NEWTYPES ARE REAL! What do I need to know?

What is the Newtype?	I think I'm a Newtype. Is something wrong with me?
The Newtype is an intrusion from space into human life. Those affected are able to transgress into the emotional states of others, divining their internal landscape. Few are able to control their condition, and this 'knowing without knowing' can grow deeply distressing. As humanity spreads into the stars, unknown conditions such as Newtypism are likely to grow more common. Unfortunately, Earth and Space governments and non-government organisations have already weaponised the Newtype, frequently with high costs to human life and wellbeing. The Silent Calling vehemently rejects the notion that the Newtype is simply a fanciful tale to explain exemplary pilots. (Indeed, some Newtypes are not pilots at all; Newtypism is seen in all layers of society, from songstresses to sous chefs.) Ignoring the effects of Newtypism on our society -- and the human rights violations associated with them -- is the greatest folly of our time. The Federation lied to you. Newtypes are real.	No. While your capabilities may cause you difficulties or endanger you, Newtypism does not fundamentally change a person. Many people are able to live happily as Newtypes, particularly once they learn to manage their capabilities to avoid distress. Unfortunately, Newtypes are frequently unwilling empaths. While this connection can be enjoyable around friends and family, it can lead to social isolation as the Newtype discovers the secret feelings of others. Don't be alarmed if you aren't sure whether you're a Newtype or not. Frequently, weak expressions of Newtypism blend into mainstream society, and some may only experience intermittent transgressions. If you're concerned that you may be dealing with Newtypism, the Silent Calling can help to assess you.
So the Newtypes are aliens?	What does this have to do with Laplace's Box?
Unlike alien species like the Zentradi, Newtypism is a condition. It can happen to anyone, including Zentradi, and Earthnoids are as vulnerable as Spacenoids. Newtypism is involuntary; one does not choose to become a Newtype, though it may be forced upon you (see below).	Laplace's Box is an aspirational document buried by the Federation for years which states that beings such as the Newtype should be represented in government. You may be hearing your family or neighbours discussing Newtypes because of its discovery. We at the Silent Calling hope that this document helps to explain the reality of the Newtype to you, and that you in turn will educate your communities about them.
If I'm a Newtype, am I in danger?	I think there's a Newtype in my life. What do I do?
Yes. Newtypism is researched by many blacksite laboratories. The Federation may deny the existence of Newtypes, but it frequently studies them in secret. (See the February 0097 press coverage of the REA's Institute for Continuing Study.) If you suspect you have been affected by Newtypism, it is imperative you do not approach untrusted individuals with this information for your own safety. Newtypes disappear from all levels of society, from orphanages to hospitals to schools -- and this burden is primarily borne by Newtypes of low socio-economic status.	You may be have concerning or conflicted feelings, but it is important to remember that Newtypes did not choose Newtypism. In fact, it may have been forced upon them. Newtypism frequently accompanies terrible trauma. We at the Silent Calling urge you to offer compassion to the Newtypes in your life. We also urge you to maintain your Silence; though the Newtype is afflicted by noise, betraying their trust may lead them to a fate worse than death. They require our support and our assistance.
What if I was made into a Newtype?	Do you understand what I'm going through as a Cyber-Newtype?
Newtypes created through human intervention are called 'Cyber-Newtypes'. Despite rumours that Cyber-Newtypes are inferior Newtypes, the Silent Calling can authoritatively state that this is incorrect. Newtypes and Cyber-Newtypes are the same; the only functional difference between the two conditions are their origins. Cyber-Newtypes may have strong Newtype capabilities, while native Newtypes may have weak Newtype capabilities. Native Newtypes may also undergo later Cyber-Newtype experimentation, and this remains a significant threat to Newtype health.	Yes. The Silent Calling's own Oracle was subjected to these cruel experiments. Her Cyber-Newtype program gave her unique insight into the horrors of this condition, as the REA sought to create an anti-Newtype agent which could hunt Newtypes in the field. Our Oracle has the unique capacity to sense Newtypes -- and in seeking to move forward from the REA's hatred for human life and dignity, now organises outreach to assist others harmed by their governments. She wishes for us all to heal from these grievous acts visited upon us. A better existence is possible.
I'm a Newtype or a Cyber-Newtype, and I'm worried. What can I do?	I'm not a Newtype. What can I do?
The Silent Calling acknowledges the truth of the Newtype, and the dangers Newtypism presents to those affected. We have established several local contacts through which concerned Newtypes are able to access advice and resources. Counselling is available to help affected individuals control their capabilities, avoid detection, and cope with trauma. Please be aware that accessing these networks is necessarily a multi-stage process to protect the lives and information of those relying on us.	You must contact your governments, and demand accountability from them. Too often have the ruling bodies of both Earth and Space ignored the fact of the Newtype whilst exploiting Newtypism for power. Ask them why you were not told about such an important thing affecting our society.
