  • Summary: A masked vigilante has begun roaming the streets of Neo-America, and the Little Lip Revue prepares for the summer season.

"Come on, go go go!" The Driver kicks open the back of the van parked in front of the bank and scrambles to the driver's seat as The Brain and The Muscle crawl in, bags filled with ill-gotten gains. The van screeches forward into the streets of the financial district as security guards futilely run after.

"You sure we're good?"

"Hundred percent. The worm I put into their systems cuts off their alarm's connection to the police, and we'll be well outta here before they even get there."

"Hell yeah!"

"All I gotta do is get across the Liberty Bridge and....HORSE!"

"Yeah, we'll...horse?"

The three robbers barely have a chance to be confused before a white horse leaps on the hood of the van and onto the roof, the Driver squealing to a halt.

"What the hell was that?!"

"How should I know?!"

The argument is cut short, quite literally, as the back doors of the van are sliced open, falling to the street to reveal the assailant: A young girl with a katana and the aforementioned white horse, both wearing masks.

"The buck stops here, partners."

The three pull out their guns. "It's just some damn kid! Get rid of her!"

MASKED WOMAN FOILS BANK ROBBERY

"Sheesh, you just never know what's going to happen next in this town." Michael Sunnyside, the proprietor of the Little Lip Theater and the commander of the Neo-America Combat Revue, folds the morning newspaper and sets it down on his desk, the front page showing a photo of the three bank robbers tied up together against a lamp post. "Well, it's not our problem. I'm sure Sagitta will have words about it, but she tends to have words about a lot of things. What can ya do?"

Ratchet Altair, Sunnyside's assistant and the vice-commander of the Combat Revue, nods. "I'm sure the authorities will take care of it soon enough. On more important matters, we've put together the performance slate for our summer season. If you'll take a look."

She hands a folder to Sunnyside, who flips through it, making various noises of approval. "It looks good to me. And with Gemini on break from school, not even Dr. Mass can keep her off of my stage."

As if on cue, a loud 'yaaaaawn' is heard from outside the office, muffled by the door.

"Though I suppose the one I 'should' be worrying about is the Sandman! Miss Gemini, I know you don't have school right now, but please make sure you're getting adequate rest, yes? You're a growing girl!"

In the hallway outside, Gemini, who was very close to nodding off against her mop, jerks up at Sunnyside's voice and nearly slips on her own wet floor. "A-Aaah! Y-Yessir, Mr. Sunnyside! Sorry!" Wiping her eyes, she composes herself and continues with her janitorial duties.

"Shucks, I swear I'm gettin' to bed on time, but it's like I just ain't gettin' any sleep..."
