"Mm…?"

Eight York's eyes open on a view of the medical bay's wall, a console beeping away with her vital signs. She's on her side, laying in a bed, and as soon as she realizes that she blinks once and starts to push herself up.

"Wh–"

"Shhh," a calming voice directs her, Lavhi's hand reaching out towards her shoulder where he'd been watching over her from the other side. "You are fine, and they are fine. You passed out and so the doctor wished to observe you."

"..." Eight lowers herself back down, though then she turns to her other side with only a little difficulty. One hand reaches out for Lavhi's, and the other moves over the curve of her belly. "Oh," she says. "I guess it was a lot, wasn't it? How did it all…?"

"Mission successful. Banagher has returned home, and is resting not far away. He has not awakened, but we are confident that he will soon. Rena and Anita are also safe, and you have had their visits while you were unconscious." He is calm, and clear, and he looks into her eyes as he speaks.

"How long…?" Eight takes Lavhi's hand and squeezes his fingers, immediately seeming to relax at least some.

"Twenty-two hours, seventeen minutes." Lavnadim nods firmly. He doesn't have to check the time.

"That long!?" Eight starts to stir, before her fiance squeezes her hand and reaches out his other to set upon the first.

"It is all right. All is well. Captain Rezza has prepared a report with many details for you to read so that you may stay informed, but Dr. Bidan has given strict instructions that you must rest. Our friends are well. There are questions as to what happens next… but they will be answered. You need not worry." He seems pleased to have these answers–and Eight picks up on that.

"...You just have everything handled, huh?" Eight asks of Lavhi, and sighs, bringing his hand up to her face and leaning her cheek on it. "Okay," she says. "I won't worry. But I can get out of here soon, right? I'd be more comfortable in our bed."

"Yes," the broad Zentradi answers. "One more look-over at you from the doctor! I have also secured time away from duty to watch over you for today. We can spend some together time." Lavhi smiles. "...I am glad that you are awake, Eight. I was very concerned. I learned that you had endured that strange anomaly of time on the bridge, and then the matter of the Colony Laser…"

"I'm sorry to have worried you," Eight answers, lowering Lavhi's hands from her cheek down closer to her belly, where she sets them against her over the blanket. "But we're all right. All right? We did what we had to do. But I think all this hope and love is good for them." A pause, and a wry, "They're certainly active enough in there…"

"Ah, ha! …It is all right. I know that you cannot stand by while these things happen. It is one of many things I love about you, Eight. But please try to be careful while you can. You now have an opportunity to rest. Let us take it."

"...Okay," the Captain answers, though she is certainly not in uniform or on duty. "But let's visit Banagher on our way out."

"This is acceptable. …I will get the doctor," he says. "Please await us."

"I'll be here," Eight says, leaning over as Lavhi leans down to kiss her briefly.

Left alone in the bed, Eight looks around the room, staying on her side. "...Miracles, huh…?"

"...Maybe so."
