It's raining.
The thought hovers for a moment, fails to find purchase. There's too much in her head already - battlefield cacophonies. Voices, angry and soft and playful. Her vision is dim and muddy red - soaked hair clinging to her face. Ennil shudders despite the warmth of summer rain, scraping her shoulders against the brick of some sleepy alley in Tsutsujidai.
Tsutsujidai? She's still here. Hope surges out of her chest --
'> If you lose, don't show your faces here again'
And sticks, violently, in her throat. She'd made all those promises, and Akane had been counting on her. She'd wanted a home. But this one was always going to be taken away from her. She could have at least been useful, so that Akane would be happy.
Instead, she'd just been Ennil El.
No matter how much she wanted to be here, it didn't belong to her. Akane was hurt now, but what could she really do? This place had to end. Akane would know that by now. What Triple Zero had always been meant for Tsutsujidai.
What she hoped it could mean for her.
The moan is low. Pained. It howls through the alleyway, echoes down the streets. She sinks inch by inch and lets Tsutsujidai take its bite of her. Her chest heaves. And heaves. And heaves. The rain carries it away. Ennil is empty. Her chest heaves --

Something hurts. At the edge of her vision red is tinged with blue. She can't be injured, she knows that - Whatever she lost tonight, the Dawn has already replaced. But she feels rotten. Something sitting inside her is pumping poison through her veins. Her fingers are numb.
Oh. It's so obvious. She's hungry. After all, she hasn't eaten since last night.
