  • Summary: Puru Ten is desperate to go out and explore Earth, but first she has to convince the doctor who has been her shepherd for over a year...

<Pose Tracker> Puru Ten has posed.

Germany! Home to beer and sausage! Maybe! Ten doesn't actually know what it's famous for. She thinks an angry moustache model might be from there? Something like that. Anyway, she is excited to get a look at it. She has been on Earth for a few days now, ever since that fiasco with the REA Forces. She thinks it was them anyway. To be honest she wasn't entirely sure who she was fighting or why except that there was some kind of sub-station she needed to blow up, which she subsequently failed to blow up because she was busy playing with a lady in a robot that turned into other robots. They got interrupted by that damn Missile Guy, but he'll get his due soon enough.
With her Qubeley under repairs and the Doctor here on Earth, she believes she's finally free to do as she pleases for awhile on her down time. Hopefully the Doctor agrees.
An unarmed civilian transport has landed at a commercial spaceport, with Puru Ten aboard it. She was picked up after the battle. As she waits for the bay doors to open, she anxiously bounces up and down on the heels of her feet while waiting for the Doctor to emerge from their quarters. Why does it take old people so long to get ready!? Don't they know she has places to be and things to do!?!

<Pose Tracker> Doctor Salamedes has posed.

Puru Ten gets to wait. And wait. And wait. But eventually, the door slides open, and the figure of Doctor Salamedes stands in the doorway, mono-eye sensor already fixed on her. Of course they knew she was there. They have masked their presence as much as possible, having 'vented' a bit on the way to Earth. It wouldn't do to have another run in with someone like that Banagher Links now would it? So, aside from the regular hissing of a mechanical respirator, and the facemask that seems a bit >too< closely-fitted to be an actual mask, and the long black cloak that drapes over their entire body, and the spindly mechanical arms... And all the rest... Well, putting all those details aside, Doctor Salamedes seems completely normal and not creepy at all!

"And what has you so excited today, hm?" Salamedes asks as they sweep past Ten and begin float-walk-crawl-slithering down the corridor. The means of locomotion is as unclear as ever. "Do you need more work to do? We have some tests we can run with the data collected during your battle if you would like to spend your energy on that."

<Pose Tracker> Puru Ten has posed.

The Puru's bouncing intensifies while she waits, eventually including muttering, pacing, and folded-arms-with-foot-tapping. When the Doctor finally shows up, it's past lunch time! "I want to go outside and see more of Earth, of course! Geez!" she pouts as Salamedes pretends not to know her intentions. "Also, I'm hungry! Let's go into town and get lunch, okay? Your treat!" She is moving to follow behind Salamedes, only to yell out, "Oh! Right, I wanted to show you something!"
Ten runs ahead of Salamedes, getting some distance between them as she finds an area of the hall with no doors to get in the way on either side. "Ready? Watch this! Are you watching? Watch me, Doctor! I'm going to do something amazing! You'll see!--Hey, are you watching or not!?" This goes on until she has had it confirmed at least five times that she is being watched, and then braces one foot against the wall behind her and goes running towards the wall across from her, managing to, with great agility, briefly run up the wall, onto the ceiling, and then onto the wall she started braced against, only to land on the floor, turn to Salamedes, and stands with arms out to her sides with a huuuuuge grin on her face, as if to say, 'Tah-daaaaah!'
Is this what is known as Paurukour!?

<Pose Tracker> Doctor Salamedes has posed.

Salamedes pauses when Ten runs ahead, affirming the requisite number of times that they are watching. Once Puru Ten completes their feat of acrobatics, Salamedes says dryly, "You have demonstrated that before, have you not? I believe the captain was most displeased with finding your scuffmarks on the walls and ceiling. One might hope he does not discover these new footprints." Salamedes continues on past Ten, arms behind their back.

"As for lunch, there are rations aboard the ship. Come, we have things to do that do not involve frivolous activities such as this. How did your Qubeley handle? From your report, it was disabled due to insufficient beam-shielding?" The Doctor does not even look back. They don't need to, but the matter of... 'Paurukour' remains right where it is, behind them.

<Pose Tracker> Puru Ten has posed.

Ten's grin turns into a scowl quick as can be! Her hands go to her hips as she turns to keep facing Salamedes. "That was in space! It's way harder to do it here on Earth! It's soooooo much heavier down here! How many times do you think I've gotten to visit Germany, huh? I want to experience it! If you want me to work I need to have a chance to play too! Why didn't you bring one of the kids with you? They'd pay attention to me at least..."
Muttering to herself as she follows after Salamedes, hands still on her hips, wishing there was a rock or something for her to kick, she eventually yells out as though the conversation were still ongoing, "And another thing! Rations? Are you serious!? They have, like, pizza and sausage and stuff here, right? And chocolate! I've heard all about German chocolate!"
Ten again runs ahead of Salamedes, cutting by them and then standing in the middle of the hallway with her arms folded. "I took down my oponent and nearly took down a second one! Why don't you recognize my efforts and praise me by taking me to get some chocolate and sausage? I'll do whatever tests you want after that, okay?"
She is wheedling hard. Even knowing how ineffective this tactic is against the Doctor, she clasps her hands together in front of her and gives the cyborg the big puppy dog eyes. "Pweeeaaaase?"

<Pose Tracker> Doctor Salamedes has posed.

With a clearly articulated but utterly unnecessary sigh given the artificial nature of their breathing, Salamedes stops again when Ten blocks the way. "It would be dangerous for us to go out in public. You know how others see us. Further, there is no other crew member who can be assigned to watch over you. Another time, perhaps?" Salamedes again attempts to go around Ten, but at the 'pweaaaaase' begging, Salamedes stops.

One arm snaps out, two spider-leg-like fingers taking Ten's face by the chin and lifting it up as the cyborg leans down towards her. A glowing red mono-eye stares into the two violet eyes of Ten. "I will permit it on two conditions. The first is to never mispronounce 'please' like that again, it is absolutely apalling." Salamedes attempts to turn Ten's head from side to side by her chin, as though examining her for something. "The second is that you dress appropriately to conceal your identity and you do not cause any trouble for your handler." Salamedes leans even closer, until Ten's face is illuminated by that glowing red artificial eye.

        "Is that understood?"

<Pose Tracker> Puru Ten has posed.

Ten is startled by the sudden movement but doesn't jerk back or resist as her chin is seized. It doesn't hurt, and the Doctor is being gentle as always. Even if her cheeks are pushed up so that she looks like a hamster. She is even more surprised by the sudden change of heart, and the trivial -- in her mind anyway -- conditions placed upon her. Grinning, Puru Ten lets out a distorted 'Yes' that sounds more like, "Yeth!"
Clothes appropriate to conceal her identity? She gets to wear Earth Clothes!? That's not a restriction, that's a treat! She didn't even know she HAD a change of clothes aboard! They must be in her room! The intense emphasis on the question of if she understands is peculiar, but Salamedes is a peculiar individual. As much as Ten is unaccustomed to socializing, she often thinks that the Doctor is even more sheltered. The fact they fear to show themselves in public because of how they'll be judged... It just makes her sad. Maybe she can find a way to help the Doctor someday. But right now, she's going to go enjoy Germany to the fullest! And that mostly means a whole lot of eating things!

<Pose Tracker> Doctor Salamedes has posed.

With another needlessly articulated sigh, Salamedes lets go of Ten's face with a distinct shudder. Seems 'yeth' also provoked a reaction, just like 'pwease'. Salamedes is still shuddering and twitching as they continue down the corridor. "You will need funds in order to obtain food and whatever other souvenirs you may wish to pick up. We will have some arranged. Some 'street clothes' were delivered to your quarters, though we've no idea where specifically they were placed. There is also some identification in the event you need to provide it, and you should memorize the name on it, as that will be your cover while we are here."

Considering how against allowing Ten to go out that Salamedes was, they seem very prepared for the possibility of it taking place. Perhaps they just know Ten well enough to expect it to happen eventually?

"Oh, one last thing," Salamedes says as they pause at the entrance into the cargo bay, one spindly hand resting on the doorframe. "No more running on the walls, ceiling, or any other surface not meant for you to do so on. We do not wish to hear any further complaints from the captain about it."

<Pose Tracker> Puru Ten has posed.

Barely able to contain herself and her abundance of energy, Ten yells out, "Yes, Doctor! Thanks, Doctor! Bye, Doctor!" while running full-tilt down the hallway towards her quarters, her huuuuuuge grin returned to her face. She doesn't question the readiness of Salamedes for the possibility of her going out in public. They do lots of things like that. They prepare for things that might never even happen, just in case. It sounds like a lot of work to her, but if that is what Salamedes likes to do to keep busy, then more power to them!
A male voice yells out behind Ten, "Hey! No running in the halls!" And then, as she is rounding the corner, a bit more distantly but much more loudly, she hears, "WHY ARE THERE FOOTPRINTS ON MY SHIP'S WALLS AND CEILING AGAIN!?!"
Ten slips into her room and makes sure the door is locked shut before she can be questioned. This is going to be an awesome day!
