  • Summary: En route to Tsutsujidai, Koji Kabuto dreams of the terrible Mazin sleeping below Mount Fuji.

The wheels hum softly against the rails as the train departs the platform. The carriage sways gently to and fro, and the shadows of skyscrapers block out the light of day at regular intervals. All these factors are mighty levers against the waking, and many people are lulled to slumber in the gentle embrace of the Nouvelle Tokyo trains.

Far away, beneath Mount Fuji, Ichinana excavation teams dig away to separate stone and dirt from Super Alloy Z, while scientists take measurements of ambient Photon Power. One by one, machine, pilot and scientist fade away, leaving only the colossal Infinity - and a whisper.

"Goragon."

Slowly, almost imperceptibly, stone against the Mazin's armour cracks and begins to shift.

"Goragon."

Ever so slightly, the great arms, each hand easily capable of snatching up Mazinger Z or Great, begin to flex.

"Goragon."

The Mazin's hollow head lifts up - and despite its empty crown, its eyes flash a terrible yellow, and the whisper resolves into a booming voice:

"GORAGON COMES."

Cruel eyes against wrinkled blue skin bore into the soul for a single moment as this pronouncement seems to echo through reality.

Koji Kabuto startles awake, cold sweat on his brow.
The train has stopped.
Stepping out onto the platform, wisps of mist curl around his ankles and he lifts his gaze to the sky, only to see great lifeless creatures on the skyline, as though the city were a statue garden of incredible scale.

"This is it," he remarks to himself, settling his hat upon his head to hide his unmistakable hairstyle.

"Tsutsujidai."
