For immediate release to Earth Federation press

As a finalist in the previous Gundam Fight, I have been asked by many press outlets to give my opinion on the Gundam Fight Committee's decision to call off the fifth Gundam Fight in light of multiple assassination attempts made on participants. I have decided for the sake of time and organizing my thoughts to issue an official statement for the press.

As possibly the entire Orbital Ring knows, I am no stranger to a Gundam Fight being interrupted by a devious plot. While I obviously would wish to see the Gundam Fight continue into the finals, I completely understand and support the Committee's decision to prioritize the safety of the participants, particularly given the precedent of the Devil Gundam crisis four years ago. Some may see this as a terrorist plot getting what it wants, and it is perfectly valid to think that way. However, the possibility of a large-scale attack at Neo-Japan with thousands of spectators involved is too real to ignore.

Many in the Ring are understandably heartbroken at the decision. The Gundam Fight is a point of pride for every one of our colonies, putting forth our best and brightest in not only combat ability, but science and technology. I would ask those people to not despair, but rather keep that love for your homelands in your heart and express it always. I know I don't need an excuse every four years to be proud of Neo-France, and I am sure the passion of the Ring can keep the Gundam Fight spirit alive even without a proper ceremony.

Finally, a message to Mademoiselle Fleur Bellerose, who so bravely and adeptly piloted the Jeanne Gundam for Neo-France. Let me tell you that you should not hold an ounce of shame in your heart over the unforeseen end of the tournament. I have been watching your progress closely and I can tell you that you have exceeded my already very high expectations of you at every turn. Rest well, and expect a hero's welcome when you return to your motherland, just in time for Christmas. I would also extend an invitation to the de Sand estate for a one-on-one conversation and some celebratory tea.

I wish a joyeux Noël and good tidings into the new year for you, the Orbital Ring, and the entire Earth Sphere.
