- Summary: In Tsutsujidai's colonial sea, a man assesses his latest creation. (Setup for A Walled Garden.)
A shipping freighter in Tsutsujidai's crystal-blue 'sea' never moves. And why would it? There's only one city in this tiny world. At best, it'd be an okay option for moving things from the northern to southern half of the city. Such a thing is...
... an out-of-context idea, a sign of Akane's laziness in designing and redesigning her world. One of the vestigial tails of Tsutsujidai-the-PLANT, after its transition from Tsutsujidai-the-world.
Isn't it?
A cough, a sputter. Blood this time -- not a lot, but enough to worry. But then -- is that such a problem, in this hidden space within hidden spaces?
"At least the Gutsy Global Guard left a big chunk of Volfogg for us," the man mutters as he cleans off the console. "I was hoping we'd have Kagero to work with, but the damned Nadesico..." An exhausted sigh escapes his lips. "The next best things fell into our laps, though. For a first attempt, this'll do."
A long breath out. Stabilizing. Then back in, with a faint wheeze.
"Azuma... Akamatsu... Pommier..." he hisses under his breath. "Just watch. The world doesn't need these -- byproducts of other worlds. All they need is a superior intellect with a perfected steel body." He walks over to the other end of the room in the submarine -- held within this false shipping freighter -- and stares at the network between Volfogg's remains, PhantomGao's AI core and Program Ring assembly, and an immature AI chip of his own design.
"I won't end up like Wanibuchi. Damned BioNet old guard... impatient, all of them."
The production facilities in the first-model Abyss -- constructed in Tsutsujidai's sea, and now constructing in turn -- whirr to life.
