<Pose Tracker> Guy Shishioh has posed.

Gutsy Global Guard Orbit Base - a self-contained fortress of a space station, armor shining in gold, and docked with its support fleet. Atop its saucer-shaped main section, the three blue Gs of the Gutsy Global Guard's emblem. But, of course, with the return of Guy Shishioh, the Gutsy Galaxy Guard also makes their home in the low-orbit station.

It's night. Guy Shishioh, though an Evoluder now, does still need sleep from time to time. He is not currently getting it; sitting at his room's terminal, quietly sifting through reports from various departments of NERV and even a few requisitioned observation stations elsewhere. Reports from Themisto Eyes over Jupiter, reports from monitoring stations that usually focus on ZAFT. Intelligence will have a properly analyzed compilation report for him in the morning. Saginomiya's always punctual about that.

But he'd rather not dream about her right now.

<Pose Tracker> Lamia has posed.

It is much too early to be confronting Guy Shishioh. At the very least, that is how Lamia sees it. The Root of Evil is still little more than a seed. To try and harvest it now would jeopardize things for everyone. That's the rational thought behind his disapproval for acting, his personal feelings however are a bit more.. It doesn't matter right now. It's really not up to him anymore. He had made a promise, so he's at least obligated to attempt to honor it.

The lights illuminating Guy's room suddenly flicker before completely giving out, the area briefly being blanketed in darkness. The sound of the mechanical lock on his door suddenly engaging can be heard, followed by the sound of electrical wires shorting.

        "Evoluder Guy."

Lamia's voice rings in the back of the GGG member's head like an ever looming presence, before suddenly the lights in the room suddenly spring back on. Guy doesn't need to turn around to know. Know that a Somnium is standing right behind him. The same one that he conversed with over a decade ago.

        Betterman Lamia.

As if waiting for a reply, Lamia remains stock still, the only part of him that moves are his two eyes that follow the Evoluder as he moves.

<Pose Tracker> Guy Shishioh has posed.

The lights fail. That's....not, supposed to happen. At all. Maybe the lightbulbs?

He doesn't have long to contemplate before he hears the door. Now who could...

The lights come back up. An enemy getting here should be impossible. An enemy who would even think about attacking him directly in this way should be doubly so. It takes him a while to consider the possibility that it's anything other than a glitch.

But when Lamia 'speaks', the hair on Guy's neck stands on end. The Limpid Channel...

...he turns in his seat, looking up. "Betterman," he says. He's always felt a nameless frustration, aggression, from and with the Betterman. "...Hinoki's shown me the files. Lamia, isn't it?"

He rises up, mostly so he's standing even with the Somnium. He does turn; to face those strange-colored eyes.

He finds any further words dying on his lips. This isn't like J, where Guy understood the strange rivalry he had with the Soldier of the Red Planet and could largely gauge J's feelings. Even in this moment, between every syllable he speaks, he's trying to feel out Lamia's intentions.

<Pose Tracker> Lamia has posed.

"Evoluder Guy. Root of Evil. Fight and live, or struggle and perish... Either way, answer me."

With only the slightest bit of warning, Lamia springs forward, a blur of black and white as an outstretched arm aims for Guy's throat in an attempt to quickly and effortlessly crush it. Much like a predator swooping in on its prey, there is very little doubt in Lamia's intentions.

He is here to kill Guy Shishioh.

And yet, despite that, Lamia's voice still echo in the Evoluder's head, continuing the conversation as if his attempted murder is just a mere formality of their meeting.

"The inhabitants of the Purple Planet, describe them to me. If not with your own words, then with what the people here have documented."

<Pose Tracker> Guy Shishioh has posed.

Lamia is as ever, inscrutable, and Guy nearly disregards the first portion there; assuming it will prove to be part of what more Lamia has to say.

Which is why Guy isn't QUITE ready when his hand blurs at him. Still, at the speed men like this can move, that means only that Lamia gets dangerously close to his throat before Guy snaps his arm up in a cross meant to knock Lamia's arm aside. "What!?" he blurts out, less a question than an exclamation of shock. Still - he's a fighter. Stuck in close quarters his best bet is to force Lamia away, so he does exactly that, sweeping a first fierce punch out toward Lamia's head, and then a second, flat-palm, toward his chest. The G-Stone keens as green light floods the room. Guy isn't nearly Mamoru's equal in telekinesis, but he can manage a decent contact shove if he's gotta.

This is a frankly terrible environment to be fighting anyone in, let alone Lamia. If they damage the outer hull....!

Guy throws himself to the far side of the room, trying to buy himself as much space as possible while he thinks of a plan. THAT is interrupted by Lamia - calmly? Apparently!? Are the Limpid Channel's impressions even equivalent to tone of voice?? - asking for some key information. Maybe a more spiteful man would refuse.

Guy Shishioh knows well that sometimes you play into the game.

"The Purple Planet," he hisses. "The creators of the entire Zonder system. They were masters of emotional technology, as near as we know. Humanoid, probably. There's not much left to discover, after the Zonders got through with them."

He focuses himself up into more of a fighting stance. Can't get to his Armor. He might have more luck out in space, honestly, but that would unchain Lamia from going for an Animus Seed, which Guy has no counter for without calling for Brave support. Better not to risk if it possible. "What is this about, Betterman Lamia!?"

<Pose Tracker> Lamia has posed.

Lamia's arm is barely hooked by Guy as the first strike to his head connects, followed shortly by the second repelling strike to the chest. Air escapes the Somnium's lips from the force of the blows, but only air. There is no words or sound from him as he reels back and away to his own corner of the room to reorient himself.

"Zonders. Zonderians. Beings of metal and oil rather than flesh and blood, intimately intertwined with technology. Focused solely on their emotions and desire to spread, replacing everything with themselves. Humanity considered this a dead end, and thus they fought against it..."

Lamia appends more to what Guy said as he grabs hold of his own lower jaw, jostling the bones and muscles a bit as if assessing the damage done.

"What is an Evoluder? Do you know?"

Forgoing explaining himself, Lamia instead asks another question, this time as he drops to the ground on nearly all floors before rushing forward. Again, like a bolt of black lightning, the Somnium lunges forward, closing the distance between the two of them in practically no time.

There's no real discipline in Lamia's attack, nor is there anything that can be considered a fighting style. It's raw and simple. The purest form of murderous intent. His long leg stretches out to sweep the Evoluder off his feet in one fell movement, before suddenly springing up to grab him by the face as he's falling down to the ground in an attempt to simultaneously speed up the force of gravity while also pinning him to the ground.

<Pose Tracker> Guy Shishioh has posed.

It's not like fighting J, Guy thinks. It's most like fighting a BioNet cyborg, a great lumbering mass of muscle and metal, but there's no metal to be found here other than Lamia's earrings.

That glimmering light of the Limpid Channel, as Lamia communicates his intentions. Grandly spoken as always, but yes, that's about right, he thinks of the Somnium's summary. Then he asks what feels like a loaded question.

And then Lamia's on him. Guy's gotten too used to being the fastest thing in the room. J would be laughing. He gets him, this time; the question, the speed, the raw animal ferocity of it manage to get Guy off his feet, and from there it's a swift, vicious slam to the ground. Stars dance in his vision. But he knows he can't let this one last. His hand keens - his Evoluder powers rushing through him, clearing his thoughts. He's able to tuck his legs up before Lamia gets on top of him, using those to springboard the Somnium away, then swiftly kip himself back up to his feet.

"A human being fully merged with alien Ultra Technological material," Guy huffs out. Can't even leave the room, it's more dangerous for the staff. So, fine. He fights Lamia here. Be nice if he had his Will Knife.

"We're still determining...all the effects."

What...is he?

It's a question he has to struggle with, from time to time. But fighting to the death has a way of putting existentialism aside. A hit and run fighter under normal circumstances, Guy thus dives back in, coming at Lamia with a charging punch meant to slam him into the wall so Guy can lay into him.

<Pose Tracker> Lamia has posed.

Once again, Lamia is repelled, the force of Guy's legs more than enough to pry him off. This time however, he's able to do more than just stumble back, instead catching himself by landing on both his hands and flipping back, landing back on his two legs with practiced ease.

"I believe you know why I am here, Evoluder Guy. I do not believe the thought hasn't crossed your mind before I got here. The power that both you and your beloved possess.. The Somnium... They exist to protect humanity. Protect them from threats they cannot or refuse to see. That is why-"

There's a flicker of the lights again that cuts Lamia off, as the GGG base's intruder alarm within the room suddenly goes off. Whatever electrical interference that had been going on seems to have subsided.

It is something that shouldn't prove much of a problem for Lamia however. If he simply just pushes the advantage he has even harder, he's sure to win after catching Guy in such a compromised situation, and yet...

He's gone. The distraction caused by the sudden blaring sound was used as an opportunity to leave, leaving little to no trace that he was ever there besides the mess left behind in the room.

Ominously however, despite having already left, Lamia's voice claws its way into Guy's head one last time, sounding more distant and far off compared to previously.

"We will meet again, Root of Evil. This conversation is not over."
