"This time, I’ll definitely… make you happy."

-- Kaworu Nagisa

The Evangelion metaseries began with the original Neon Genesis Evangelion in 1995. Since then, Evangelion has spawned additional, novel content in everything from side manga to video games to pachinko machines, as well as an alternate ending movie, a manga that diverges from the TV series, and a reboot film series that gets steadily more different with each film.

Rebuild of Evangelion

Shinji Ikari, son of NERV commander Gendo Ikari, is called upon to pilot the Evangelion in defense of humanity. Facing life-and-death challenges, he struggles to grow close with others, including his commander and caretaker Misato Katsuragi, his fellow pilots Asuka, Rei, and Mari, his classmates Toji and Kensuke, and -- of course -- his father.

Neon Genesis Evangelion: ANIMA

Set three years after a major continuity divergence from the original TV series, ANIMA follows the Evangelion team as it continues to defend the world. Unfortunately, its enemies go beyond just Angels; other humans have their own plans, and a mysterious foe, Armaros, looms large.

Neon Genesis Evangelion 2 -Another Cases-

A mid-2000s video game, NGE2 provides insights into the lore of Evangelion through interviews and case files, as well as showing alternative scenarios.

Integration Notes

The following are elements of the Evangelion series that had to bend, change, or be adjusted for integration on SRTMOO.

  • This is a Rebuild-centric integration. The reason that the original TV series is not listed as a source on this page is because, to the greatest extent possible, Rebuild of Evangelion 1.x and 2.x have been used to inform character backstories and theme notes.
