It was perhaps the most dramatic interruption of a business meeting President Delling Rembran had had in over a decade. A pirated broadcast, by the scion of Zeon. Sitting up straight at his desk, he turned his attention to the words of Mineva Lao Zabi.
Before today he had considered her merely as Monaghan Bakharov's future puppet for his ambitions towards Neo-Zeon.
Now? Now he wondered if Syam Vist had undermined everything they had worked for by planting the seeds of humanity's destruction in the impressionable young woman.
The news that Martha Vist Carbine had been taken into custody didn't even warrant his attention in comparison.

The screen on the monitor slid smoothly from a file of the RX-0 Unit 03 to images of that which was already being dubbed 'Singularity-1' by the Federation, various grades of classification marked upon each file. Staring at it for a time, he looked at the shots of the wholly disassembled Jegans into so many component parts. His hand moved over to tap a button, and he waited impatiently for the call to connect earthside, not that one would know it from his stoic exterior.
"President Rembran? This is an unexpected pleasure." Began the Federation Councilor on the other end of the line, "What can my office do for you?"
Without sparing even a single moment for pleasantries, he began. "As Supervising Representative of Cathedra, I am placing the full weight of the Benerit Group's authority into opening an investigation into the matter of Anaheim Electronics' UC Project, effective immediately."
"I- into Anaheim? Their star is on the wane with the scandal but- I can't just-" The president cut him off as if he weren't even speaking, "I am invoking our emergency powers for this audit, and expect your office's full cooperation going forward."
"You're- Y-yes, yes of course-!"
Disconnecting the call, he continued his review of the files, expression darkening the more he saw.
"Of course it would be a Gundam." He said, only to himself in the quiet. It is a small regret for an older man that he was unable to bury the entire legacy of 'Gund' so that it would inspire no further follies.
This time he would see it done properly.
