- Summary: Koji Kabuto puts the finishing touches to a new invention, to finally personally crest the atmosphere and venture out into the broader Earth Sphere.
A new PLANT has appeared from nowhere, imprisoning a young girl who ill deserves such a fate. Sayla Mass has approached him about distributing power to the colonies so they can become independent. His comrades in Londo Bell struggle daily.
Koji Kabuto can no longer ignore the difficulties of life beyond Earth's atmosphere.
To that end, a new vehicle has been developed during his off-time, in the almost-disused bowels of the Old Photon Power Laboratory.
It is a pristine, gleaming white craft with a red nose and striping on its fuselage, its wings folded up and compressed so that the VTOL turbines on the wingtips can be subjected to proper maintenance. Fully extended for flight, its wingspan exceeds even the Jet Scrander, which was the source of much of the inspiration for the efficiencies of the craft's design, as well as collaboration with the 3G engineering corps and their development of StealthGao II - this new craft is an aerospace fighter capable of operating in any atmosphere or space itself.
Looking over the fuselage, Koji nods in approval. The Super Alloy Z has, as expected, held up well, providing his new invention with an excellent balance of weight and durability, but the true special nature of this craft lies... aboard.
It is cramped, but not oppressive, inside the fighter craft. As planned, it could uncomfortably carry, say, four people as a specialised combat-capable shuttlecraft. Access to the vehicle's Photon Reactor can be achieved from the rear of the passenger space, along with a variety of instruments to monitor and manipulate the craft's output. The cockpit, of course, plays to Koji's strengths - a flight yoke and dashboard resembling that of the Jet Pilder, bristling with its own array of complex instruments - this is a craft designed as much for scientific research in space as it is a combat vehicle.
The name... The name may need work, but Koji is strangely comfortable with the one that came to him after crashing out on the blueprints. The pilot of the Castle of Iron lays a fond hand on the pilot's chair in the cockpit.
"I can't wait to take you for a spin, Double Spazer."
