concern to you anymore." Yu Fan scoffs. "From now on, we'll do as we please. They are Sensei's enemies and they will all die by our hand." She says, with absolute assurance that it will be done. Gates has no response left to offer, screaming and cutting the transmission.
Mithril is utterly incompetent - that Sousuke Sagara can't even use this Lambda Driver efficiently, and that Chidori girl is better served protecting herself than relying on her fool of a protector. Once they're out of the picture, Amalgam is ripe for the picking. And if the Azadistan insurgents and half the Federation are collateral damage...? Well, that's just too bad.
"You may have failed to kill the girl, dear sister.. but she doesn't matter anymore. This is the only way we can slay all of Sensei's enemies and take our own revenge at the same time. I will keep fighting them until I have nothing left to offer this Lambda Driver." Yu Lan assures her sister.
Flames continue to spread across the AEU, their leaders shocked by the brutality of the attacks. REA leadership springs to action to defend their own interests, and Celestial Being's Veda supercomputer recommends its pilots to take action immediately. And of course, fresh out of the interrogation with Vincent Bruno, Mithril begins to see this attack for what it really is. It's total chaos. Gauron is undoubtedly laughing his ass off in the safety of his hospital bed, right now.
