  • Summary: Anita Rosetta spends a free day relaxing in the park, expanding her boundaries a little, and working on a personal project. It doesn't quite go as planned right away, but that's okay. Sometimes the act of doing is worth just as much as the eventual success.

It's a pleasant day in Nouvelle Tokyo. Sunny but not too warm, with just the right level of breeze blowing through. For someone like Anita who enjoys her peaceful relaxation time, it's the perfect environment. Thankfully, though she's on-call should anything happen she's currently off-duty so she's free to spend her time however she pleases. At the moment, that means finding a nice bench in one of Nouvelle Tokyo's parks to relax in.

Anita, as always, dresses with a mind toward ease and casual comfort - a hoodie and sweatpants in her usual preferred palette of dark blues and sea-greens to match her eyes and hair. There's a notable omission from her usual outfit today, though - the gloves that she usually uses to conceal her left hand is missing. Her left sleeve is currently rolled up, revealing the metal prosthetic. There's a good reason for this. She is at the moment focusing on it intently, taking tools and parts from the cloth laid out on the bench next to her and making careful adjustments.

Usually, she'd be a bit more careful about where she shows it off. She's always been a little wary of the reception she gets from strangers about her nature as a cyborg. It's given her trouble before. She could've done her work back on the Ra Mari, but... it's a nice day today. She wants to enjoy the sun. And besides, Eight put all /her/ cards on the table despite the possible repercussions. There's no point in her doing that so publically since she isn't the ship's face like Eight is, or even particularly well known(by her own design)... but maybe it's okay if she's a little more open, too.

And so it goes - Anita sitting back, soaking in the breeze and the sun as she works on her arm with a gradually-emptying plastic cup of peach lemonade next to her while occasionally stealing glances over to where her Haro can found rolling around in the grass nearby. The little robot stops occasionally, looking up or around at the sounds of nearby movement, the life of this little park. Sometimes its eyes shutter briefly as something catches its interest. At some point, it'd developed the quirk of taking pictures of animals. Anita doesn't mind it.

"Aaand... that should do it." Anita murmurs to herself, as she finishes making one last adjustment to her arm. She turns it around to get a good lookover, nodding proudly to herself. She then 'hm's to herself. She looks down at her now mostly-empty cup, then up at a table set up not too far from where she's sitting now. An idea forming in her mind Anita stands up. She walks over to the table and sets her cup on top of it before returning to the bench. She raises her arm to aim for the cup and then, after a second... her hand /launches/ from her wrist, attached by wire! It opens mid-flight, approaching the cup...

...And closes a little /too/ tightly, crushing it before retracting back. It goes a little too fast, reconnecting to her wrist at a speed that causes her arm to jerk back, splashing the rest of the liquid left in the damaged cup up into Anita's face. She sits there for a moment, blinking... and then, she laughs. She's always been the sort of person to take things in stride.

"Okay. So I guess I still gotta work on that a little..." Anita muses to herself, rolling her left hand and flexing the fingers to make sure it reconnected properly. That much works just fine, at least. "Well, I've still got time. ...But, I should probably get another drink first. ...And a towel."

Anita stands up and stretches before gathering up her tools and her unfortunate practice target, the latter for disposing of properly. She looks to her Haro, then, gesturing with her thumb toward the park exit.

"Come on, pal, time to go. We'll be back in a jiffy." Anita says. She heads out, the little robot bouncing after her. Anita hums proudly to herself as she leaves. Sure, this might not have worked out, but it's only encouraged her to keep at it. She'll get it right eventually. Until then she'll probably find herself smelling of peach lemonade again, but isn't exactly the worst fate in the world and the process itself is fun.

...And once she /does/ get it, she'll have a cool new trick to show off.
