Kathras Fari is a rising star in the Gaia Sabers, a prominent officer from Londo Bell who heroically resisted the rebellion of so many of his comrades as the Three Ships Alliance. Having left in order to maintain his integrity before they broke off, his career in Londo Bell took off after that, raising him quickly through the ranks. More than rumors say, though, that he has significant connections--his dead diplomat father's friends in high places, and links to organizations such as Blue Cosmos. He is a noted, heroic figure--but the truth is that underneath his polished exterior is a man who has never moved on fully from his dismissal from the Ra Mari. His easygoing demeanor and bright platitudes belie deep cynicism, but through it he is committed to order in the Earth Sphere.

• 0075: Born to the wife of a weapons development executive in the Britannian Union.
• 0079: The One Year War. It's good for business! Father is promoted.
• 0080: Father's company gains a lucrative contract preparing for the Gundam Fight.
• 0083: Operation Stardust claims Kathras's home in the country, though he is out with his family on a vacation at the time. They move to a Federation colony to be closer to weapons development projects in space; the base they live near is on Londenion.
• 0084: Chaos in the colonies makes Kathras's father grow more paranoid, and he begins stockpiling weapons of his own.
• 0085: The elder Fari begins supporting the AEUG, and Kathras grows up idolizing the noble pilots seeming to bring order out of chaos. However, his father loses out on an important contract that goes to a PLANT engineer instead. He shifts career paths, becoming a politician on the strength of an easy smile and a calculating mind.
• 0093: Kathras joins Londo Bell out of high school, eager to emulate his heroes. War becomes more complex than he realized. The fighting against Neo-Zeon is difficult, and he loses many friends in the wars.
• 0095: Kathras's father receives a great opportunity to sit at the table during the negotiations with the PLANTs. He is part of the delegation that is murdered before the treaty meeting. Kathras swears vengeance against the PLANTs. The incident at Winter Wonderland sees Kathras Fari take over the weapons systems of the Ra Mari, and he helps to save the ship and the colony under Eight York. He begins to admire her as like one of the heroes of his childhood, and to feel like he himself is making a difference. However...
• 0097: Kathras's role in the rumors about Captain York come to light, thanks to Enba Rezza. He confesses to the Captain, and is transferred from the Ra Mari. Soon thereafter, the Ra Mari rebels as part of the Three Ships Alliance. He remains loyal to the Federation, and serves as such in the battles to come. When the Federation makes peace with the PLANTs, he takes over his father's holdings officially.
• 0098: Kathras becomes a popular figure in Natural-identitarian talk news and radio as he is promoted to Captain and given his first command: the Agammenon-class carrier Aion.

Resources

Kathras Fari has access to a significant fortune left to him by his politician father, Erd Fari. He also has a lot of friends in the Federation, particularly but not exclusively in Londo Bell, and through his father has some links on tap to shadier groups. His father was a member of Blue Cosmos, and Kathras Fari has assumed his father's old position in that party. More to the point, he has been inducted into some of the shadowy groups /behind/ Blue Cosmos.

His political connections are significant, and have afforded him a full command at a young age. He's also famous in news circles for his charismatic interviews.

As Captain of the Aion, he has access to its full complement of mobile weapons and a larger than usual latitude in what he can do with it, thanks to his political connections. So long as he operates within his remit, when he doesn't have more specific orders he can decide what's worth investigating.
