Does this look dumb?
Oh God, it looks dumb, doesn't it?
Lina stands in front of a full-length mirror in her room, turning herself back and forth, furtively looking herself up and down. In her reflection is not the usual mercenary in a bomber jacket and jeans, but...a 3G officer. In uniform.
It's almost like I'm an actual soldier...
Though the 3G uniform was a far cry from any of the Federation's military uniforms, to be fair. A one piece pantsuit (she had vehemently rejected the skirt typically issued to female officers) of primarily white, with green accents up the side and gold trim with matching boots, and a deep blue cropped vest with the 3G Green emblem stuck to the chest. She couldn't help but think she looked more at home on a dance floor than a battlefield. Though she couldn't help but feel that something was missing. A flash of red catches the corner of her eye. A scarf hanging over her closet door. She had "borrowed" this from Elsa a while back and had never gotten around to returning it. She grabs it, wraps it around her neck.
Huh, she supposed that worked. Something to wave triumphantly in the wind as she performed daring acts of heroism with the Gutsy Galaxy Guard, one guesses.
Snap!
Lina is jerked out of her own head by the sound of a camera, her eyes constricting as she notices Elsa behind her in the reflection of the mirror.
"Looking good, Lina! Strike a pose for me, I'll send it over to Sonia!"
"Elsamarie Lombardi, you had better not!"
Lombardi the Younger gives a chuckle and comes up behind her sister, placing her hands on her shoulders.
"Heh, I'm being serious. I actually like it on you. A nice change of pace from Papa's jacket."
Lina glances over at said jacket, up on a hanger. She hadn't worn a proper uniform since she was in the academy, so she had always considered the jacket her father handed down to her as proof of her ability. At this point, it almost felt like a betrayal to adopt another regalia.
Noticing the wavering in Lina's eyes, Elsa gently squeezes at her shoulders. "I know Papa would be proud of you. Besides, I look at that jacket and all I see is Felix Lombardi. I see this..." She gently pulls out one side of the vest and lets it fall, "...and I see Lina Lombardi. It's a perfect fit."
"I...guess an occasional change of pace always helps. And hey, even if you show Sonia, she'll probably just think I look cool, so there."
"Whatever, dork. .....Hey wait, is this my scarf? I've been looking for it for months!"
"Er, well...pi pi pi! Oh do you hear that, that's my pager, gotta go off, official 3G business!"
"Get back here!"
